0:01:56 > 0:01:58KERCHING!

0:01:59 > 0:02:01I've got it!

0:02:03 > 0:02:07Now, to make your stone picture like this one,

0:02:07 > 0:02:11the next thing you'll need will be, um...

0:02:11 > 0:02:12That's right, a foot!

0:02:12 > 0:02:16I'm popping upstairs to take my shoes and socks off.

0:02:20 > 0:02:24Now, to make your stone footprint like this one,

0:02:24 > 0:02:26take one your pieces of card

0:02:26 > 0:02:29and draw round your foot with a pen.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39Then cut this out with some scissors.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42Now, be careful cos scissors are sharp.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44GROWL!

0:02:45 > 0:02:49You might want to ask an adult to help you with this bit.

0:02:53 > 0:02:57Next, use your cut-out foot as a guide and draw around it

0:02:57 > 0:02:59onto your second piece of card.

0:03:03 > 0:03:08And then cut this one out too - carefully!

0:03:16 > 0:03:19Now take your other piece of card

0:03:29 > 0:03:31Next, cover the whole thing in glue.

0:03:38 > 0:03:43Next, place tissue paper all over your picture.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47If you want,

0:03:47 > 0:03:50you can add extra bits to build up your toes

0:03:50 > 0:03:52and the other parts of the foot.

0:04:03 > 0:04:05Now, put it in a tray

0:04:05 > 0:04:08and whilst it's still wet,

0:04:08 > 0:04:11sprinkle play sand all over it.

0:04:23 > 0:04:28Now, sprinkle off all of your extra sand and look,

0:04:28 > 0:04:33it's a stone footprint. Wow!

0:04:33 > 0:04:36Why not try some other shapes, like a stone hand?

0:04:36 > 0:04:39It's made in the same way - that is handy!

0:04:39 > 0:04:41Or how about a stone crab?

0:04:41 > 0:04:43NIP! NIP!

0:04:43 > 0:04:47You can do that by drawing a crab shape onto cardboard.

0:04:47 > 0:04:49What a little nipper, eh?

0:04:49 > 0:04:53So go on, try making a stone picture - they're great!

0:06:43 > 0:06:45I am a rectangle.

0:06:47 > 0:06:49I am a Shape.

0:06:51 > 0:06:53I am a rectangle.

0:06:56 > 0:06:59What are the rectangles going to make?

0:07:05 > 0:07:07Can you guess?

0:07:15 > 0:07:18It's a house. Well done, Rectangle.

0:07:54 > 0:07:57I'll show you. Turn the lights down.

0:07:59 > 0:08:02Now torch-projectors are great

0:08:02 > 0:08:06for shining spooky patterns in the dark.

0:08:06 > 0:08:09Like this spider.

0:08:09 > 0:08:12The spider's appeared as if from nowhere!

0:08:12 > 0:08:14Ooh! Let's turn the lights back up.

0:08:16 > 0:08:20Right, to make a torch-projector you will need

0:08:20 > 0:08:23a crisp tube with a lid,

0:08:23 > 0:08:26some black paper,

0:08:26 > 0:08:27a glue stick,

0:08:27 > 0:08:29a pencil, some scissors

0:08:29 > 0:08:30and, of course, a torch.

0:08:30 > 0:08:36Do you think it's possible to make a torch projector in just a minute?

0:08:36 > 0:08:37No way!

0:08:37 > 0:08:40Really? I think it is. Let's find out.

0:08:40 > 0:08:44I'm gonna have to move very quickly, but don't worry,

0:08:44 > 0:08:46I'll remind you how to do it at the end.

0:08:46 > 0:08:49Here we go! Let's make it in a minute!

0:08:49 > 0:08:52Let's get our rectangle of black paper

0:08:52 > 0:08:54and fold it in half.

0:08:54 > 0:08:58With our pencil, let's draw a spider shape

0:08:58 > 0:09:02like that... Here we go.

0:09:02 > 0:09:04Now our scissors.

0:09:04 > 0:09:07Be very careful with this cos scissors are sharp.

0:09:07 > 0:09:11It's time to cut out the spider shape.

0:09:11 > 0:09:12This is quite fiddly,

0:09:12 > 0:09:16so you may want to ask an adult to help you with this.

0:09:17 > 0:09:21Yes, this is tricky to do.

0:09:21 > 0:09:22Be careful!

0:09:22 > 0:09:25I'm being careful. Don't worry!

0:09:25 > 0:09:26One leg to go.

0:09:26 > 0:09:27Hurry up!

0:09:27 > 0:09:30Don't want to cut a leg off.

0:09:30 > 0:09:32And there's our spider shape.

0:09:32 > 0:09:34Let's get our glue.

0:09:36 > 0:09:39Stick with glue on the lid

0:09:39 > 0:09:40like that.

0:09:40 > 0:09:43And if you put our torch inside,

0:09:43 > 0:09:46put it on there and it's done! I did it!

0:09:46 > 0:09:47Just in time.

0:09:47 > 0:09:49You're not wrong. Woo!

0:09:49 > 0:09:51Let's check it works.

0:09:51 > 0:09:53Let's turn the lights down.

0:09:53 > 0:09:55There we go.

0:09:55 > 0:09:58Let's have a look. Where's my spider?

0:09:58 > 0:09:59Oh! There he is.

0:09:59 > 0:10:03Look, it's a spooky spider.

0:10:03 > 0:10:06You don't have to make a spooky spider.

0:10:06 > 0:10:10There's lots of shapes - like a spooky bat.

0:10:12 > 0:10:16If you don't like spooky bats, you could do - a star!

0:10:17 > 0:10:20That's great.

0:10:20 > 0:10:23Now, let's turn the lights back up.

0:10:25 > 0:10:29You can decorate your torch-projectors like this.

0:10:32 > 0:10:36Torch-projectors made in a minute. Why don't you try it?

0:10:36 > 0:10:38Here's a reminder of how to do it.

0:10:38 > 0:10:42Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

0:10:43 > 0:10:48Fold the piece of card in half and then draw half a shape on it.

0:10:53 > 0:10:57Carefully cut around the lines and then open it out

0:10:57 > 0:11:00and look - it's a full shape.

0:11:01 > 0:11:04Stick the shape onto the crisp tube lid

0:11:04 > 0:11:08and with your torch on inside the tube your projector works!

0:11:12 > 0:11:16Try making it in a minute.

0:11:16 > 0:11:18ALL: Hello, Mister Maker.

0:11:18 > 0:11:22Guess what we're making today.

0:11:22 > 0:11:25Oh, I don't know. Mmm... Let's have a look.

0:11:28 > 0:11:30THEY LAUGH

0:11:34 > 0:11:35I'm brown.

0:11:41 > 0:11:42I'm yellow.

0:12:01 > 0:12:04I'm green.

0:12:12 > 0:12:14- ALL:- It's a snail!

0:12:14 > 0:12:17Well done, everybody. See you next time.

0:12:17 > 0:12:20Now it's time to frame it!

0:12:21 > 0:12:23Frame it!

0:12:23 > 0:12:24Frame it!

0:12:25 > 0:12:28Now, have a look at this.

0:12:29 > 0:12:33Look at this great exploding firework picture.

0:12:33 > 0:12:37It's easy to do, but looks so good that you'll be able to frame it.

0:12:37 > 0:12:41You'll need some dark coloured paper,

0:12:41 > 0:12:43brightly coloured paint, glue,

0:12:43 > 0:12:46glitter and a paintbrush.

0:12:46 > 0:12:51First, squirt some blobs of paint all around your paper.

0:12:51 > 0:12:54You don't have to be neat.

0:13:07 > 0:13:12Now, flick the paint out of each blob with a paintbrush, like this.

0:13:12 > 0:13:15This is great fun.

0:13:21 > 0:13:26Then make it extra explosive - use your paintbrush

0:13:26 > 0:13:29to splash some sticky white PVA glue

0:13:29 > 0:13:31all over your picture.

0:13:34 > 0:13:37Now, shake some glitter over it...

0:13:40 > 0:13:43Shake it all off and wait for it to dry.

0:13:45 > 0:13:47What a great firework picture!

0:13:47 > 0:13:48Why don't you try it?

0:13:48 > 0:13:53When it's all done, it looks really explosive. Ka-boom!

0:13:53 > 0:13:56FIREWORKS EXPLODE

0:13:56 > 0:14:00What a great way of making a really clever picture.

0:14:00 > 0:14:03- Now all that's left to do is... - CLICK!

0:14:03 > 0:14:05..frame it!

0:14:06 > 0:14:08Doesn't that look amazing!

0:14:08 > 0:14:12Now, have a look at this.

0:14:12 > 0:14:16Woo-ooh! Woo-ooh! Woo-ooh!

0:14:16 > 0:14:19Hello! It's only me.

0:14:19 > 0:14:22These plastic jars are useful for keeping things in.

0:14:22 > 0:14:26That's why I've been collecting some to keep things in.

0:14:26 > 0:14:30Yes, you've guessed it, they've given me a great idea!

0:14:30 > 0:14:31DING!

0:14:31 > 0:14:35Impress your friends and fit an ocean into a jar

0:14:35 > 0:14:38with its very own ship sailing on the high seas.

0:14:38 > 0:14:44Let's make it. We'll need some things from the Doodle Drawers!

0:14:46 > 0:14:49A plastic jar with a lid that's big enough

0:14:49 > 0:14:53for you to get your hand in and out of easily.

0:14:55 > 0:14:57A straw.

0:15:01 > 0:15:03Some white rice.

0:15:06 > 0:15:08Some blue food colouring.

0:15:13 > 0:15:15Some modelling clay.

0:15:18 > 0:15:21And some kitchen roll and a glue stick.

0:15:21 > 0:15:22Whoa!

0:15:22 > 0:15:27Now, this is quite a lot of stuff, but it's worth it

0:15:27 > 0:15:30because the ship in a jar is a great make.

0:15:30 > 0:15:32First, we need to make some sea.

0:15:32 > 0:15:38We take some white rice and add a few drops of blue food colouring.

0:15:42 > 0:15:44There we go. Then give it a stir.

0:15:51 > 0:15:52There.

0:15:52 > 0:15:55Whilst that dries, we can make our ship.

0:15:55 > 0:15:59And for this we take our modelling clay

0:15:59 > 0:16:02and squeeze it into the shape of a ship.

0:16:02 > 0:16:07- Let's get shipshape! - SHIP HORN BLOWS

0:16:07 > 0:16:09SEA SHANTY TUNE

0:16:17 > 0:16:18There.

0:16:18 > 0:16:23Now get a square of kitchen roll and cut off two corners,

0:16:23 > 0:16:24one big and one small.

0:16:24 > 0:16:27These are going to be the sails.

0:16:27 > 0:16:28Like this.

0:16:28 > 0:16:32But remember to be careful because scissors are sharp.

0:16:32 > 0:16:34GROWL!

0:16:48 > 0:16:51This leaves you with one big triangle and one small one.

0:16:51 > 0:16:54Now fold them in half.

0:16:54 > 0:16:56Like that...

0:16:56 > 0:16:59and like that. There.

0:16:59 > 0:17:04Remember your straw? We need to very carefully cut two bits off it

0:17:04 > 0:17:06about the same size.

0:17:06 > 0:17:08Like that

0:17:08 > 0:17:10and like that.

0:17:10 > 0:17:15Now, we need to stick our cut-out kitchen roll sails to our straw.

0:17:28 > 0:17:30All done.

0:17:31 > 0:17:35Next, push the finished sails into the ship.

0:17:48 > 0:17:52There. Now we need to slide our ship into our jar.

0:17:52 > 0:17:56Very carefully... In it goes.

0:17:56 > 0:17:58And press it down

0:17:58 > 0:18:01nice and hard like that.

0:18:01 > 0:18:05There, we're nearly done. But there's one thing missing.

0:18:05 > 0:18:07Remember? The blue rice.

0:18:07 > 0:18:10We need to carefully pour it inside

0:18:10 > 0:18:15because this... is going to be our sea.

0:18:15 > 0:18:19So let's screw our lid back on.

0:18:23 > 0:18:26There. Fantastic!

0:18:26 > 0:18:30So try making your very own ship in a jar...

0:18:30 > 0:18:32SEAGULLS CALL

0:18:32 > 0:18:36..complete with a lovely realistic blue sea!

0:18:37 > 0:18:41Not that realistic!

0:18:42 > 0:18:44Time to go! Time to go!

0:18:44 > 0:18:47Oh! That's it for now.

0:18:47 > 0:18:51My making time's over, but yours is just beginning!

0:18:51 > 0:18:52See you soon!

0:18:52 > 0:18:55It's time to put all this stuff back in its box.

0:18:58 > 0:19:01If you like making things like Mister Maker, visit...

0:19:04 > 0:19:06..for more ideas.
