0:00:14 > 0:00:16# Make it, Mister Maker

0:00:17 > 0:00:19# Ooh, la, la, la, la

0:00:23 > 0:00:25# Ooh, la, la, la, la

0:00:25 > 0:00:27# Make it, Mister Maker

0:00:28 > 0:00:31# Ooh, la, la, la, la

0:00:31 > 0:00:32# Make it, Mister Maker

0:00:34 > 0:00:36# Ooh, la, la, la, la

0:00:36 > 0:00:38# Make it, Mister Maker

0:00:38 > 0:00:39# Make it, Mister Maker

0:00:39 > 0:00:42# Mister Maker! #

0:00:43 > 0:00:45Oh, hello there! Great to see you again.

0:00:45 > 0:00:48I'm putting the finishing touches

0:00:48 > 0:00:50to my aeroplane model.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52Mmm, there we go. There!

0:00:52 > 0:00:54All finished.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57It's taken me ages to glue this together.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00And because I was using lots of gloopy glue,

0:01:00 > 0:01:03I made sure I put plenty of old paper down,

0:01:03 > 0:01:04just in case I got in a mess.

0:01:06 > 0:01:07Oh, no!

0:01:07 > 0:01:10How did that get there?

0:01:11 > 0:01:12And how did that get there?

0:01:12 > 0:01:14Oh.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17And how did that get on there?

0:01:17 > 0:01:19And...eh? What's that?

0:01:19 > 0:01:20Oh.

0:01:20 > 0:01:23How did that get there?

0:01:23 > 0:01:25Well, I suppose by using old paper,

0:01:25 > 0:01:29it doesn't really matter if it gets ripped up and torn into pieces.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32Plus, it gives me a great idea.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34Let's try something!

0:01:35 > 0:01:39Try using torn-up bits of paper to make this super city picture.

0:01:39 > 0:01:40Let's make it!

0:01:40 > 0:01:44We'll need some things from the Doodle Drawers! Come on!

0:01:46 > 0:01:49Some coloured paper and a ruler.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55A glue stick.

0:01:58 > 0:02:00A black pen and a pencil.

0:02:03 > 0:02:05Some newspaper.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07Whoa!

0:02:07 > 0:02:10Now, to make a torn-paper city picture,

0:02:10 > 0:02:11like this one here,

0:02:11 > 0:02:15find yourself a large piece of coloured paper.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18And starting at the bottom of the paper,

0:02:18 > 0:02:21draw a large rectangle with a pencil.

0:02:21 > 0:02:24Next, draw a tall, pointy, triangle shape.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26About as tall as the rectangle.

0:02:26 > 0:02:27And how about...

0:02:27 > 0:02:28two more rectangles?

0:02:28 > 0:02:31You don't have to be neat,

0:02:31 > 0:02:34and you can draw whatever shapes you like.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36You could add a curved roof, like this.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39Now for the tricky bit. We need to rip

0:02:39 > 0:02:41along all of these lines.

0:02:41 > 0:02:45But you can use a ruler to help you, like this.

0:02:45 > 0:02:50Place the ruler down, alongside one of your pencil lines,

0:02:50 > 0:02:52hold the ruler down firmly,

0:02:52 > 0:02:54and then tear the paper against it.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04Put the pieces to one side - we'll need those later.

0:03:04 > 0:03:08Then get yourself another piece of coloured paper.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11This darker shade will look good.

0:03:11 > 0:03:15Then, let's grab a pencil, and start drawing some more shapes.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18You can use a white pencil here, if you like.

0:03:18 > 0:03:21Cos it really shows up the pencil lines.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24Let your pencil go where it wants!

0:03:24 > 0:03:27And when you're happy with your buildings,

0:03:27 > 0:03:29tear them out as well.

0:03:32 > 0:03:35Put these pieces to one side as well,

0:03:35 > 0:03:37and grab your last piece of paper.

0:03:37 > 0:03:41Again, this works really well if it's an even darker shade.

0:03:41 > 0:03:45Let's start drawing some more building shapes,

0:03:45 > 0:03:47but this time, they're going to be

0:03:47 > 0:03:49joined at the bottom of the page.

0:03:49 > 0:03:54It's a great idea if the drawings are quite small.

0:03:57 > 0:04:01When you're happy with your buildings, tear these out.

0:04:02 > 0:04:04Now...

0:04:04 > 0:04:06get another piece of paper,

0:04:06 > 0:04:10and very carefully, place your biggest buildings at the back.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16Middle-sized buildings in the middle.

0:04:19 > 0:04:21And the smallest buildings on top!

0:04:21 > 0:04:23There! Very nice.

0:04:23 > 0:04:25Now we can get gluing.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32It's looking great already.

0:04:32 > 0:04:37But let's add something extra with some torn-up pieces of newspaper.

0:04:37 > 0:04:42Just tear out little rectangles, or squares, for windows and doors!

0:04:48 > 0:04:50Tear as many pieces as you want,

0:04:50 > 0:04:53and arrange them on to your building.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02Now all that's left to do,

0:05:02 > 0:05:04is add some detail with a black pen.

0:05:04 > 0:05:08Just carry on until you're happy with your picture.

0:05:08 > 0:05:11This one's going to have lots of windows.

0:05:14 > 0:05:17It's a fabulous torn-paper city!

0:05:17 > 0:05:20There are other ideas you could try too.

0:05:20 > 0:05:23A countryside scene.

0:05:23 > 0:05:27It's got rolling hills and torn-paper flowers.

0:05:27 > 0:05:28Or even a beach.

0:05:28 > 0:05:33With torn-paper sailing boats and gentle torn waves.

0:05:33 > 0:05:37You see, something great came out of me ripping up that paper.

0:05:37 > 0:05:41I knew it would. Now, where did I put that model plane?

0:05:41 > 0:05:42ENGINE DRONES

0:05:42 > 0:05:45Oh, no!

0:05:45 > 0:05:46Oh.

0:05:46 > 0:05:49That was just PLANE silly, wasn't it, eh?

0:05:49 > 0:05:50Who's that snoring?

0:05:50 > 0:05:53- Oh, it's the Shapes. - SNORING

0:05:53 > 0:05:55They're asleep again.

0:05:55 > 0:05:57Let's wake them up!

0:05:57 > 0:06:00SNORING

0:06:02 > 0:06:03Ooh.

0:06:03 > 0:06:06HE GIGGLES

0:06:06 > 0:06:08THEY JIBBER

0:06:09 > 0:06:11ALL SHOUT

0:06:17 > 0:06:19# I am a shape

0:06:19 > 0:06:20# La, la, la, la

0:06:22 > 0:06:24# La, la, la, la, a shape!

0:06:24 > 0:06:25# La, la, la, la

0:06:27 > 0:06:28# I am a circle

0:06:32 > 0:06:34# I am a triangle

0:06:37 > 0:06:38# I am a square

0:06:41 > 0:06:44# I am a rectangle

0:06:46 > 0:06:48# I am a shape!

0:06:50 > 0:06:52# I am a rectangle. #

0:06:53 > 0:06:56What's hiding in the rectangles?

0:07:04 > 0:07:05Can you guess?

0:07:07 > 0:07:09FAIRGROUND MUSIC

0:07:09 > 0:07:11It's a merry-go-round!

0:07:11 > 0:07:14Well done, Rectangle!

0:07:14 > 0:07:16It's time to get back on the shelf.

0:07:16 > 0:07:18ALL: Whoa!

0:07:18 > 0:07:20THEY LAUGH

0:07:28 > 0:07:30I'm glad we woke the Shapes.

0:07:30 > 0:07:32- They're funny! I loved it... - CRASHING

0:07:32 > 0:07:33Tocky here!

0:07:33 > 0:07:35Minute make time!

0:07:35 > 0:07:37Hey, hey, it's minute make time!

0:07:40 > 0:07:44Now, have you ever been stuck for something to wear

0:07:44 > 0:07:46at a fancy-dress party?

0:07:46 > 0:07:48Well, here's a great problem-solver.

0:07:48 > 0:07:49Oooh!

0:07:49 > 0:07:53It's a fancy-dress headdress that's fun to make!

0:07:53 > 0:07:56Now, to make one of these, you will need...

0:07:56 > 0:07:59lots and lots of coloured feathers.

0:07:59 > 0:08:02A plastic jewel. Ooh, look at it.

0:08:02 > 0:08:03Some stickers.

0:08:03 > 0:08:05A glue stick.

0:08:05 > 0:08:06Sticky tape.

0:08:06 > 0:08:09And a strip of card.

0:08:09 > 0:08:10This strip of card

0:08:10 > 0:08:13needs to be able to fit all the way around your head.

0:08:13 > 0:08:15That's quite tricky to do -

0:08:15 > 0:08:18you might want to ask an adult to help.

0:08:18 > 0:08:22Now, do you think it's possible to make this in just one minute?

0:08:22 > 0:08:24You must be joking!

0:08:24 > 0:08:26Well, thanks a lot, Tocky(!)

0:08:26 > 0:08:29I think I can do it. I'll have to be very quick.

0:08:29 > 0:08:33Don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end.

0:08:33 > 0:08:35Are you ready? Let's make it in a minute!

0:08:35 > 0:08:37Start the clock!

0:08:37 > 0:08:38Let's get the strip,

0:08:38 > 0:08:40and start laying out feathers.

0:08:40 > 0:08:43You can use any colour feathers,

0:08:43 > 0:08:45in whatever order. There.

0:08:45 > 0:08:47I've got those ones down.

0:08:47 > 0:08:48I'll get the green ones.

0:08:48 > 0:08:50They look nice...

0:08:50 > 0:08:52that way. Just line them up.

0:08:52 > 0:08:54Now I think two yellow ones would look nice,

0:08:54 > 0:08:56either side there...

0:08:56 > 0:08:58Then how about these ones? Yes!

0:08:58 > 0:09:00They can go on the end there.

0:09:00 > 0:09:02A piece of sticky tape

0:09:02 > 0:09:04to put them in place...

0:09:04 > 0:09:06- Faster!- I'm going as quick as I can!

0:09:06 > 0:09:12Here we go. Gonna stick all the feathers down like that.

0:09:12 > 0:09:15There we go. Now, if I turn that over,

0:09:15 > 0:09:19I can stick on my jewel, into the middle.

0:09:19 > 0:09:21Bit of glue there. There we go...

0:09:23 > 0:09:26Now let's put some stickers on. There's a sticker...

0:09:26 > 0:09:28and there... Oh, I'm running out of time!

0:09:28 > 0:09:30There we go.

0:09:30 > 0:09:33Now, if I just get a bit of sticky tape,

0:09:33 > 0:09:35I can fix it in place!

0:09:35 > 0:09:39I've done it! Look at that! It's a fancy-dress headdress!

0:09:41 > 0:09:42Only just!

0:09:42 > 0:09:47If you've got more than a minute, there are other ideas you could try.

0:09:47 > 0:09:51Ooh, very nice! This one's got pipe cleaners and paper details.

0:09:51 > 0:09:54Oh! And this one's got twigs and leaves!

0:09:54 > 0:09:57Fancy-dress headdresses, made in a minute!

0:09:57 > 0:10:01Why don't you give it a go? Here's a reminder of how to do it...

0:10:01 > 0:10:04Let's go back to the beginning and take a look.

0:10:04 > 0:10:09Get an adult to measure a strip of card that fits your head.

0:10:09 > 0:10:11Arrange feathers along it

0:10:11 > 0:10:13and tape them into place.

0:10:13 > 0:10:16Turn it over and stick on some jewels and stickers.

0:10:16 > 0:10:21Finally, tape the ends together and your fancy-dress headdress

0:10:21 > 0:10:25is complete. Why don't you try and make it in a minute?

0:10:25 > 0:10:27ALL: Hello, Mister Maker,

0:10:27 > 0:10:31guess what we're making today?

0:10:31 > 0:10:34Oh! I don't know. Let's find out.

0:10:41 > 0:10:43I am purple.

0:10:49 > 0:10:50I am green.

0:11:09 > 0:11:10I'm yellow.

0:11:15 > 0:11:17I am orange.

0:11:20 > 0:11:21I am red.

0:11:24 > 0:11:26ALL: It's a dragon!

0:11:27 > 0:11:29Well done, everyone.

0:11:29 > 0:11:31See you next time. It's time to -

0:11:31 > 0:11:34- frame it! - CLICK!

0:11:34 > 0:11:37- Frame it. - CLICK!

0:11:37 > 0:11:39- Frame it. - CLICK!

0:11:39 > 0:11:42Now, take a look at this.

0:11:43 > 0:11:45This is a great pattern picture

0:11:45 > 0:11:49and it's made using wax crayons and ink.

0:11:49 > 0:11:52It's very easy to do, but makes a picture so good,

0:11:52 > 0:11:54you'll be able to frame it.

0:11:54 > 0:11:56You'll need white paper,

0:11:56 > 0:12:00paint brushes, crayons, different coloured inks

0:12:00 > 0:12:02and water.

0:12:02 > 0:12:05To make a pattern picture - draw lots of shapes and dots

0:12:05 > 0:12:08onto the paper with a white crayon.

0:12:08 > 0:12:11This is tricky cos you can't see what you're doing.

0:12:11 > 0:12:13But all will be revealed.

0:12:13 > 0:12:16Now do the same with other colours.

0:12:18 > 0:12:20It's time for some magic.

0:12:20 > 0:12:22Mix the ink with water

0:12:22 > 0:12:27and paint rectangles and squares all over the top of the wax shapes.

0:12:31 > 0:12:34You can do as many shapes as you like.

0:12:39 > 0:12:41And when it's dry,

0:12:41 > 0:12:44look how the wax crayons magically resist the paint.

0:12:44 > 0:12:49You can see the wax drawings underneath the painted shapes.

0:12:49 > 0:12:52It's a brilliant pattern picture.

0:12:53 > 0:12:57What a great way of making a really clever picture.

0:12:57 > 0:12:59Now, all that's left to do is...

0:12:59 > 0:13:00frame it!

0:13:03 > 0:13:06I like making pictures out of all sorts of things.

0:13:06 > 0:13:10So, let's make a picture out of...

0:13:10 > 0:13:11lolly sticks!

0:13:12 > 0:13:15Wow!

0:13:17 > 0:13:19Wow!

0:13:34 > 0:13:36Wow! It's a grasshopper!

0:13:39 > 0:13:42I'm just looking through my seaside box.

0:13:42 > 0:13:46It's full of all the things I take with me when I go on holiday.

0:13:46 > 0:13:47Let's have a look.

0:13:47 > 0:13:49Yes...

0:13:49 > 0:13:52Here's my bucket and spade - very nice.

0:13:52 > 0:13:54What else have we got? Oh, brilliant!

0:13:54 > 0:13:59Look, my mask and snorkel.

0:13:59 > 0:14:01And, of course, not forgetting...

0:14:01 > 0:14:04my beach ball. Brilliant!

0:14:04 > 0:14:06Ooh. Look.

0:14:06 > 0:14:11There's also lots of shells in here too.

0:14:11 > 0:14:15Now, I found this one when I went diving under the sea.

0:14:27 > 0:14:29BUBBLING

0:14:33 > 0:14:36- MUFFLED:- I love swimming under the sea!

0:14:36 > 0:14:39What? Oh! Sorry. Sorry.

0:14:39 > 0:14:43I said, "I love swimming under the sea!" Yeah!

0:14:43 > 0:14:47- It's given me a great idea. - DING!

0:14:47 > 0:14:48Let's make something.

0:14:48 > 0:14:51A super-shimmering shell grotto

0:14:51 > 0:14:54that looks like it's on the bottom of the sea.

0:14:54 > 0:14:59Let's make it! We'll need some things from the Doodle Drawers.

0:15:01 > 0:15:03Some shells...

0:15:05 > 0:15:08..some paint...

0:15:10 > 0:15:13..a paper plate... Ooh.

0:15:16 > 0:15:19..some gloopy PVA glue...

0:15:21 > 0:15:24..and some and some glitter and a black pen.

0:15:24 > 0:15:28Woo! Plus we'll also need some air drying clay

0:15:28 > 0:15:32you can get from an arts and crafts shop. I'll be back in a tick.

0:15:34 > 0:15:37Right, I'll put our air drying clay there for now.

0:15:37 > 0:15:42Now, to make your very own shell grotto like this one here,

0:15:42 > 0:15:46you need to push some air drying clay...

0:15:46 > 0:15:49onto a paper plate like this..

0:15:53 > 0:15:57Now we're ready to bring in our shells

0:15:57 > 0:15:59and there are all sorts of types.

0:15:59 > 0:16:03It's a good idea to use a good mixture of shapes and sizes.

0:16:03 > 0:16:07Let's start placing them into the clay.

0:16:07 > 0:16:09Let's start with the biggest shell

0:16:09 > 0:16:12and we can push it into the clay,

0:16:12 > 0:16:14at the back, like this.

0:16:14 > 0:16:18You can arrange the other shells how you like

0:16:18 > 0:16:19and leave the clay to dry.

0:16:22 > 0:16:24When the clay's dry, like this...

0:16:24 > 0:16:29you can paint your shell grotto a nice underwater colour,

0:16:29 > 0:16:33like a purple, a green or maybe even a blue.

0:16:33 > 0:16:37To do that, we need to make a painty mixture

0:16:37 > 0:16:40that's half paint and half gloopy glue.

0:16:40 > 0:16:42There we go. Let's give it a mix.

0:16:45 > 0:16:50Now, we can paint this painty mixture over our shell grotto.

0:16:54 > 0:16:58How about adding a few highlights with a shiny colour?

0:16:58 > 0:17:02Now, silver paint will work really well for this.

0:17:02 > 0:17:05Let's bring in some silver painty mixture

0:17:05 > 0:17:07and paint some on.

0:17:11 > 0:17:14There. While the paint's still wet,

0:17:14 > 0:17:18let's sprinkle some colourful glitter

0:17:18 > 0:17:21all over our shell grotto.

0:17:21 > 0:17:25The glitter will stick cos the paint is still wet.

0:17:25 > 0:17:28It'll make the grotto really sparkle.

0:17:28 > 0:17:31It's a good idea to do this on some old paper,

0:17:31 > 0:17:33some newspaper or...

0:17:33 > 0:17:34a tray,

0:17:34 > 0:17:37as this can get a bit messy.

0:17:40 > 0:17:44Then shake off all the extra glitter for this amazing effect.

0:17:46 > 0:17:48There.

0:17:49 > 0:17:51For the windows

0:17:51 > 0:17:55we can use a black pen to draw squares on our shells

0:17:55 > 0:17:58and we can paint them yellow in the middle.

0:17:58 > 0:18:01You can do as many windows as you want.

0:18:04 > 0:18:06Draw little black squares...

0:18:09 > 0:18:12..and then paint them yellow.

0:18:13 > 0:18:14What a brilliant effect!

0:18:14 > 0:18:18A fantastic shimmering shell grotto.

0:18:18 > 0:18:21And you can try any design you like.

0:18:21 > 0:18:25This one's covered in green paint and green glitter.

0:18:25 > 0:18:28Or how about using a bigger shell

0:18:28 > 0:18:31and adding some more shell buildings like this.

0:18:31 > 0:18:33Let's go!

0:18:33 > 0:18:34SPLASH!

0:18:40 > 0:18:45Oh! It's time to go!
