0:00:57 > 0:01:00Oh, hello. Nice to see you again.

0:01:00 > 0:01:01Oh! It's awful out there.

0:01:04 > 0:01:08WIND HOWLS

0:01:18 > 0:01:22Oh, no! I forgot to wipe my feet.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24Oh, what a mess.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26There are leaves everywhere.

0:01:26 > 0:01:30But I tell you what, they've given me a great idea.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32Let's try something.

0:01:32 > 0:01:37Try branching out with a brilliant leaf print picture.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Let's make it!

0:01:40 > 0:01:44We'll need some other things from the doodle drawers. Come on!

0:01:47 > 0:01:48Some paper.

0:01:51 > 0:01:52Some paint.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59And some paintbrushes and a glue stick.

0:01:59 > 0:02:00Whoa!

0:02:00 > 0:02:04Now, to make a leaf print picture, like this one here,

0:02:04 > 0:02:06take your green paper...

0:02:06 > 0:02:09and start to paint a hedgehog's head.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12Paint a grey triangle,

0:02:12 > 0:02:15because this makes a great snout shape.

0:02:18 > 0:02:22Look, I've added some black fork shapes for the feet.

0:02:22 > 0:02:26And blended in some brown paint to his snout.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28Now it's time for the fun bit.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31Let's put down some old paper...or newspaper,

0:02:31 > 0:02:33as this can get a bit messy.

0:02:33 > 0:02:38Now, we're going to take a leaf and turn it upside down

0:02:38 > 0:02:41so it's got the bumpy side facing up.

0:02:41 > 0:02:45And then we're going to paint some brown paint on top of it.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51Now, if we get some white paper

0:02:51 > 0:02:55and pick up our leaf very carefully,

0:02:55 > 0:02:58and place it paint side down.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02You can push very gently on top of it.

0:03:05 > 0:03:06And when we pick it up...

0:03:08 > 0:03:10..we get a leaf print.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12Wow, look at that!

0:03:12 > 0:03:16Carry on doing this, until you've covered your paper in prints.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27When the prints are dry, cut each leaf out.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30But be careful, because scissors are sharp.

0:03:30 > 0:03:31Whoo! Argh!

0:03:39 > 0:03:41Now we can give our hedgehog a body.

0:03:41 > 0:03:45We're going to stick the leaf prints with glue,

0:03:45 > 0:03:49but make sure all the leaves are pointing outwards

0:03:49 > 0:03:53to look like the hedgehog's spikes. Let's do it.

0:03:59 > 0:04:01Finish off with some black paint,

0:04:01 > 0:04:04and give your hedgehog eyes and a nose.

0:04:08 > 0:04:12It's Harry the hedgehog printed with the leaves he loves to play in.

0:04:12 > 0:04:15- Ha ha!- Keep it down, will you? I've only just woken up.

0:04:15 > 0:04:17Ooh, sorry, Harry.

0:04:17 > 0:04:21You can choose different types of leaves and try other ideas.

0:04:21 > 0:04:24How about a stag?

0:04:24 > 0:04:26It's made by painting a stag's body

0:04:26 > 0:04:30and printing antlers with curvy leaves.

0:04:30 > 0:04:33Or even a lion, which is made by painting a lion's face,

0:04:33 > 0:04:36and printing its mane with spiky leaves.

0:04:36 > 0:04:38Roar!

0:04:38 > 0:04:41Oh! Erm...I'm sure I can hear the shapes snoring,

0:04:41 > 0:04:44I'd better go and wake them up, yeah.

0:04:45 > 0:04:48Yes, it is the shapes snoring.

0:04:48 > 0:04:49They're asleep again.

0:04:50 > 0:04:52Let's wake them up!

0:06:47 > 0:06:50or you can make your own.

0:06:50 > 0:06:54Now, to make these springy eyes, you will need...

0:06:54 > 0:06:56four strips of coloured card...

0:06:56 > 0:06:58two circles of card...

0:06:58 > 0:07:01a pair of old sunglasses...

0:07:06 > 0:07:08a black pen...and some sticky tape.

0:07:08 > 0:07:13Now, do you think it's possible to make this in one minute?

0:07:13 > 0:07:19- You're 'aving a laugh.- Let's find out. I'll have to be quick.

0:07:19 > 0:07:23Don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Ready?

0:07:23 > 0:07:26Let's make it in a minute! Start the clock.

0:07:26 > 0:07:28I'm going to make a paper spring now

0:07:28 > 0:07:31by folding over one way with the strip,

0:07:31 > 0:07:35then the other way, then one way, the other way, one way,

0:07:35 > 0:07:39like this, over and over. There's one spring. Brilliant.

0:07:39 > 0:07:44I need to make another one. There we go. Let's spring into action.

0:07:44 > 0:07:46- Over there...- Faster! Faster!

0:07:46 > 0:07:50There we go, OK. Another spring. I need some glue.

0:07:50 > 0:07:52And put some on the end, there.

0:07:52 > 0:07:56And some on the end, there. Then put on my circles.

0:07:56 > 0:07:58Halfway there.

0:07:58 > 0:08:00Halfway already? Oh, no.

0:08:00 > 0:08:02Where are my circles? There they are.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05There's one...and there's two.

0:08:05 > 0:08:09These are going to be the eyes, so I need to get a black pen,

0:08:09 > 0:08:13and put a circle in the middle. There we are. There's a pupil there.

0:08:13 > 0:08:16And there's one there. Brilliant.

0:08:16 > 0:08:19I need to get a loop of sticky tape, like this,

0:08:19 > 0:08:23and put them on the glasses. There's one loop.

0:08:23 > 0:08:26Ten seconds! Oh, no, I'm running out of time.

0:08:26 > 0:08:30There's one eye and there's... the other one.

0:08:30 > 0:08:32- I've done it! - BUZZER SOUNDS

0:08:32 > 0:08:34Only just.

0:08:34 > 0:08:36If you've got more than a minute,

0:08:36 > 0:08:40you could make some other silly springy eyes. Oh!

0:08:40 > 0:08:43Very funny. It looks like I've got robot eyes.

0:08:44 > 0:08:48Oh! How about dizzy eye glasses?

0:08:48 > 0:08:50The sillier the better.

0:08:50 > 0:08:54Silly springy glasses. Why don't you make them in a minute?

0:08:54 > 0:08:56Here's a reminder of how to do it.

0:08:56 > 0:09:00Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

0:09:00 > 0:09:03Take four coloured strips of paper

0:09:03 > 0:09:07and fold them together like this to make two paper springs.

0:09:07 > 0:09:09Glue on two coloured circles

0:09:09 > 0:09:12and put stickers with dots on for eyes.

0:09:12 > 0:09:15Then stick your springs onto your glasses

0:09:15 > 0:09:18to finish your silly springy eyes.

0:09:19 > 0:09:23Why don't you try and make it in a minute?

0:09:23 > 0:09:25ALL: Hello, Mister Maker!

0:09:25 > 0:09:28ALL: Guess what we're making today!

0:09:28 > 0:09:31Ooh, I don't know. Let's find out.

0:09:38 > 0:09:39I'm black.

0:09:47 > 0:09:49I'm dark blue.

0:09:50 > 0:09:52I'm yellow.

0:09:56 > 0:09:57I'm light blue.

0:10:11 > 0:10:13I am grey.

0:10:18 > 0:10:20ALL: It's a helicopter!

0:10:21 > 0:10:24Well done, everyone. See you next time.

0:10:24 > 0:10:26Now, it's time to...

0:10:27 > 0:10:29..frame it.

0:10:30 > 0:10:31Frame it.

0:10:32 > 0:10:33Frame it.

0:10:34 > 0:10:37Now, take a look at this.

0:10:39 > 0:10:41This is a fantastic junk robot picture.

0:10:41 > 0:10:45It looks so good you'll be able to frame it.

0:10:47 > 0:10:49You'll need some dark paper,

0:10:49 > 0:10:52different types of silver shiny paper, scissors,

0:10:52 > 0:10:54a glue stick, a pen,

0:10:54 > 0:10:55some glitter,

0:10:55 > 0:10:59fancy ribbon, and finally, a star and some stickers.

0:11:01 > 0:11:04To make your junk robot picture, draw a rectangle shape

0:11:04 > 0:11:07on some silver paper and then cut it out.

0:11:07 > 0:11:10This is going to be your robot's body.

0:11:10 > 0:11:14Place it on the dark paper, which we will use as the background.

0:11:14 > 0:11:17Draw a head, hands and feet,

0:11:17 > 0:11:19and then carefully cut them out.

0:11:21 > 0:11:24Now that you've got your head shape, cut it in half

0:11:24 > 0:11:27to give your robot a big mouth like this.

0:11:27 > 0:11:29Arrange the head, feet and hands

0:11:29 > 0:11:33roughly where you think they should go on the paper.

0:11:33 > 0:11:35But don't stick them down yet.

0:11:35 > 0:11:39You can make details for the robot's body out of shiny paper.

0:11:39 > 0:11:43And make robot eyes by drawing on white stickers.

0:11:45 > 0:11:48To make the robot's arms and legs, take your ribbon

0:11:48 > 0:11:52which you can twist to make a funny, curly effect.

0:11:52 > 0:11:56When you're happy with your robot, stick everything down.

0:11:56 > 0:11:57You can even add a star.

0:11:57 > 0:12:01Now, to make your picture out of this world,

0:12:01 > 0:12:03put a circle of glue in the top corner,

0:12:03 > 0:12:06and more along the bottom of the page,

0:12:06 > 0:12:08add some lines to your star,

0:12:08 > 0:12:11and then sprinkle some glitter all over the glue.

0:12:13 > 0:12:16Shake off the extra glitter and sweep it up.

0:12:16 > 0:12:19Look! The glittery has stuck to the glue

0:12:19 > 0:12:21making a fantastic junk robot picture.

0:12:21 > 0:12:23What a brilliant picture.

0:12:23 > 0:12:26Why don't you have a go? And then...

0:12:27 > 0:12:28..frame it.

0:12:29 > 0:12:33Very impressive. Now for something really special.

0:12:33 > 0:12:36Take a look at this.

0:12:37 > 0:12:39It's my magic pencil.

0:12:39 > 0:12:41And it can draw pictures all on its own.

0:12:41 > 0:12:43Watch this.

0:12:47 > 0:12:49Here it goes. My magic pencil.

0:12:50 > 0:12:52What's it up to this time?

0:12:57 > 0:13:00Can you guess what it's drawing?

0:13:01 > 0:13:05Round and round my pencil goes, what it draws no-one knows.

0:13:07 > 0:13:10Wow! It's a skier. Well done, magic pencil.

0:13:10 > 0:13:13Now, what's going on here?

0:13:16 > 0:13:22Ooh, it's very dark outside...and very spooky.

0:13:22 > 0:13:25Ooh! Talking of spooky,

0:13:25 > 0:13:29yesterday morning, I had a real fright.

0:13:30 > 0:13:34'I had just woken up after a very nice dream about chocolate cake,

0:13:34 > 0:13:37'when I turned over and saw something

0:13:37 > 0:13:39'that nearly made me jump out of my skin.

0:13:39 > 0:13:43'Next to my bed, I could see a funny-looking creature

0:13:43 > 0:13:45'with big googly eyes, flappy ears,

0:13:45 > 0:13:47'and mad, crazy hair.

0:13:49 > 0:13:53'Then I realised I was just looking in my bedside mirror

0:13:53 > 0:13:55'and that is was actually my googly eyes,

0:13:55 > 0:13:59'my big ears and my mad crazy bed hair

0:13:59 > 0:14:01'that I was looking at.'

0:14:01 > 0:14:03Ha! Ha! How could I have been so silly?

0:14:03 > 0:14:08But never mind, that spooky morning gave me a great idea.

0:14:08 > 0:14:11Let's make something.

0:14:11 > 0:14:13A great but gruesome jar

0:14:13 > 0:14:16to protect your favourite bits and pieces.

0:14:16 > 0:14:17Let's make it.

0:14:17 > 0:14:21We'll need some things from the doodle drawers.

0:14:23 > 0:14:25A plastic jar...

0:14:27 > 0:14:29..coloured paint...

0:14:31 > 0:14:33..a pencil and some paintbrushes.

0:14:36 > 0:14:37Some gloopy glue...

0:14:38 > 0:14:41..and a rolling pin and an old tray.

0:14:42 > 0:14:46Whoa! Now, we also need some air drying clay.

0:14:46 > 0:14:50You can get that from an art and craft shop. Back in a tick.

0:14:51 > 0:14:52ENGINE RUNS

0:14:53 > 0:14:56Here it is. There's our air drying clay.

0:14:56 > 0:14:59Now, to make a gruesome jar,

0:14:59 > 0:15:00like this one here

0:15:00 > 0:15:04you first need to get a ball of air drying clay.

0:15:06 > 0:15:09Then you roll it out onto an old tray.

0:15:09 > 0:15:12Let's get our rolling pin and start rolling.

0:15:17 > 0:15:20Make sure that you roll out enough clay

0:15:20 > 0:15:22so you can fit your whole hand

0:15:22 > 0:15:24on top of it, there.

0:15:24 > 0:15:28That looks about right. Now, let's get a sharp pencil.

0:15:28 > 0:15:31We're going to draw around our hand

0:15:31 > 0:15:34pushing firmly into the clay.

0:15:34 > 0:15:39Now, this cuts out the shape of your hand.

0:15:39 > 0:15:42Now, draw a bit bigger than your hand shape.

0:15:43 > 0:15:45So it looks even more monster-like.

0:15:45 > 0:15:48Look. There's our big hand shape.

0:15:48 > 0:15:51Now, very carefully, we need to peel away

0:15:51 > 0:15:54all the rest of the clay around the hand shape

0:15:54 > 0:15:58but be careful, you want to leave your fingers safe and sound.

0:15:58 > 0:16:00Don't break any off.

0:16:05 > 0:16:07Now get a plastic jar.

0:16:07 > 0:16:11And very carefully, bend the fingers of the clay

0:16:11 > 0:16:13around the jar.

0:16:13 > 0:16:14Here we go.

0:16:14 > 0:16:16Let's put it on.

0:16:17 > 0:16:19Like that.

0:16:19 > 0:16:20As you push it down,

0:16:20 > 0:16:23it looks as if the fingers are holding on to it.

0:16:23 > 0:16:28Now, you can give the fingers a bit of a squeeze like this

0:16:28 > 0:16:30to make them look even better.

0:16:34 > 0:16:37Then, let's put some blobs of clay

0:16:37 > 0:16:39onto the hand

0:16:39 > 0:16:42and the bony parts of the fingers.

0:16:51 > 0:16:55You can even squeeze the end of the fingernails

0:16:55 > 0:16:57to make them into spooky long nails.

0:16:59 > 0:17:01Keep going until you've done all your fingers,

0:17:01 > 0:17:04then leave it until it's nearly dry.

0:17:06 > 0:17:10You're now ready to paint your clay hand a spooky colour,

0:17:10 > 0:17:11like gruesome green

0:17:11 > 0:17:15or whatever you want, really. Because it's not quite dry,

0:17:15 > 0:17:20it's easy to take off the hand and paint underneath it as well.

0:17:28 > 0:17:31You can add some extra detail to your gruesome hand

0:17:31 > 0:17:36by painting dark green on the fingers and the rest of the hand,
