0:01:09 > 0:01:12Look, it's a beautiful bird!

0:01:12 > 0:01:14Fantastic!

0:01:15 > 0:01:17Oh, dear,

0:01:17 > 0:01:20but look at the mess I've made with all that snipping.

0:01:20 > 0:01:22I tell you what, though,

0:01:22 > 0:01:24it gives me a great idea.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27Let's try something!

0:01:28 > 0:01:32Try using snipped up paper to make a fantastic picture.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34Let's make it!

0:01:36 > 0:01:40We'll need some things from the doodle drawers!

0:01:42 > 0:01:45Some coloured paper...

0:01:47 > 0:01:50..some glue...

0:01:52 > 0:01:55..and some scissors.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57Whoa!

0:01:57 > 0:02:02Now, to make a snipped picture like this one here

0:02:02 > 0:02:07take some pieces of coloured paper, and cut them into large triangles.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10But be careful, because scissors are sharp.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12GROWLING

0:02:15 > 0:02:20Cut out lots of long, thin triangles in different sizes and colours.

0:02:25 > 0:02:29When you're happy with all of your snipped pieces...

0:02:29 > 0:02:35- Are you happy with your pieces? - Yes I'm happy with my pieces!

0:02:35 > 0:02:37Great!

0:02:37 > 0:02:41Then you'll need a piece of coloured paper like this,

0:02:41 > 0:02:43for your background.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46You can choose whatever colour you like.

0:02:46 > 0:02:50And then stick all of your pieces down with glue.

0:02:50 > 0:02:56It looks really good if all the pieces point toward the middle.

0:02:56 > 0:03:01Start at the bottom of your picture with the biggest triangles,

0:03:01 > 0:03:06then build your picture up, leaving the smallest triangles on top.

0:03:29 > 0:03:32When it's finished, it looks like this!

0:03:32 > 0:03:33Doesn't it look great?

0:03:33 > 0:03:36A clever picture made out of snipped paper.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39There are other patterns you could try too.

0:03:39 > 0:03:43Using lots...

0:03:43 > 0:03:45..and lots...

0:03:45 > 0:03:47..of different colours!

0:03:47 > 0:03:52You can even point the triangles the other way if you like.

0:03:52 > 0:03:54Fantastic snipped pictures!

0:03:54 > 0:03:59Inspired by the super snipping of my amazing hedge here. Wahey!

0:06:17 > 0:06:19TAMBOURINE JINGLES

0:06:19 > 0:06:23Ha! And to make one of these, you will need...

0:06:23 > 0:06:25an empty sweet tube,

0:06:25 > 0:06:27a glue stick,

0:06:27 > 0:06:29three pieces of pipe cleaner,

0:06:29 > 0:06:30a strip of card,

0:06:30 > 0:06:34and three pet balls, that you can get from a pet shop.

0:06:34 > 0:06:38Do you think it's possible to make this in one minute?

0:06:38 > 0:06:39No way!

0:06:39 > 0:06:41Oh, really, Tockey?!

0:06:41 > 0:06:46I think I can do it, although I will have to be very quick.

0:06:46 > 0:06:50Don't worry though, I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Ready?

0:06:50 > 0:06:53Right, let's make it in a minute!

0:06:53 > 0:06:55Let's get our pet balls,

0:06:55 > 0:06:59and we're going to feed our pipe cleaner

0:06:59 > 0:07:01through the balls like that,

0:07:01 > 0:07:03let's do another one,

0:07:03 > 0:07:07there it goes, through.

0:07:07 > 0:07:11And then the last pipe cleaner goes through this pet ball.

0:07:11 > 0:07:15Now let's get our strip of card and lay it out.

0:07:15 > 0:07:18We're going to put one at the top here, first,

0:07:18 > 0:07:23I'm going to wrap the pipe cleaner around, there we go,

0:07:23 > 0:07:25like that, so it's in place.

0:07:25 > 0:07:30Then one in the middle, wrapping that round,

0:07:30 > 0:07:32so it's nice and tight, in position.

0:07:32 > 0:07:35And last but not least, at the bottom.

0:07:35 > 0:07:36Faster!

0:07:36 > 0:07:38I'm going quick as I can!

0:07:38 > 0:07:41Let's make sure they're all in position.

0:07:41 > 0:07:43I think they are, yes.

0:07:43 > 0:07:46Let's get our sweet tube and put glue on both ends.

0:07:46 > 0:07:48That end, and that end there.

0:07:48 > 0:07:50I better hurry up!

0:07:50 > 0:07:53If we stick our strip there and there,

0:07:53 > 0:07:56we can make some music, with our tambourine!

0:07:57 > 0:07:58Only just!

0:07:58 > 0:08:01Not bad, eh?!

0:08:01 > 0:08:05If you've got more time, you could decorate the handle

0:08:05 > 0:08:06by painting it.

0:08:06 > 0:08:08Nice!

0:08:08 > 0:08:13You could even add some stickers to decorate it.

0:08:15 > 0:08:22Ooh! Why not try using a bigger sweet tube, and lots more balls!

0:08:23 > 0:08:27Hey, hey! An easy tambourine, made in a minute!

0:08:27 > 0:08:31Why don't you try? Here's a reminder of how to do it.

0:08:31 > 0:08:33Let's go back to the beginning,

0:08:33 > 0:08:35and take another look.

0:08:35 > 0:08:39Feed the pipe-cleaner pieces through the pet balls,

0:08:39 > 0:08:44wrap the ends of the cleaners and around the card and space them out,

0:08:44 > 0:08:47stick the card to the tube,

0:08:47 > 0:08:49and your easy tambourine is complete!

0:08:53 > 0:08:56Why don't you try and make it in a minute?!

0:08:56 > 0:08:59ALL: Hello, Mister Maker!

0:08:59 > 0:09:00Hello, everyone!

0:09:00 > 0:09:02Watch this!

0:09:05 > 0:09:07THEY GIGGLE AND CHAT

0:09:08 > 0:09:11I'm light blue.

0:09:18 > 0:09:20I'm yellow!

0:09:23 > 0:09:25I am red.

0:09:27 > 0:09:29I am orange!

0:09:31 > 0:09:32I am grey!

0:09:35 > 0:09:37I am green.

0:09:43 > 0:09:47ALL: It's an iron!

0:09:47 > 0:09:49Well done, everyone!

0:09:49 > 0:09:51See you soon! Now it's time to...

0:09:51 > 0:09:52Frame It!

0:09:53 > 0:09:55Frame it!

0:09:56 > 0:09:57Frame it!

0:09:58 > 0:10:02Now, take a look at this!

0:10:03 > 0:10:07This wonderful woolly plane picture is great fun to do,

0:10:07 > 0:10:10and looks so good, you'll be able to frame it.

0:10:10 > 0:10:14You will need wool, blue card, a pencil,

0:10:14 > 0:10:19a paintbrush, scissors, and PVA gloopy glue!

0:10:20 > 0:10:24Use a pencil to draw a plane on the card.

0:10:24 > 0:10:29You can use any colour you like - but blue looks good - for the sky.

0:10:31 > 0:10:34Spread glue all over the plane,

0:10:38 > 0:10:43then decide what colour you want the different parts of your plane to be.

0:10:43 > 0:10:46Start to colour the plane in with wool, like this.

0:10:46 > 0:10:51For each part of the plane, stick the wool on in different patterns.

0:10:51 > 0:10:56To finish your picture stick woolly smoke at the back of the plane

0:10:56 > 0:10:59to make it look like it's flying through the sky!

0:10:59 > 0:11:03Doesn't that look fantastic?! What a brilliant picture!

0:11:03 > 0:11:06Why don't you have a go? And then...

0:11:06 > 0:11:07frame it!

0:11:08 > 0:11:11Wow! What a great effect!

0:11:11 > 0:11:14I like making picture out of all sorts of things, so...

0:11:14 > 0:11:17let's make a picture out of...

0:11:20 > 0:11:22..pencil sharpeners!

0:11:22 > 0:11:25Whoa! Ha-ha-ha! Oh!

0:11:25 > 0:11:28Oooh, oooh!

0:11:31 > 0:11:32Ho-ho!

0:11:46 > 0:11:48What are they going to make?

0:11:52 > 0:11:55It's a beetle!

0:11:55 > 0:11:57Now, what's going on here?

0:11:58 > 0:11:59Ooh!

0:11:59 > 0:12:03I'm just reading this book about birds! It's very interesting.

0:12:03 > 0:12:09As well as being able to swim and fly, birds can also sing.

0:12:09 > 0:12:11Yes, it's true! Ha-ha!

0:12:11 > 0:12:14I wonder if they can do anything else.

0:12:14 > 0:12:17Do you think they can play games? Hmmmm.

0:12:19 > 0:12:21On my beak, Mr Penguin!

0:12:24 > 0:12:26Goal!

0:12:26 > 0:12:28CROWD CHEERS

0:12:28 > 0:12:31Ha-ha-ha! No, that's taking it too far!

0:12:31 > 0:12:35Birds playing games! Honestly!

0:12:35 > 0:12:37Or is it...?

0:12:37 > 0:12:40Flapping feathers, I'm having an idea!

0:12:40 > 0:12:41Let's make something!

0:12:41 > 0:12:45Make a fantastically funny bird hoop game

0:12:45 > 0:12:47to play with your friends.

0:12:47 > 0:12:51Let's make it! We'll need some things from the doodle drawers!

0:12:54 > 0:12:59A large washing liquid bottle, with a large handle...

0:13:01 > 0:13:04..some tissue paper and a pen...

0:13:06 > 0:13:08..some feathers...

0:13:10 > 0:13:14..some paints...

0:13:16 > 0:13:21..some gloopy PVA glue, and a colourful paper plate!

0:13:21 > 0:13:23Whoa!

0:13:23 > 0:13:27We also need some play sand, which you can find in a toy shop.

0:13:27 > 0:13:28Be back in a tick!

0:13:30 > 0:13:32CAR ENGINE SCREECHES

0:13:33 > 0:13:34I've got it!

0:13:36 > 0:13:38Our play sand!

0:13:38 > 0:13:42Now, have a look at this funny bird hoop game!

0:13:42 > 0:13:44And here's how it works.

0:13:44 > 0:13:47You have a hoop, you have a funny bird,

0:13:47 > 0:13:49throw the hoop over the bird,

0:13:49 > 0:13:51and hooray!

0:13:51 > 0:13:53It's a fantastic game!

0:13:53 > 0:13:56Now to make on, you need to start off

0:13:56 > 0:13:59with a large washing liquid bottle like this,

0:13:59 > 0:14:03and you need to make sure it's nice and clean.

0:14:03 > 0:14:07It's a good idea to get an adult to help you with this bit.

0:14:07 > 0:14:08Then, unscrew the top,

0:14:08 > 0:14:14and we're going to very carefully pour in some play sand.

0:14:15 > 0:14:20We need to pour in just enough sand to make it nice and heavy

0:14:20 > 0:14:22so the bottle doesn't topple over.

0:14:27 > 0:14:31Now we can screw the lid back on tightly.

0:14:33 > 0:14:39Now we're going to cover the entire bottle in ripped-up tissue paper,

0:14:39 > 0:14:43and a very special gloopy mixture,

0:14:43 > 0:14:47which is made out of half gloopy glue,

0:14:49 > 0:14:50and half water.

0:14:52 > 0:14:54Let's give it a mix.

0:14:57 > 0:15:00There we go. It's nicely mixed-up now.

0:15:00 > 0:15:04We're going to make sure we cover the whole bottle

0:15:04 > 0:15:08in the gloopy mixture tissue paper, and when we're finished,

0:15:08 > 0:15:10we'll leave it to dry.

0:15:12 > 0:15:15When it's nice and dry,

0:15:15 > 0:15:18we can start painting.

0:15:18 > 0:15:21How about we paint on two large white dots for eyes,

0:15:21 > 0:15:24a nice bright orange beak,

0:15:24 > 0:15:29and then you can paint the rest of the bird whatever colour you like!

0:15:29 > 0:15:31I think I might do this one, blue.

0:15:37 > 0:15:39When the paint is dry,

0:15:39 > 0:15:43we can add some details with a black pen.

0:15:48 > 0:15:50And for a finishing touch

0:15:50 > 0:15:55let's give our bird some nice feathery wings.

0:15:55 > 0:15:57So for that, of course,

0:15:57 > 0:16:02we need our feathers here, here they are, ready to be put on,

0:16:02 > 0:16:04with some gloopy glue.

0:16:07 > 0:16:09Now press on your feathers,

0:16:11 > 0:16:12like this,

0:16:13 > 0:16:16and then hold them down in place,

0:16:16 > 0:16:17until they dry.

0:16:17 > 0:16:20And then do the same on the other side.

0:16:20 > 0:16:23What a fantastic feathery effect!

0:16:23 > 0:16:25He looks great!

0:16:25 > 0:16:30Let's just move our bird over here, because now we need to make a hoop,

0:16:30 > 0:16:32with a paper plate.

0:16:32 > 0:16:35A nice coloured one like this looks really good.

0:16:35 > 0:16:39We also need a ball of modelling clay and a very sharp pencil.

0:16:39 > 0:16:46What we're going to do is put the clay under the plate, like that,

0:16:46 > 0:16:49and then, very carefully, with the sharp pencil,

0:16:49 > 0:16:54we're going to push through the middle of the plate, into the clay,

0:16:54 > 0:16:55to make a hole.

0:16:55 > 0:16:59Then if we take out the pencil, remove the clay, like that,

0:16:59 > 0:17:03we're left with a plate with a hole in the middle.

0:17:03 > 0:17:08This hole will help us cut out the middle of the plate.

0:17:08 > 0:17:13We're going to cut very carefully all the way around here.

0:17:13 > 0:17:15Now this is a bit tricky,

0:17:15 > 0:17:19so you might want to ask an adult to help you with this bit.

0:17:19 > 0:17:21Here we go.

0:17:23 > 0:17:27Now, be very careful with your scissors,

0:17:27 > 0:17:30because they're sharp, you know! Oh, yes.

0:17:30 > 0:17:31- GROWLING - Oooh!

0:17:37 > 0:17:39You can make lots of rings

0:17:39 > 0:17:42so as many people as you like can play!

0:17:44 > 0:17:45Fantastic!
