0:01:29 > 0:01:32Hello, Harry. How can I help you today?

0:01:32 > 0:01:36Can you show me how to make a ripped paper picture?

0:01:36 > 0:01:39That's a good idea. I like ripping - it's great fun.

0:01:39 > 0:01:41And really easy, too.

0:01:42 > 0:01:43Oh! Ha-ha!

0:01:45 > 0:01:46MR MAKER STRAINS

0:01:46 > 0:01:51Oh. Actually, sometimes it's quite hard to rip things.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53What we need is something thinner.

0:01:54 > 0:01:55Yes, that'll do.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57Let's have a look now.

0:01:58 > 0:02:00Ha-ha! I did it!

0:02:03 > 0:02:07And these pieces of ripped paper have just given me a great idea.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10Let's try something.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13Try making this lovely layered picture,

0:02:13 > 0:02:17made by ripping colourful shapes from paper.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19BOTH: Let's make it!

0:02:19 > 0:02:22But first, we'll need somewhere to make it.

0:02:25 > 0:02:30Oh! Ha-ha. We'll also need some things from the Doodle Drawers.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32I'll be back soon, Harry.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39Some coloured paper.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47We also need another very special type of paper.

0:02:47 > 0:02:49I wonder if Scraps can help?

0:02:49 > 0:02:51TOOT-TOOT!

0:02:51 > 0:02:54SCRAPS HUMS

0:02:54 > 0:02:55Where is Scraps?

0:02:55 > 0:02:58Scraps! Scraps...

0:02:58 > 0:03:00Oh. I think he might be in the shower.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03Ha-ha! Scraps! Scraps! Come on.

0:03:03 > 0:03:04We need your help.

0:03:04 > 0:03:07HE SQUEAKS

0:03:07 > 0:03:11Sorry to bother you. But could you find us some tracing paper, please?

0:03:11 > 0:03:13HE SQUEAKS

0:03:13 > 0:03:17Thank you. Tracing paper is very thin paper that you can see through.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22Oh, great! Well done, Scraps.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24HE SQUEAKS, THEN CRASHES AWAY

0:03:24 > 0:03:25Thank you.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33And we'll also need...a glue stick!

0:03:33 > 0:03:36This is what we're going to make today.

0:03:36 > 0:03:41It's a lovely layered picture of some ducks on a pretty pond.

0:03:41 > 0:03:44- So what do you think? - It's really good!

0:03:44 > 0:03:47- It's good? Brilliant! So are you ready?- Yeah.

0:03:47 > 0:03:51Great! Are you ready? Brilliant! Let's get making.

0:03:51 > 0:03:55The first thing to make is the water in our picture.

0:03:55 > 0:03:57We'll need a blue piece of paper,

0:03:57 > 0:04:00and we'll tear out two long, wavy strips!

0:04:00 > 0:04:05Take the paper, and tear off a thick wavy piece for one edge,

0:04:05 > 0:04:09and a thinner wavy piece for the other edge, like this.

0:04:09 > 0:04:12Next, rip out some green leaf shapes.

0:04:12 > 0:04:15Actually, you can help with this, Harry.

0:04:22 > 0:04:26Now let's rip out some ducks from yellow paper.

0:04:26 > 0:04:30This can be a bit fiddly, so you might need an adult to help you.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36Look! Two ducks! We're going to put them

0:04:36 > 0:04:41to the side for the moment, and bring in the blue paper for our sky.

0:04:41 > 0:04:46Remember those long, wavy blue strips we ripped out for the water?

0:04:46 > 0:04:48We need the larger one.

0:04:48 > 0:04:52Here it is. We're going to line it up on the background like this.

0:04:52 > 0:04:58Make sure that the straight edges and the corners match.

0:04:58 > 0:05:00Now we can add a duck and some leaves.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03- Here's a little duck... - QUACK!

0:05:03 > 0:05:06..and three green leaves, I think.

0:05:06 > 0:05:09I'm tucking these behind the blue strip.

0:05:09 > 0:05:12When you're happy with where everything is,

0:05:12 > 0:05:14glue it all down!

0:05:14 > 0:05:17Next, add some glue around the edge of your tracing paper.

0:05:19 > 0:05:22There we go.

0:05:22 > 0:05:26Now we can stick this onto our picture,

0:05:26 > 0:05:30then bring back in the remaining long, blue, wavy strip

0:05:30 > 0:05:33and place it at the bottom like this.

0:05:33 > 0:05:34Perfect!

0:05:34 > 0:05:38We can also add another duck and some green leaves.

0:05:39 > 0:05:42- QUACK! - When you're happy with it,

0:05:42 > 0:05:44you can glue it down again!

0:05:44 > 0:05:46There, all finished.

0:05:46 > 0:05:50Can you see how the different layers of paper and tracing paper

0:05:50 > 0:05:54make the background look like it's a long way away?

0:05:54 > 0:05:56It's very clever!

0:05:56 > 0:05:59If you enjoyed that, there are lots of other ideas.

0:06:00 > 0:06:02How about these torn paper cows,

0:06:02 > 0:06:07on ripped rolling hills, under a bright yellow sun?

0:06:07 > 0:06:11What about this marvellous monkey swinging from the trees

0:06:11 > 0:06:12in this fabulous forest?

0:06:12 > 0:06:16Layered pictures, made with a bit of sticking

0:06:16 > 0:06:19and a lot of ripping! Try one today.

0:06:19 > 0:06:23- Harry, what do you think? - It's really good.- Brilliant!

0:06:23 > 0:06:27We made it. Now your home is where the art is! High five!

0:06:36 > 0:06:40Ahhh! I love being out and about in the maker-mobile.

0:06:40 > 0:06:44The sun is shining, the birds are tweeting,

0:06:44 > 0:06:46- and... - GIGGLING AND BOUNCING

0:06:46 > 0:06:49What's that noise?

0:06:49 > 0:06:52Now, who do you think's in the Doodle Drawers?
