0:00:43 > 0:00:44Here we go. Very ni...

0:00:44 > 0:00:47Oh, hello there! Great to see you again!

0:00:47 > 0:00:50I'm just putting all of my sponges away.

0:00:50 > 0:00:55Oh, now, I hope there's enough room over here in my Doodle Drawers.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57Right, come on then, open up!

0:00:57 > 0:00:59Oh, that's good, right...

0:00:59 > 0:01:01Oh, well that's nice, isn't it?

0:01:01 > 0:01:03What about you, Mr Lizard?

0:01:03 > 0:01:04That's good.

0:01:04 > 0:01:09Yeah, very funny, Doodle Drawers. Come on, open wide!

0:01:09 > 0:01:12That's better. No more funny business, all right?

0:01:12 > 0:01:15Here we go, get in there, that's it.

0:01:15 > 0:01:17Phew! There we go.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21Right. Ugh!

0:01:21 > 0:01:23There we go, much better! Ha-ha.

0:01:23 > 0:01:26- HICCUP - Oh, pardon you, Doodle Drawers.

0:01:26 > 0:01:30That's not a good sign. I must have filled you up.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32- RUMBLING - What's that?

0:01:33 > 0:01:34HICCUP!

0:01:34 > 0:01:36Oh well, it doesn't matter

0:01:36 > 0:01:40you can make some great things out of sponges.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42This gives me a great idea.

0:01:43 > 0:01:48Try using sponges to make a brilliant sponge picture.

0:01:48 > 0:01:49Let's make it!

0:01:49 > 0:01:54As well as sponges we'll need other things from the Doodle Drawers!

0:01:57 > 0:01:58Some cardboard.

0:02:01 > 0:02:02Some scissors.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10Some chalks.

0:02:16 > 0:02:20And some gloopy PVA glue. Phew!

0:02:20 > 0:02:21Whoa!

0:02:21 > 0:02:25Now to make your very own sponge building picture,

0:02:25 > 0:02:27like this one here.

0:02:27 > 0:02:32Take you cardboard and colour it in with yellow and red chalks

0:02:32 > 0:02:33to make a sky.

0:02:33 > 0:02:38It's a good idea if you start with a big red sun in one of the corners.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42And then, do the rest of the sky.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46That looks great!

0:02:46 > 0:02:49Make sure you leave a gap at the bottom.

0:02:49 > 0:02:53You'll see why because it's time to start arranging our building.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56Let's start with a big, rectangle sponge

0:02:56 > 0:03:00and let's put it there at the bottom of our picture.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03Let's get two smaller rectangle sponges

0:03:03 > 0:03:06and put those either side of the big one.

0:03:06 > 0:03:11And now, oh yes, how about another different coloured rectangle sponge

0:03:11 > 0:03:13on top of the big one to make a door?

0:03:13 > 0:03:16We need to make roofs for our buildings.

0:03:16 > 0:03:20For that we could use two rounded sponges like this.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23It's a good idea if they are different colours.

0:03:23 > 0:03:26Now we're going to cut the top off this one

0:03:26 > 0:03:29and the top and the bottom off this one.

0:03:29 > 0:03:33Scissors are sharp so be careful and ask an adult to help.

0:03:33 > 0:03:37- GROWLING - Oh! Oh! Eh-oh!

0:03:40 > 0:03:43Now we've got three roof shapes.

0:03:43 > 0:03:47Put the two matching roofs either side of the big sponge

0:03:47 > 0:03:50and the bigger roof right in the middle

0:03:50 > 0:03:53on top of the big sponge, there.

0:03:53 > 0:03:57Now, get another rectangle sponge in a different colour

0:03:57 > 0:04:01and, very carefully, cut it into two thin strips.

0:04:02 > 0:04:04Now, place these pieces

0:04:04 > 0:04:07at the bottom of your smaller buildings, here.

0:04:07 > 0:04:11All that's missing are the windows and doors.

0:04:11 > 0:04:15Now, you need to cut out a door shape like this,

0:04:15 > 0:04:19with a pointy roof and how about three small, square window shapes?

0:04:19 > 0:04:23It's good if the windows and doors are a different colour.

0:04:23 > 0:04:26Now, carefully cut these out and, again,

0:04:26 > 0:04:29you could ask an adult to help you.

0:04:33 > 0:04:35Right, let's put these in place.

0:04:35 > 0:04:37Put that one there.

0:04:39 > 0:04:42Fantastic! When you're happy with all your pieces,

0:04:42 > 0:04:45you can glue them on to the cardboard.

0:04:54 > 0:04:58And when it's dry, you're all finished!

0:04:58 > 0:05:02But you could try all sorts of other buildings.

0:05:02 > 0:05:03How about a castle?

0:05:03 > 0:05:07It's got sponge towers and turrets.

0:05:07 > 0:05:12Or even a really big city picture using lots and lots of sponges!

0:05:12 > 0:05:18Aren't sponges brilliant? You can never have too many of them.

0:05:18 > 0:05:20RUMBLING

0:05:20 > 0:05:22Oh! Oh, no.

0:05:24 > 0:05:28Uh! Oh! Or maybe you can.

0:05:28 > 0:05:30- SNORING - Who's that snoring?

0:05:30 > 0:05:34Oh, it's the Shapes, they're asleep again!

0:05:35 > 0:05:36Let's wake them up!

0:05:42 > 0:05:43Ah!

0:05:43 > 0:05:45He-he-he! He-he!

0:05:45 > 0:05:49Whoa, hey, ha, yes!

0:05:49 > 0:05:51ALL: Whoa!

0:05:56 > 0:05:58# I am a shape

0:06:01 > 0:06:03# I am a shape

0:06:06 > 0:06:08# I am a shape

0:06:11 > 0:06:13# I am a shape

0:06:15 > 0:06:17# I am a circle

0:06:20 > 0:06:23# I am a triangle

0:06:26 > 0:06:27# I am a square

0:06:30 > 0:06:33# I am a rectangle

0:06:35 > 0:06:36# I am a shape

0:06:39 > 0:06:41# I am a rectangle. #

0:06:44 > 0:06:47What's hiding in the rectangles?

0:06:50 > 0:06:51Can you guess what it is?

0:07:00 > 0:07:01It's a tiger!

0:07:01 > 0:07:03Well done, Rectangle!

0:07:03 > 0:07:05Time to get back on the shelf.

0:07:07 > 0:07:09ALL: Whee!

0:07:10 > 0:07:13ALL: Oh! Oh!

0:07:16 > 0:07:20THEY SNORE

0:07:20 > 0:07:23The Shapes are asleep but I'm sure...

0:07:23 > 0:07:25- BOING! - Tocky here!

0:07:25 > 0:07:26Minute make time.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29Hey, hey, hey! It's minute make time.

0:07:31 > 0:07:35Yes, it's minute make time and here's what we're going to make.

0:07:35 > 0:07:37A springy puppet!

0:07:37 > 0:07:39BOING! BOING!

0:07:39 > 0:07:42Look! It's a wiggly worm!

0:07:42 > 0:07:46Now, to make one of these, you will need

0:07:46 > 0:07:50a long strip of paper, two small white stickers.

0:07:50 > 0:07:55If you haven't got stickers you can cut circles out from white paper.

0:07:55 > 0:08:01Some scissors, two drinking straws, a black pen and some sticky tape.

0:08:01 > 0:08:06Now, do you think it's possible to make this in just one minute?

0:08:06 > 0:08:08You must be bonkers!

0:08:08 > 0:08:10Oh, good one, Tocky.

0:08:10 > 0:08:13He's right. I'm gonna have to be very quick

0:08:13 > 0:08:17but, don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it.

0:08:17 > 0:08:20Let's make it in a minute! Start the clock!

0:08:20 > 0:08:22Let's get our strip of paper

0:08:22 > 0:08:25and cut a rounded shape at one end.

0:08:25 > 0:08:27This is going to be the head.

0:08:27 > 0:08:29There we go, like that.

0:08:29 > 0:08:32At the other end, we're gonna make it nice and long.

0:08:32 > 0:08:34That's gonna be the tail.

0:08:34 > 0:08:38Now we're going to fold this into a sort of spring shape

0:08:38 > 0:08:41by folding it one way and then the other.

0:08:41 > 0:08:43And then one way and then the other.

0:08:43 > 0:08:45And then that way.

0:08:45 > 0:08:48It's a bit like making a paper fan.

0:08:48 > 0:08:50Now, if we open it up, like that,

0:08:50 > 0:08:53we can get our white stickers here,

0:08:53 > 0:08:54put the eyes on.

0:08:54 > 0:08:58There's one and there's the other one coming now.

0:08:58 > 0:08:59There we go.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02Now, we need our black pen to put dots on for the eyes

0:09:02 > 0:09:04and draw on a mouth.

0:09:04 > 0:09:06And then if we turn him over,

0:09:06 > 0:09:09we can position our straws,

0:09:09 > 0:09:13get some sticky tape and stick them in place.

0:09:13 > 0:09:17Oh, I've gotta be quick, just a few seconds to go!

0:09:17 > 0:09:19I've done it!

0:09:19 > 0:09:20That was close!

0:09:20 > 0:09:24That was close but if you've got more than a minute,

0:09:24 > 0:09:26you can make all sorts of puppets.

0:09:26 > 0:09:28How about a sausage dog?

0:09:28 > 0:09:31It's got a dog's head and paws at one end

0:09:31 > 0:09:33and a tail and back legs at the other!

0:09:33 > 0:09:35Or how about a bendy crocodile?

0:09:35 > 0:09:40It's got a snappy mouth at one end and a crocodile's tail at the other!

0:09:40 > 0:09:41- SNAP! - Whoa!

0:09:41 > 0:09:44Springy puppets made in a minute.

0:09:44 > 0:09:45Why don't you try it?

0:09:45 > 0:09:47Here's a reminder.

0:09:47 > 0:09:51'Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

0:09:51 > 0:09:55'Take a strip of coloured paper, cut one end into a head shape,

0:09:55 > 0:09:58'the other into a pointed tail.

0:09:58 > 0:10:01'Fold the body one way, then the other.

0:10:01 > 0:10:05'To make a spring, use white stickers and a black pen

0:10:05 > 0:10:07'to give your puppet eyes and a mouth.

0:10:07 > 0:10:12'Stick on your straws at both ends and your springy puppet

0:10:12 > 0:10:13'is ready!'

0:10:14 > 0:10:17Why don't you try making it in a minute?

0:10:17 > 0:10:20We're here, Mister Maker.

0:10:20 > 0:10:22Oh, hello, everyone!

0:10:22 > 0:10:23Watch this!

0:10:23 > 0:10:27Ho-ho! I wonder what they're up to.

0:10:27 > 0:10:29THEY GIGGLE

0:10:34 > 0:10:36I'm brown.

0:10:45 > 0:10:46I am red.

0:11:02 > 0:11:04I'm light blue.

0:11:07 > 0:11:09I'm dark blue.

0:11:11 > 0:11:13I'm grey.

0:11:17 > 0:11:19It's a ship!

0:11:19 > 0:11:22Well done, everybody. See you next time.

0:11:22 > 0:11:24Now, it's time to frame it.

0:11:24 > 0:11:26CAMERA WHIRS

0:11:26 > 0:11:27Frame it!

0:11:27 > 0:11:29CAMERA WHIRS

0:11:29 > 0:11:30Frame it!

0:11:30 > 0:11:31CAMERA WHIRS

0:11:31 > 0:11:35Now, take a look at this.

0:11:35 > 0:11:37It's a fantastic windy picture,

0:11:37 > 0:11:41it's very easy to do and looks so good, you'll be able to frame it.

0:11:41 > 0:11:44You will need some sheets of tissue paper.

0:11:44 > 0:11:47A brown, wax crayon, a black pen,

0:11:47 > 0:11:50some glue and three sheets of coloured paper.

0:11:50 > 0:11:52Start off by tearing a thick strip

0:11:52 > 0:11:56off the bottom of some light-blue paper.

0:11:56 > 0:12:00Glue it on some dark-blue paper, lining up the corners.

0:12:00 > 0:12:03Then tear out a sloping strip from some green paper,

0:12:03 > 0:12:06make it a bit higher than your blue piece.

0:12:06 > 0:12:11Glue it to the bottom corner so it overlaps the light-blue.

0:12:11 > 0:12:13Draw a tree with a brown crayon.

0:12:13 > 0:12:17It's good if the branches are leaning in one direction

0:12:17 > 0:12:19as if they're being blown in the wind.

0:12:19 > 0:12:23Outline the branches and the trunk in black pen.

0:12:23 > 0:12:25This makes it really stand out.

0:12:25 > 0:12:29To make leaves, fold some tissue paper in half, like this.

0:12:29 > 0:12:34Carefully cut out a small curved shape along the folded line.

0:12:34 > 0:12:38Open it up and you've made yourself a leaf.

0:12:38 > 0:12:41Make lots of different sizes and colours.

0:12:41 > 0:12:45Place the smallest leaves closest to the tree

0:12:45 > 0:12:48and the bigger leaves further away.

0:12:49 > 0:12:52When you're happy, glue them all down.

0:12:52 > 0:12:55What a great, windy picture.

0:12:55 > 0:12:58Why don't you try it? It will blow you away.

0:12:59 > 0:13:02What a brilliant picture, why don't you have a go?

0:13:02 > 0:13:03And then...

0:13:03 > 0:13:06frame it!

0:13:06 > 0:13:11I like making pictures out of all sorts of things so...

0:13:11 > 0:13:16let's make a picture out of beads.

0:13:17 > 0:13:19Wow!

0:13:23 > 0:13:24Wow!

0:13:26 > 0:13:28What could it be?

0:13:34 > 0:13:35Any ideas?

0:13:36 > 0:13:38It's a truck!

0:13:38 > 0:13:40That's amazing!

0:13:40 > 0:13:42And so's this.

0:13:43 > 0:13:46Look at this, I've made a tent!

0:13:46 > 0:13:47It's fantastic, isn't it?

0:13:47 > 0:13:50I've got lots of camping supplies.

0:13:50 > 0:13:55I've got a blanket, a torch, a drink and some biscuits.

0:13:55 > 0:13:58Yeah, well, us campers have got to keep our strength up

0:13:58 > 0:14:00on those long, dark nights.

0:14:00 > 0:14:03I said "those long, dark nights!"

0:14:03 > 0:14:05- BIRD CALLS - Oh!

0:14:05 > 0:14:08Good job I came prepared, yeah.

0:14:08 > 0:14:10Ha-ha!

0:14:10 > 0:14:14Oh! But I forgot to bring some new batteries!

0:14:14 > 0:14:15BIRD CALLS

0:14:15 > 0:14:20Oh, what I need is a night-light. That gives me an idea, you know.

0:14:21 > 0:14:24I said it gives me an idea!

0:14:24 > 0:14:25ROOSTER CROWS

0:14:25 > 0:14:30A fantastic, glowing firefly that helps you see in the dark.

0:14:31 > 0:14:32Let's make it!

0:14:32 > 0:14:35We'll need some things from the Doodle Drawers!

0:14:39 > 0:14:43An empty plastic bottle.

0:14:46 > 0:14:50Some white and black craft foam.

0:14:52 > 0:14:56Some scissors and some sticky tape.

0:14:59 > 0:15:04Some string, a black pen, some pencils

0:15:04 > 0:15:07and we need a glowstick.

0:15:07 > 0:15:09If you haven't heard of glowsticks

0:15:09 > 0:15:13they're sticks that glow and people use them at parties.

0:15:13 > 0:15:15You can buy them at a toyshop.

0:15:15 > 0:15:17I'll be back in a tick.

0:15:19 > 0:15:20CAR ENGINE REVS

0:15:21 > 0:15:22Here we go.

0:15:24 > 0:15:28And here's our glowstick.

0:15:28 > 0:15:32Now, to make a firefly, like this one here,

0:15:32 > 0:15:37we first have to draw two eyes on some white craft foam.

0:15:37 > 0:15:42Now, make sure that these two eyes are together in one piece.

0:15:42 > 0:15:45Now, let's add some dots in the middle

0:15:45 > 0:15:46with a black pen.

0:15:48 > 0:15:50Now, we need to draw two wings.

0:15:54 > 0:15:57And then very carefully cut these shapes out.

0:15:57 > 0:16:00Be careful because scissors are sharp.

0:16:00 > 0:16:02- GROWLING - Oh! Huh!

0:16:09 > 0:16:11Now, with a black piece of craft foam,

0:16:11 > 0:16:14draw some antennae, like these.

0:16:16 > 0:16:20It's a good idea to draw an outline with a coloured pencil.

0:16:24 > 0:16:27Now we can cut this out very carefully.

0:16:33 > 0:16:38Then, take a piece of string and tape it to your plastic bottle.

0:16:43 > 0:16:48Now we need to find our bottle top and stick our antennae to it.

0:16:48 > 0:16:51Now, we need to make sure the bottle top

0:16:51 > 0:16:54is still able to twist open.

0:16:54 > 0:16:56Right, there we go.

0:16:58 > 0:16:59Yeah.

0:16:59 > 0:17:02Now, we're going to stick our eyes on top

0:17:02 > 0:17:06and we do that by making a loop of sticky tape,

0:17:06 > 0:17:12like this, so it's sticky on all the sides.

0:17:13 > 0:17:15There we go.
