0:00:39 > 0:00:41Mister Maker!

0:00:43 > 0:00:46Oh, hello there. Great to see you again.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49I've just been upstairs fixing my leaky tap.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52Yeah, it was no problem, thanks to trusty tools

0:00:52 > 0:00:55and brilliant fix-it skills. Hey-hey!

0:00:55 > 0:00:57- DRIPPING - Hey, what?

0:00:57 > 0:01:00Oh, no, it's still dripping up there!

0:01:00 > 0:01:03I better go and fix it again. Excuse me, won't be long.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05RUNNING FOOTSTEPS

0:01:07 > 0:01:09Phew! Ha! Right, there we go.

0:01:09 > 0:01:13It's definitely fixed now, thanks to my trusty tools

0:01:13 > 0:01:15and my brilliant fix-it skills.

0:01:15 > 0:01:19- DRIPPING - Oh, no, it's still dripping.

0:01:19 > 0:01:22I don't believe this, I just give up.

0:01:22 > 0:01:26But that dripping tap gives me a brilliant idea!

0:01:27 > 0:01:32Try making a stunning drip picture that's great fun to do.

0:01:32 > 0:01:36Let's make it! We'll need things from the Doodle Drawers.

0:01:36 > 0:01:37Come on!

0:01:42 > 0:01:44Some paint.

0:01:48 > 0:01:52A glue stick, a pen and a pencil.

0:01:53 > 0:01:57Some paper, some card and some scissors.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03And some water!

0:02:03 > 0:02:06Whoa! Now to make your very own drip picture,

0:02:06 > 0:02:08like this one here.

0:02:08 > 0:02:12You have to put some old paper or some newspaper down

0:02:12 > 0:02:14cos this can get a bit messy.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16Now, you can choose your paint.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19Squeeze some into some plastic beakers.

0:02:27 > 0:02:31And now, add in a dash of water to make it slightly runny

0:02:31 > 0:02:32a bit like custard.

0:02:36 > 0:02:37Give it a good stir.

0:02:41 > 0:02:45Next, take a sheet of thick paper or card and draw

0:02:45 > 0:02:48a thin pencil line along it like this.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50Make this near the bottom.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54Now we're going to pour painty mixture along the line.

0:02:55 > 0:02:59Like this and do an extra big dollop in the middle!

0:02:59 > 0:03:01Now, this is the fun bit.

0:03:01 > 0:03:05We're going to pick up our card at the painty end and lift it up.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07Are you ready? Here we go!

0:03:08 > 0:03:10Wa-hey!

0:03:10 > 0:03:12Ho-ho-ho!

0:03:12 > 0:03:13Look at it go!

0:03:13 > 0:03:15It's a fantastic drippy pattern.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18Whoa! I'll stop before the end of the card

0:03:18 > 0:03:21cos I don't want to get paint on my table.

0:03:21 > 0:03:27Whilst that's drying, draw two eyes and a mouth on some white paper.

0:03:32 > 0:03:36Then cut these out, but be careful, scissors are sharp.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39- SCISSORS GROWL - Oh! All right! All right!

0:03:43 > 0:03:47And when the paint is dry, glue on the eyes and the mouth.

0:03:52 > 0:03:54There he is!

0:03:54 > 0:03:55A drip monster!

0:03:55 > 0:03:56Isn't he funny?

0:03:56 > 0:03:58Let's do another one.

0:03:58 > 0:04:02This time, daw two curvy lines at the bottom of the card.

0:04:03 > 0:04:08Like this...and this.

0:04:08 > 0:04:10There! They look like smiles!

0:04:10 > 0:04:13Now, let's pour on some paint.

0:04:13 > 0:04:17This one can be purple... and this one can be green.

0:04:17 > 0:04:20Now, if we pick up our card. Away we go!

0:04:21 > 0:04:26Ho-ho-ho! Come on, here we go.

0:04:26 > 0:04:28There, brilliant!

0:04:28 > 0:04:31And now, let's leave these to dry too.

0:04:31 > 0:04:35And when it's dry, add paper eyes and mouths,

0:04:35 > 0:04:36just like we did before.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43And there, they look like two little aliens, don't they?

0:04:43 > 0:04:46There are other ideas you could try.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49The weed in this picture was made by pouring paint

0:04:49 > 0:04:53along the bottom of the card, then letting it run.

0:04:53 > 0:04:58After it's dry, just draw a fish and some pebbles and cut them out.

0:04:58 > 0:05:02So, why don't you try letting your paint run and make a drippy picture?

0:05:02 > 0:05:05- DRIPPING - Oh, no!

0:05:05 > 0:05:08That tap's dripping upstairs again!

0:05:08 > 0:05:11Hmm. Maybe there's a problem with the pipes.

0:05:11 > 0:05:13- LOUD DRIPPING - Uh-oh!

0:05:13 > 0:05:14Ugh!

0:05:21 > 0:05:25Oh, yeah, there's definitely a problem with the pipes

0:05:25 > 0:05:29but don't worry, I'll fix them later but not before I've fixed my hair.

0:05:29 > 0:05:34Oof! There, that's better!

0:05:34 > 0:05:35SNORING

0:05:35 > 0:05:37Who's that snoring?

0:05:37 > 0:05:39Oh, it's the Shapes.

0:05:39 > 0:05:40They're asleep again.

0:05:40 > 0:05:42Let's wake them up!

0:05:47 > 0:05:48Ah!

0:05:48 > 0:05:51He-he-he-he!

0:05:51 > 0:05:54ALL: Oh, hey, ha, yes!

0:05:54 > 0:05:56ALL: Whoa!

0:06:02 > 0:06:04# I am a shape

0:06:07 > 0:06:09# I am a shape

0:06:11 > 0:06:13# I am a circle

0:06:16 > 0:06:19# I am a triangle

0:06:22 > 0:06:23# I am a square

0:06:26 > 0:06:29# I am a rectangle

0:06:31 > 0:06:32# I am a shape

0:06:35 > 0:06:37# I am a square. #

0:06:37 > 0:06:40How many squares can you see?

0:06:40 > 0:06:411...

0:06:42 > 0:06:452...

0:06:45 > 0:06:473...

0:06:47 > 0:06:494...

0:06:50 > 0:06:525...

0:06:53 > 0:06:556.

0:06:55 > 0:06:58There are 6 squares.

0:06:58 > 0:06:59Well done, square.

0:06:59 > 0:07:01It's time to get back on the shelf.

0:07:01 > 0:07:03THEY GIGGLE

0:07:10 > 0:07:13SNORING

0:07:13 > 0:07:16Ho-ho! That was a really tricky puzzle today

0:07:16 > 0:07:18but it was lots of fun. It...

0:07:18 > 0:07:20Tocky here. Minute make time!

0:07:20 > 0:07:23It's minute make time. Come on, everyone!

0:07:26 > 0:07:30It's minute make time and this is what we're going to make,

0:07:30 > 0:07:32a flappy-ear card.

0:07:32 > 0:07:35Look at that! It's from me.

0:07:35 > 0:07:38Now, to make one of these, you will need

0:07:38 > 0:07:42a square of coloured card, three white stickers,

0:07:42 > 0:07:45a pair of scissors and a black pen.

0:07:45 > 0:07:48Now, do you think it's possible to make this

0:07:48 > 0:07:49in just one minute?

0:07:49 > 0:07:51You're having a laugh!

0:07:51 > 0:07:53Well, let's find out.

0:07:53 > 0:07:56I'm gonna have to move quickly but don't worry,

0:07:56 > 0:07:58I'll remind you how to do it.

0:07:58 > 0:08:01Are you ready? Let's make it in a minute!

0:08:01 > 0:08:02Start the clock!

0:08:02 > 0:08:04Let's get our square of paper

0:08:04 > 0:08:07and fold it in half like that there

0:08:07 > 0:08:10and then we can cut along the folds...

0:08:10 > 0:08:11Be careful!

0:08:11 > 0:08:13I'm being careful.

0:08:13 > 0:08:17There we go, this'll give us two smaller triangles.

0:08:17 > 0:08:20Now, if we fold both corners down, like that

0:08:20 > 0:08:24and like that, we get our two flappy ears.

0:08:24 > 0:08:28Now I'm gonna draw a nose and two eyes with my black pen

0:08:28 > 0:08:31on to my white stickers. There's the nose.

0:08:31 > 0:08:34That's just coloured in black, that one.

0:08:34 > 0:08:35Then the eyes are dots.

0:08:35 > 0:08:37There's one and there's two.

0:08:37 > 0:08:40Let's put these on quickly.

0:08:40 > 0:08:42There we go. Right, come on then, nose.

0:08:42 > 0:08:43There we go.

0:08:43 > 0:08:46There's our nose, brilliant!

0:08:46 > 0:08:47Now, we need one eye.

0:08:47 > 0:08:49There's one eye,

0:08:49 > 0:08:50there it is.

0:08:50 > 0:08:52There!

0:08:52 > 0:08:54Right, let's give him a face.

0:08:54 > 0:08:56There, there, there, there

0:08:56 > 0:08:59there, there, there, there and there!

0:08:59 > 0:09:01- I've done it! - BELL RINGS

0:09:01 > 0:09:03Only just!

0:09:03 > 0:09:05Oh, yeah! That was close

0:09:05 > 0:09:11but this card is for you, Tocky, so I'm going to write my name here.

0:09:11 > 0:09:13There you go, Tocky!

0:09:13 > 0:09:14You're too kind.

0:09:14 > 0:09:19If you've got more than a minute, you can make all sorts of cards.

0:09:19 > 0:09:24This one's a rabbit with big teeth and a little pink nose.

0:09:24 > 0:09:28How about this spotty pig with a big snout?

0:09:28 > 0:09:29Oink! Oink!

0:09:29 > 0:09:32Ear cards made in a minute. Why don't you try it?

0:09:32 > 0:09:35Here's a reminder of how to do it.

0:09:35 > 0:09:39Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

0:09:39 > 0:09:43Take a square piece of coloured card and fold it in half.

0:09:43 > 0:09:46Cut along the fold to make two triangles.

0:09:46 > 0:09:49Fold down the top corners of one of the triangles,

0:09:49 > 0:09:52put on nose and eye stickers,

0:09:52 > 0:09:54add details with a black pen

0:09:54 > 0:09:58and then write your message behind the ear on your ear card.

0:10:00 > 0:10:03Why don't you try making it in a minute?

0:10:03 > 0:10:06ALL: We're here, Mister Maker.

0:10:06 > 0:10:08Oh, hello, everyone!

0:10:08 > 0:10:09ALL: Watch this!

0:10:09 > 0:10:13This should be fun. I wonder what they're up to.

0:10:22 > 0:10:23I'm green.

0:10:27 > 0:10:29I'm dark blue.

0:10:31 > 0:10:32I am black.

0:10:36 > 0:10:38I am grey.

0:10:39 > 0:10:40I am red.

0:10:55 > 0:10:58It's a motorbike.

0:10:58 > 0:11:01Well done, everybody. See you next time.

0:11:01 > 0:11:05- Now, it's time to frame it! - CAMERA WHIRRS

0:11:05 > 0:11:07Frame it.

0:11:07 > 0:11:09Frame it!

0:11:10 > 0:11:12Now, take a look at this.

0:11:14 > 0:11:16This is a ghostly picture.

0:11:16 > 0:11:21It's easy to do and looks so good that you'll be able to frame it.

0:11:21 > 0:11:24You'll need some dark, coloured card,

0:11:24 > 0:11:29tracing paper, glue, a pencil, a pen and some chalk pastels.

0:11:29 > 0:11:33Start off by drawing a thick pastel line across the card.

0:11:33 > 0:11:35This is going to be a spooky hill.

0:11:35 > 0:11:38Then smudge the line with your fingers.

0:11:38 > 0:11:43This gives a great, misty effect but it's a little bit messy

0:11:43 > 0:11:45so wash your hands afterwards.

0:11:45 > 0:11:50Take the pink chalk pastel and draw another line.

0:11:50 > 0:11:52Smudge the pink upwards

0:11:52 > 0:11:56and it's like there's a spooky glow behind the hill.

0:11:56 > 0:12:01Then, draw an old tree on top of the hill with the black chalk pastel.

0:12:03 > 0:12:05Now it's time to make your ghost.

0:12:05 > 0:12:09Place the tracing paper over the top of your picture

0:12:09 > 0:12:11and you can still see it underneath.

0:12:11 > 0:12:15Next, draw a spooky ghost-shape with your pencil.

0:12:15 > 0:12:19Don't forget to colour in the ghost's eyes and mouth

0:12:19 > 0:12:20with a black pen.

0:12:20 > 0:12:23Then, carefully tear the ghost out.

0:12:23 > 0:12:27Glue your ghost anywhere you like on the page.

0:12:27 > 0:12:30Let's make this one float right here.

0:12:30 > 0:12:33There, what a ghostly looking picture.

0:12:33 > 0:12:37Why don't you try it, if you dare?

0:12:38 > 0:12:40What a brilliant picture!

0:12:40 > 0:12:42Why don't you have a go and then...

0:12:42 > 0:12:44frame it!

0:12:45 > 0:12:48Wow, what a fantastic picture.

0:12:48 > 0:12:52I like making pictures out of all sorts of things.

0:12:52 > 0:12:56So, let's make a picture out of pompoms

0:12:57 > 0:12:59Wow!

0:13:03 > 0:13:04Wow!

0:13:09 > 0:13:11What do you think they're making?

0:13:18 > 0:13:21It's a terrific toadstool.

0:13:21 > 0:13:23Now, where is it?

0:13:26 > 0:13:29Oh, honestly. Where could it be?

0:13:29 > 0:13:32Oh! Have you ever put something in a secret place

0:13:32 > 0:13:36and then forgotten where you've put it?

0:13:36 > 0:13:37That's what I've done.

0:13:41 > 0:13:43Oh, it's my...

0:13:44 > 0:13:47..secret piggy bank... Shh!

0:13:47 > 0:13:50..that I was saving up all my coins in.

0:13:50 > 0:13:54Yeah, I'm sure I put it in the Doodle Drawers somewhere.

0:13:58 > 0:14:02No, it's not in here. Oh!

0:14:02 > 0:14:07I was sure that I put my pink piggy bank in those Doodle Drawers.

0:14:07 > 0:14:09Here, have you seen it anywhere?

0:14:09 > 0:14:14It's a pink piggy bank, sort of this colour

0:14:14 > 0:14:17and it looks like a pig, sort of like this one

0:14:17 > 0:14:21- and it holds money, sort of like... - COINS RATTLE

0:14:21 > 0:14:22..this one.

0:14:22 > 0:14:24Hang on a minute!

0:14:24 > 0:14:25COINS RATTLE

0:14:25 > 0:14:27This is my piggy bank!

0:14:27 > 0:14:32Oh, but how did it get all the way over to these shelves

0:14:32 > 0:14:34from the Doodle Drawers?

0:14:34 > 0:14:37Hmm. That is a bit of a mystery.

0:14:37 > 0:14:42But I tell you what, it gives me a great idea -

0:14:42 > 0:14:47a fantastic book-end, secret safe to hide your secret arty stuff

0:14:47 > 0:14:49or favourite toys in.

0:14:49 > 0:14:53Let's make it! We'll need some things from the Doodle Drawers!

0:14:55 > 0:14:58Two cardboard cereal boxes...

0:15:00 > 0:15:02..a glue stick...

0:15:04 > 0:15:06..some white and coloured paint...

0:15:08 > 0:15:11..and a black felt-tip pen.

0:15:11 > 0:15:14Whoa! And we also need a few big pebbles

0:15:14 > 0:15:17and we can get those from a garden centre.

0:15:17 > 0:15:19I'll be back in a tick.

0:15:20 > 0:15:22CAR REVS

0:15:22 > 0:15:25Here they are. Here are our pebbles.

0:15:25 > 0:15:27Let's lay them out here.

0:15:27 > 0:15:30Now, to make your book-end, secret safe,

0:15:30 > 0:15:33to hide your secret stuff inside,

0:15:33 > 0:15:37you have to get two empty cardboard cereal boxes,

0:15:37 > 0:15:40like this, with flaps on the lid.

0:15:40 > 0:15:45We're going to cover these boxes, including the lids, in white paint.

0:15:45 > 0:15:46This is a good tip,

0:15:46 > 0:15:51as it lets us cover everything with coloured paint much easier later.

0:15:55 > 0:15:57Once your cereal boxes are dry,

0:15:57 > 0:16:01it's time to paint them with coloured paint.

0:16:01 > 0:16:05Now, make sure that you paint on the front,

0:16:05 > 0:16:07the edge and the back of your box

0:16:07 > 0:16:10but don't paint on these edges here

0:16:10 > 0:16:16because they're going to be the pages of our books. Mmm.

0:16:16 > 0:16:21Now, let's paint this one red and this one blue.

0:16:26 > 0:16:30Now, for a really great effect you can use a slightly lighter colour

0:16:30 > 0:16:35down this side of the book here which is called the spine

0:16:35 > 0:16:40and how about adding a rectangle on the front cover, like this?

0:16:43 > 0:16:46And when both of your boxes are painted and dry,

0:16:46 > 0:16:50you can use a black pen to add some extra details.

0:16:50 > 0:16:54How about adding black lines on the white edges
