0:00:38 > 0:00:40- #- Make it, Mister Maker!- #

0:00:45 > 0:00:49Hello, there! Great to see you again. I've just been shopping

0:00:49 > 0:00:53and now I need to find somewhere to pack all my stuff away.

0:00:53 > 0:00:56Oh, yes! Good idea, Doodle Drawers!

0:00:56 > 0:00:59I'll use you. It shouldn't take long to pack away.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05Ah... My box of eggs.

0:01:05 > 0:01:09Now, these are easily broken so I don't just want to throw these

0:01:09 > 0:01:11in the Doodle Drawers, no.

0:01:11 > 0:01:16I'll put these over here, out of the way, where they'll be nice and safe.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19That's an EGG-xcellent idea!

0:01:19 > 0:01:20MISTER MAKER LAUGHS

0:01:20 > 0:01:22DOODLE DRAWERS APPLAUD

0:01:22 > 0:01:26Thank you! Or some might say, it's a cracking idea!

0:01:26 > 0:01:27Uh-uh!

0:01:27 > 0:01:30Oh... Well, I thought it was funny.

0:01:30 > 0:01:31CRUNCH!

0:01:31 > 0:01:36Oh... Oh, no! My eggs!

0:01:36 > 0:01:40They're all cracked and broken. What am I gonna do now?!

0:01:40 > 0:01:45I know... I'm gonna have a great idea.

0:01:46 > 0:01:47Let's try something!

0:01:47 > 0:01:53'A cracking picture made out of colourful eggshells!'

0:01:53 > 0:01:55Let's make it! As well as eggs,

0:01:55 > 0:01:59we'll need some other things from the Doodle Drawers!

0:02:01 > 0:02:02Some paper.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08Some brightly coloured food colouring.

0:02:10 > 0:02:11A loud hailer.

0:02:11 > 0:02:15LOUD: No, we don't need that!

0:02:19 > 0:02:21Some gloopy PVA glue.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26Some water.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31And a pen!

0:02:32 > 0:02:36Now, to make an eggshell picture, like this one here,

0:02:36 > 0:02:41it's a good idea to put on some old clothes as this can get a bit messy.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43Whoa!

0:02:43 > 0:02:46Now we need some clean and dry eggshells, so get an adult

0:02:46 > 0:02:51to help you thoroughly clean the eggshells before you use them.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54To colour your shells, like these here,

0:02:54 > 0:02:59you need to make a special food colouring mixture in as many colours

0:02:59 > 0:03:02as you want to use. Let's make red, yellow and blue.

0:03:02 > 0:03:09Let's drop three drops of red food colouring into a bowl,

0:03:09 > 0:03:11mix it in with three drops of water.

0:03:11 > 0:03:13Let's give it a mix...

0:03:13 > 0:03:15Do the same for yellow and blue!

0:03:23 > 0:03:28Now, we're going to crunch up our eggshells with the back of a spoon.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35Put eggshells into each of the bowls.

0:03:38 > 0:03:42Mix them around and the shells will change colour!

0:03:48 > 0:03:50It can take a while for this to happen,

0:03:50 > 0:03:54so while waiting, do something more interesting!

0:04:01 > 0:04:05Now, when all of your shells have changed colour, fish them out

0:04:05 > 0:04:09and let them dry on some old paper or kitchen roll.

0:04:13 > 0:04:18Now you're ready to make your eggshell picture.

0:04:18 > 0:04:23Draw a shape or pattern on your paper with a black pen.

0:04:24 > 0:04:28I'm going to draw a star in the middle of some squares.

0:04:28 > 0:04:30You can draw whatever you like!

0:04:32 > 0:04:35Spread a layer of gloopy glue into our picture.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38I'll start by gluing inside the star.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43Then carefully start sticking the eggshells

0:04:43 > 0:04:46around the edge of the star shape.

0:04:46 > 0:04:48Let's use the yellow shells.

0:04:54 > 0:05:00When you've finished, fill the rest of your shape with yellow eggshells,

0:05:00 > 0:05:02and don't leave any gaps!

0:05:02 > 0:05:03SQUELCH!

0:05:05 > 0:05:09Now choose another part of the picture and do the same,

0:05:09 > 0:05:13with glue and a different colour of eggshell.

0:05:14 > 0:05:16Now, how about this blue eggshell?

0:05:19 > 0:05:24To finish off our picture, let's use some red eggshell

0:05:29 > 0:05:31Doesn't it look great!

0:05:31 > 0:05:35If you want, you can use different colours and patterns

0:05:35 > 0:05:37to make sure eggshell picture!

0:05:37 > 0:05:40What about a stripy eggshell picture?

0:05:40 > 0:05:43It's made with a green stripe in the middle,

0:05:43 > 0:05:46and yellow and red stripes on either side!

0:05:46 > 0:05:51Or for something completely different like this chicken picture!

0:05:51 > 0:05:54It's got red feathers, a yellow beak and yellow feet.

0:05:54 > 0:05:58Brilliant shell pictures made from eggs! They're good!

0:05:58 > 0:06:01In fact, they're EGG-xtremely good!

0:06:01 > 0:06:03BOOING

0:06:03 > 0:06:06Oh, come on! That one was funny!

0:06:06 > 0:06:09Who's that snoring?

0:06:09 > 0:06:13Oh, it's the Shapes! They're asleep again.

0:06:13 > 0:06:14Let's wake them up!

0:06:14 > 0:06:17SNORING

0:06:23 > 0:06:27- Oh, hey!- Ah!- Yeah!

0:06:54 > 0:06:55I am a square!

0:06:59 > 0:07:01I am a rectangle!

0:07:04 > 0:07:05I am a shape!

0:07:07 > 0:07:09I am a triangle!

0:07:11 > 0:07:14'What are the triangles making?'

0:07:23 > 0:07:26'Can you guess what it is?'

0:07:28 > 0:07:32'It's a wizard! Well done, Triangle!

0:07:32 > 0:07:35Now it's time to get back on the shelf!

0:07:52 > 0:07:55Hey, it's minute make time! Come on!

0:07:56 > 0:07:58BELL RINGS

0:07:59 > 0:08:04It's minute make time and here's what we're going to make today!

0:08:04 > 0:08:05A book worm!

0:08:05 > 0:08:08A perfect fellow to mark where you are in a book,

0:08:08 > 0:08:10or a favourite page.

0:08:10 > 0:08:15To make a book worm, you will need a strip of card,

0:08:15 > 0:08:20some scissors, an old rubber glove, some cotton wool,

0:08:20 > 0:08:25a glue stick, some sticky tape and some googly eyes!

0:08:26 > 0:08:31No! Not these googly eyes! The sort you find in an arts and crafts shop.

0:08:31 > 0:08:33I'll be back in a tick.

0:08:36 > 0:08:37I've got them!

0:08:37 > 0:08:40Right...

0:08:40 > 0:08:42Here are our googly eyes.

0:08:42 > 0:08:46Now, do you think it's possible to make this...

0:08:46 > 0:08:47in just one minute?

0:08:47 > 0:08:49Not a chance!

0:08:49 > 0:08:54Well, let's find out. I'm gonna have to be very quick but don't worry,

0:08:54 > 0:08:57I'll remind you how to do it at the end.

0:08:57 > 0:09:00Are you ready? Great! Let's make it in a minute!

0:09:00 > 0:09:02Start the clock!

0:09:02 > 0:09:05First, we get our old rubber glove and some scissors

0:09:05 > 0:09:09and carefully cut off two of the fingers, like this.

0:09:09 > 0:09:12There we go... Very careful...

0:09:12 > 0:09:16Just give them a little snip. Right. Let's fill these

0:09:16 > 0:09:21with cotton wool. Here we go, there's a bit in that finger,

0:09:21 > 0:09:25and then we need a bit in this finger here... Here we go.

0:09:25 > 0:09:27I'll leave a bit at each end

0:09:27 > 0:09:30cos that's where we're gonna put this -

0:09:30 > 0:09:33our strip of card. If I bunch it together there

0:09:33 > 0:09:37and get a bit of sticky tape and stick it down,

0:09:37 > 0:09:39then another bit for this side.

0:09:39 > 0:09:41Bunch it together there.

0:09:41 > 0:09:43Faster, faster!

0:09:43 > 0:09:48Stick down, there we go! If you turn it over... Yeah, looking good!

0:09:48 > 0:09:52Right, I need some glue on this side, there we go.

0:09:52 > 0:09:57Where I put the two googly eyes - there's one...

0:09:57 > 0:10:00and there's two, there! I've done it!

0:10:00 > 0:10:02BELL RINGS AND SIREN BLASTS

0:10:02 > 0:10:04That was close!

0:10:04 > 0:10:08Phew! That WAS close. But if you've got more than a minute,

0:10:08 > 0:10:10you could try some other book worms!

0:10:10 > 0:10:13Like this one, with spots!

0:10:13 > 0:10:18Or this one, with glittery stripes!

0:10:18 > 0:10:23Or how about this one with fur!

0:10:23 > 0:10:27Book worms made in a minute! Why don't you try it?

0:10:27 > 0:10:29Here's a reminder of how to do it.

0:10:29 > 0:10:33'Let's go back to beginning and take another look.

0:10:34 > 0:10:39'Cut two fingers off a washing up glove. Stuff them with cotton wool

0:10:39 > 0:10:41'and stick both ends to the card.

0:10:41 > 0:10:45'Finally, stick on the googly eyes to finish your book worm!'

0:10:47 > 0:10:49Why don't you make it in a minute!

0:10:49 > 0:10:56ALL: Hello, Mister Maker! Guess what we're making today.

0:10:56 > 0:10:59Oh, I don't know. Let's find out.

0:11:07 > 0:11:08I'm brown!

0:11:12 > 0:11:14I am peach!

0:11:23 > 0:11:25I am red!

0:11:37 > 0:11:38I'm yellow!

0:11:42 > 0:11:43I am green!

0:11:45 > 0:11:48ALL: It's a pizza!

0:11:48 > 0:11:51Well done, everyone! See you next time.

0:11:51 > 0:11:52Now it's time to...

0:11:52 > 0:11:54Frame it!

0:11:55 > 0:11:57Frame it!

0:11:58 > 0:12:00Frame it!

0:12:00 > 0:12:03Now, take a look at this.

0:12:04 > 0:12:07What a wonderful picture of a countryside scene.

0:12:07 > 0:12:10It's easy and looks so good, you can frame it!

0:12:10 > 0:12:16You'll need some white paper, paint, coloured pencils

0:12:16 > 0:12:18and sticky tack.

0:12:18 > 0:12:23Start by stretching the sticky tack to make long, thin strips.

0:12:23 > 0:12:28Lay one long strip across the bottom of the paper in a wavy line.

0:12:28 > 0:12:31Press it down lightly so it sticks to the paper.

0:12:31 > 0:12:34Now, stick more strips in curved lines.

0:12:34 > 0:12:37These will be fields in the distance.

0:12:37 > 0:12:40Make three circles with the sticky tack

0:12:40 > 0:12:42and stick them at the top of the paper.

0:12:42 > 0:12:44These are the trees.

0:12:44 > 0:12:49Now for the paint. Paint inside the lines of our sticky tack shapes.

0:12:49 > 0:12:52Green looks good. This will be our grass.

0:12:52 > 0:12:56Let's paint the other fields and trees with different colours.

0:12:59 > 0:13:04Once it's dry, you can peel all the sticky tack off.

0:13:04 > 0:13:07Wow! It's white where the sticky tack was!

0:13:07 > 0:13:10Now, you can clearly see the patchwork fields.

0:13:10 > 0:13:16Draw lines in the fields and little Vs for grass with coloured pencils.

0:13:16 > 0:13:19Draw small spiral shapes...

0:13:19 > 0:13:23Add a fence along the top of the grass...

0:13:23 > 0:13:26And how about some clouds in the sky?

0:13:26 > 0:13:30Finish off your picture by adding tree trunks like this.

0:13:30 > 0:13:32You can even add a little sheep!

0:13:32 > 0:13:36It's a beautiful countryside scene.

0:13:36 > 0:13:40What a great way of making a really clever picture!

0:13:40 > 0:13:43Now all that's left to do is...

0:13:43 > 0:13:44frame it!

0:13:44 > 0:13:48SHEEP BLEAT

0:13:50 > 0:13:51THUNDER CRACKS

0:13:51 > 0:13:52It looks like rain...

0:13:55 > 0:14:00Oh, no! What horrid weather. I think I'll close the curtains, yeah.

0:14:02 > 0:14:04There. That's much better.

0:14:04 > 0:14:06THUNDER CRACKS

0:14:06 > 0:14:10Oh, no! We've had a power cut.

0:14:10 > 0:14:15Never mind. I always carry with me my trusty torch!

0:14:16 > 0:14:19Ooh... This is a bit spooky though, isn't it?

0:14:22 > 0:14:23PIANO CLANGS

0:14:23 > 0:14:24Argh! What was that?!

0:14:24 > 0:14:30Oh, it's just me standing on my keyboard. Ha!

0:14:30 > 0:14:34I really must learn to tidy away better, you know.

0:14:34 > 0:14:38Oh, brilliant! The lights are back on.

0:14:38 > 0:14:41And all this spookiness has given me a great idea!

0:14:43 > 0:14:47'Enter if you dare - a crazy, creepy castle!

0:14:47 > 0:14:49Ha ha ha!

0:14:49 > 0:14:53Let's make it! We'll need some things from the Doodle Drawers.

0:14:56 > 0:14:58Some kitchen roll tubes...

0:15:00 > 0:15:03Some spooky coloured paint...

0:15:05 > 0:15:08A silver pen...

0:15:09 > 0:15:11Some pointy ice-cream tubs...

0:15:14 > 0:15:15A box...

0:15:18 > 0:15:22And some gloopy PVA glue!

0:15:22 > 0:15:28Whoa! Now, to make your very own creepy castle, like this one here...

0:15:28 > 0:15:29EVIL LAUGHTER

0:15:29 > 0:15:33..First, paint your box and your two kitchen roll tubes

0:15:33 > 0:15:36in a nice, creepy colour.

0:15:36 > 0:15:39Now, you can choose whatever colour you like

0:15:39 > 0:15:42but I think this spooky purple will look really good.

0:15:47 > 0:15:51When your paint is dry, leave these pieces to one side

0:15:51 > 0:15:55and we can start painting our pointy ice-cream tubs.

0:15:55 > 0:16:01Now I think we should choose another spooky colour like this scary pink.

0:16:01 > 0:16:05To do that, we need to make a painty mixture

0:16:05 > 0:16:08that's half paint and half gloopy glue.

0:16:08 > 0:16:12This will help the paint stick to the tub.

0:16:13 > 0:16:15There we go. Give it a mix...

0:16:17 > 0:16:21Then paint both ice-cream tubs and leave them to dry.

0:16:24 > 0:16:28Now we need to glue our pieces together

0:16:28 > 0:16:32so let's get our box and lay it on its front like that...

0:16:32 > 0:16:43Then get one of the kitchen roll tubes and glue it on one side.

0:16:37 > 0:16:43Now, I'm gonna put this one quite high up on one side, there.

0:16:43 > 0:16:47The other kitchen roll tube can go on the opposite side.

0:16:47 > 0:16:51This one is gonna go about half way.

0:16:51 > 0:16:54Now we can leave this to dry.

0:16:55 > 0:17:00When it's all nice and dry, turn the box back over,

0:17:00 > 0:17:06so we can draw on some spooky windows and a spooky door.

0:17:06 > 0:17:07We'll need a silver pen.

0:17:07 > 0:17:13Now, a tall pointy arch shape like this looks good for the door.

0:17:13 > 0:17:16You can do smaller ones like this for the windows.

0:17:19 > 0:17:24Next, fill in all the windows and the door with black paint.

0:17:28 > 0:17:32Then, to make the castle look extra creepy,

0:17:32 > 0:17:36how about painting slime oozing out of the tubes?

0:17:36 > 0:17:41How about some slime coming out of the door and the windows too?

0:17:41 > 0:17:43Let's get painting!

0:17:46 > 0:17:51Now to finish off, put your painted ice-cream tubs on top of the tubes.

0:17:53 > 0:17:56Look at that! A creepy castle!

0:17:56 > 0:17:58ORGAN PLAYS

0:17:58 > 0:18:01You can keep building up your creepy castle

0:18:01 > 0:18:04with all sorts of boxes, tubes and containers,

0:18:04 > 0:18:07so it gets even creepier!

0:18:07 > 0:18:11Wow! What a huge, creepy castle!

0:18:11 > 0:18:13Oh!

0:18:13 > 0:18:17Oh, that's it. I've had enough of this spooky weather.

0:18:24 > 0:18:28That should do it! Now, if I open the curtains again...

0:18:30 > 0:18:35Wow! That's much better!

0:18:35 > 0:18:36Time to go! Time to go!

0:18:36 > 0:18:38Aw, that's it for now.

0:18:38 > 0:18:42My making time's over but yours is just beginning!

0:18:42 > 0:18:43See you soon!

0:18:43 > 0:18:48It's time to put all this stuff back in its box!

0:18:57 > 0:18:59..for more ideas.
