0:07:11 > 0:07:13You have to be as quick as you can

0:07:13 > 0:07:17And as careful too! You don't want the clay to break.

0:07:17 > 0:07:18Hurry up!

0:07:18 > 0:07:20I'm going as quick as I can!

0:07:20 > 0:07:22Don't put me off, I'm on a roll!

0:07:24 > 0:07:25Here we go.

0:07:25 > 0:07:29Right, this looks quite good. Now start twirling round,

0:07:29 > 0:07:31your sausage shape like that

0:07:31 > 0:07:36then building it up into a pot shape like this.

0:07:36 > 0:07:38There we go...

0:07:38 > 0:07:40Building it round...

0:07:40 > 0:07:43There we go, round and round it goes...

0:07:43 > 0:07:46There we go.

0:07:46 > 0:07:49Turn it round, turn up the head,

0:07:49 > 0:07:51give it a squidge. Get two little bits

0:07:51 > 0:07:54put them on the front like that...

0:07:55 > 0:07:56They're the eyes!

0:08:11 > 0:08:14But you can do any colour you want!

0:08:14 > 0:08:17Look! It's got yellow stripes.

0:08:17 > 0:08:19How about a yellow one?

0:08:19 > 0:08:23Great! This one's got pink spots too!

0:08:26 > 0:08:29A snake pot, made in a minute. Why don't you try it?

0:08:29 > 0:08:32And here's a reminder of how to do it!

0:08:32 > 0:08:36Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

0:08:36 > 0:08:39Take a piece of clay and roll it

0:08:39 > 0:08:42into a long sausage shape.

0:08:43 > 0:08:48Coil it round until you make a pot shape like this,

0:08:48 > 0:08:50bend the end of it to make a head

0:08:50 > 0:08:54and then with two other small pieces of clay, make the eyes.

0:08:54 > 0:08:57Dot them with a pencil and leave your pot to dry.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02Try making it in a minute!

0:09:02 > 0:09:05Hello, Mister Maker!

0:09:05 > 0:09:08Guess what we're making today?

0:09:08 > 0:09:11Oh, I don't know. Let's go and see.

0:09:20 > 0:09:21I'm red.

0:09:28 > 0:09:32I'm light-blue.

0:09:41 > 0:09:44I'm blue!

0:09:47 > 0:09:48I'm black.

0:09:50 > 0:09:53I'm orange.

0:09:56 > 0:09:57I'm grey.

0:10:14 > 0:10:16It's a rocket!

0:10:16 > 0:10:19Well done, everyone! See you next time!

0:10:19 > 0:10:21Now it's time to...

0:10:21 > 0:10:22frame it!

0:10:24 > 0:10:25Frame it!

0:10:26 > 0:10:27Frame it.

0:10:28 > 0:10:30Now, have a look at this!

0:10:33 > 0:10:36This fantastic tropical picture was made

0:10:36 > 0:10:39using just two pieces of cardboard.

0:10:39 > 0:10:43It's very easy but looks so good you'll be able to frame it!

0:10:45 > 0:10:47You'll need a long piece of cardboard

0:10:47 > 0:10:48and a short piece of cardboard,

0:10:48 > 0:10:51with some black, white and yellow paint.

0:10:53 > 0:10:57To make your tropical picture start by dipping the long edge

0:10:57 > 0:11:00of a piece of cardboard into some black paint.

0:11:02 > 0:11:05Now use the card to paint with to build up your picture.

0:11:05 > 0:11:08Why not start by painting some grass?

0:11:08 > 0:11:10And a tree.

0:11:10 > 0:11:12This is going to be a palm tree.

0:11:12 > 0:11:15Make the trunk with the short side of the cardboard.

0:11:15 > 0:11:17You can twist the paint with the card

0:11:17 > 0:11:20to make different textures in the paint.

0:11:21 > 0:11:24Palm trees have lots of spiny branches.

0:11:24 > 0:11:28Use the long side of the card to make the middle

0:11:28 > 0:11:31and the short side to make the leaves.

0:11:32 > 0:11:35Doesn't that look great already?!

0:11:35 > 0:11:39Now to finish off your picture, why not use the short edge

0:11:39 > 0:11:44of another clean piece of card to make a circle like this?

0:11:44 > 0:11:48Some yellow and some white... There we go!

0:11:48 > 0:11:50It's the sun!

0:11:50 > 0:11:54And you could even highlight some of the grass and the leaves

0:11:54 > 0:11:56with the yellowy-white paint.

0:11:56 > 0:11:59See? You don't need any brushes at all to create art!

0:11:59 > 0:12:02All you need is an old bit of card.

0:12:02 > 0:12:04Why don't you have a go?

0:12:04 > 0:12:07What a great way of making a really clever picture.

0:12:07 > 0:12:09Now all that's left to do is...

0:12:09 > 0:12:11frame it!

0:12:14 > 0:12:16And next, a messy picture.

0:12:16 > 0:12:17Watch this!

0:12:33 > 0:12:35Any ideas what it is yet?

0:12:46 > 0:12:48It's...a bee!

0:12:48 > 0:12:49Bee-autiful!

0:12:51 > 0:12:52BZZZ!

0:12:55 > 0:12:58Phew! It gets messy doing all this art!

0:12:58 > 0:13:00But one of the best things about making things

0:13:00 > 0:13:03is you can often turn one thing into another.

0:13:03 > 0:13:07You can turn some pencil shavings into a lovely picture.

0:13:07 > 0:13:10PEACOCK CRIES

0:13:11 > 0:13:14You can turn an egg box into a dog.

0:13:15 > 0:13:18WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!

0:13:18 > 0:13:21But what d'you think we could turn this into?

0:13:21 > 0:13:25A useful, but quite boring-looking cleaning-up sponge.

0:13:25 > 0:13:26Hmm...

0:13:26 > 0:13:29This gives me an idea.

0:13:30 > 0:13:33Let's make it - sponge toast and tissue paper baked beans!

0:13:33 > 0:13:36A work of art that's good enough to eat!

0:13:36 > 0:13:41As well as our sponge we'll need some things from the Doodle Drawers!

0:13:45 > 0:13:47Some tissue paper.

0:13:50 > 0:13:53A plastic knife and fork.

0:13:59 > 0:14:02Some sticky white PVA glue.

0:14:10 > 0:14:12Some paint.

0:14:20 > 0:14:22Some plastic sheep...

0:14:22 > 0:14:23BAAA!

0:14:23 > 0:14:25I'm just messing around, we don't need these!

0:14:26 > 0:14:28TEARING SOUND

0:14:30 > 0:14:32And a paper plate.

0:14:32 > 0:14:38Whoa! Now, to make your sponge toast and tissue paper baked beans,

0:14:38 > 0:14:41first take your scissors and trim your sponge

0:14:41 > 0:14:44so it's rounded at one end and looks a bit more

0:14:44 > 0:14:49like a slice of toast. Be careful though, because scissors are sharp.

0:14:49 > 0:14:51SCISSORS GROWL AND SNAP

0:15:04 > 0:15:09Then get some white paint and mix it with some brown paint

0:15:09 > 0:15:14to make a light-brown toast colour.

0:15:19 > 0:15:20There!

0:15:20 > 0:15:24Now brush your paint mixture all over your sponge.

0:15:34 > 0:15:39Now paint brown around the edges for a crust effect.

0:15:51 > 0:15:54It looks just like a piece of toast!

0:15:54 > 0:15:56Let's stick it on our plate!

0:16:02 > 0:16:06Now whilst that dries, get some orange tissue paper

0:16:06 > 0:16:10or you could use white tissue paper and colour it in orange,

0:16:10 > 0:16:14and roll lots and lots of small, tiny tissue paper balls,

0:16:14 > 0:16:18very tightly. These will be our baked beans... Yummy!

0:16:18 > 0:16:19There's one...

0:16:22 > 0:16:25And there's two.

0:16:25 > 0:16:28Here's a whole plateful. Now let's stick some beans

0:16:28 > 0:16:31on our toast and plate.

0:16:49 > 0:16:54Now mix some white, sticky PVA glue with some orange paint...

0:16:57 > 0:16:59This makes the baked bean sauce,

0:16:59 > 0:17:03which we can pour all over our beans.

0:17:25 > 0:17:27There! Now for a finishing touch...

0:17:27 > 0:17:30a plastic fork and a plastic knife.

0:17:47 > 0:17:50Stick everything down and leave it to dry!

0:17:52 > 0:17:54All finished!

0:17:54 > 0:17:58Now if you like the idea of turning this into something different,

0:17:58 > 0:18:01have a look at some of the other ideas you could make.

0:18:01 > 0:18:07Try making sponge sandwiches, with tissue paper lettuce,

0:18:07 > 0:18:12cardboard tomato, and foam ham and cheese! Mm!

0:18:12 > 0:18:15Or how about sponge fish fingers,

0:18:15 > 0:18:18sponge chips,

0:18:18 > 0:18:20tissue paper peas,

0:18:20 > 0:18:23a ketchup made from a blob of red paint?

0:18:23 > 0:18:25So the next time you see a boring old sponge,

0:18:25 > 0:18:29you'll know you can turn it into something far more interesting!

0:18:31 > 0:18:37Wow! Look at that! This is great cos I was feeling a bit hungry actually.

0:18:37 > 0:18:41Ho-ho-ho! Time to go, time to go!

0:18:41 > 0:18:44Oh, that's it for now. My making time's over.

0:18:44 > 0:18:46But yours is just beginning!

0:18:46 > 0:18:48See you soon!

0:18:48 > 0:18:51It's time to put all this stuff back in its box!
