0:04:07 > 0:04:10It's a safari silhouette picture

0:04:10 > 0:04:13with super silhouettes of giraffes.

0:04:13 > 0:04:15- Are you ready?- Yes.- Good.

0:04:15 > 0:04:17Are you ready?

0:04:17 > 0:04:19Fantastic. Let's get making.

0:04:19 > 0:04:23Now, the first thing we're going to do is draw whatever animal

0:04:23 > 0:04:25we would like in our picture.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28Of course, we're going to draw giraffes today.

0:04:28 > 0:04:31But you can draw whatever you like.

0:04:31 > 0:04:33Now, Luca, tell me, what do giraffes look like?

0:04:33 > 0:04:37- They've got a really long neck. - And they're very tall, aren't they?

0:04:37 > 0:04:42So, let's draw a nice tall giraffe with a long neck.

0:04:42 > 0:04:46Now, let's start off with a nice long line.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49That will be our giraffe's long neck.

0:04:50 > 0:04:54A curve for the legs.

0:04:54 > 0:04:55Then a head on top.

0:04:58 > 0:04:59Two ears.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06And a tail.

0:05:06 > 0:05:09Then fatten up the neck and body.

0:05:11 > 0:05:15- What have we got?- A giraffe. - A giraffe, that's right.

0:05:15 > 0:05:18Now we need to very carefully cut this out.

0:05:18 > 0:05:22- And we have got to be careful because scissors are...- Sharp.

0:05:22 > 0:05:26That's right. You have watched this before, haven't you?

0:05:29 > 0:05:33Now, we need to make some more of these, so get some different

0:05:33 > 0:05:38coloured paper, Luca, and then I am going to put our giraffe on top.

0:05:38 > 0:05:39Grab a pen.

0:05:40 > 0:05:42And then draw around the giraffe.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50And we've got another giraffe!

0:05:50 > 0:05:55Now, be very careful and can you cut out that purple giraffe?

0:05:55 > 0:05:58I'm going to make a pink one.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01Make as many giraffes as you like in the same way

0:06:01 > 0:06:03using different colours.

0:06:05 > 0:06:08Look! Lots of giraffes.

0:06:08 > 0:06:14So, Luca, can you look after all of our giraffes? Here they come.

0:06:14 > 0:06:17But we do need this.

0:06:17 > 0:06:19This is our background paper.

0:06:19 > 0:06:22I think this is going to look nice because it's blue,

0:06:22 > 0:06:24and that will look like the sky.

0:06:24 > 0:06:26Yes, that's right.

0:06:26 > 0:06:29Now, you can place your giraffes wherever you like.

0:06:29 > 0:06:31It looks really good

0:06:31 > 0:06:34if you turn some of the giraffes the other way round,

0:06:34 > 0:06:37mix up the colours and even overlap them.

0:06:37 > 0:06:41When you're happy with your picture, stick everything down.

0:06:41 > 0:06:45We've finished, Luca. It's a super safari silhouette picture.

0:06:45 > 0:06:49And if you enjoyed that, why not try these other ideas, too?

0:06:49 > 0:06:54What about these fabulous flamingos made from different types of paper?

0:06:56 > 0:06:59Or these brilliant birds flying from corner to

0:06:59 > 0:07:01corner across a yellow sky?

0:07:02 > 0:07:05Or you could even make tremendous trees from different

0:07:05 > 0:07:08colours of paper and wrapping paper.

0:07:08 > 0:07:11Why don't you try one of those ideas today?

0:07:11 > 0:07:14Thank you so much for helping me, Luca.

0:07:14 > 0:07:17- BOTH: We made it! - High-five!

0:07:17 > 0:07:20Doesn't that look brilliant?

0:10:09 > 0:10:10It's a maggot!

0:10:10 > 0:10:14But don't worry, everybody, it's just a pretend maggot.

0:10:14 > 0:10:17And actually, it's a pretend apple as well.

0:10:17 > 0:10:20This is what we are going to make today.

0:10:20 > 0:10:23It's a tasty-looking apple with a make-believe maggot.

0:10:23 > 0:10:26It's an apple surprise.

0:10:26 > 0:10:31Now, we can make this in just one minute by using these arty things.

0:10:31 > 0:10:32Let's have a look.

0:10:32 > 0:10:34We've got a rubber glove,

0:10:34 > 0:10:36a glue stick,

0:10:36 > 0:10:39a pen, some scissors,

0:10:39 > 0:10:43some sticky dots and some fun foam.

0:10:43 > 0:10:48Now, do you think it's possible to make this apple surprise

0:10:48 > 0:10:52- in just one minute? - ALL: No way!

0:10:52 > 0:10:55Well, I think I can. I'm going to have to be...

0:10:59 > 0:11:02- Are you ready? - ALL: Yes!

0:11:02 > 0:11:04Are you ready?

0:11:07 > 0:11:10- ALL: Three, two, one! - Start the clock!

0:11:10 > 0:11:13The first thing is to fold the fun foam in half,

0:11:13 > 0:11:17then take our scissors and very carefully cut out an apple shape.

0:11:17 > 0:11:20I'm careful with these scissors because they are...

0:11:20 > 0:11:22- ALL: Sharp! - That's right.

0:11:22 > 0:11:24We are going to make a small snip there

0:11:24 > 0:11:26and another snip on the other side.

0:11:26 > 0:11:30That hole needs to be big enough to push my finger through.

0:11:30 > 0:11:33I'm going to put some glue on there and then we'll stick on

0:11:33 > 0:11:35our leaf shape that I'll cut now.

0:11:35 > 0:11:38Here we go. Round and round it goes.

0:11:45 > 0:11:47And we're going to draw some dots.

0:11:47 > 0:11:50These are going to be the eyes of our maggot.

0:11:50 > 0:11:53We make a maggot by very carefully cutting out

0:11:53 > 0:11:57the finger of an old rubber glove, like that.

0:11:57 > 0:12:00I can put that on to my finger and then push it through the hole.

0:12:00 > 0:12:03Now I've just got to stick on the stickers.

0:12:03 > 0:12:09There's one eye. Just one more to go and then I have made it!

0:12:18 > 0:12:20How about a mouse?

0:12:20 > 0:12:23With carved ears, teeth and a pom-pom nose,

0:12:23 > 0:12:25nibbling on a big piece of cheese.

0:12:25 > 0:12:29Or how about this open book with a stripy bookworm

0:12:29 > 0:12:31and a ribbon bookmark?

0:12:31 > 0:12:35Or you could even make a cuckoo clock with a feathery bird

0:12:35 > 0:12:37and a folded paper beak.

0:12:37 > 0:12:40What lovely ideas. Why don't you try one?

0:12:42 > 0:12:45Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

0:12:45 > 0:12:50Carefully cut an apple and leaf shape from fun foam.

0:12:50 > 0:12:53Cut a hole in the apple for your maggot.

0:12:53 > 0:12:55And glue on the leaf.

0:12:55 > 0:12:58Then carefully, cut a finger from an old rubber glove

0:12:58 > 0:13:01and push it through the hole in the apple.

0:13:01 > 0:13:04Add dots to stickers for eyes and stick them on.
