:00:25. > :00:34.The footballing future of this place is looking

:00:35. > :00:35.particularly bright, especially if this lot

:01:22. > :01:28.Full of local footballing talent so we

:01:29. > :01:31.thought we would put them through their paces with a challenge.

:01:32. > :01:33.Who better to help with that challenge

:01:34. > :01:35.than one of the world's best football freestylers?

:01:36. > :01:40.Well, I can't tell you too much about it, other than

:01:41. > :01:44.that it involves some hula hooping, and a time

:01:45. > :01:50.In the meantime, why don't we check out some of the Tiger's

:01:51. > :02:02.And the substitute has drawn Hull level.

:02:03. > :02:55.So you have seen the goals and met some

:02:56. > :02:59.Time now to find out all about this amazing

:03:00. > :03:05.city courtesy of some of our new friends from Hall Road Rangers.

:03:06. > :03:18.The first thing you should know about Hull is it is not

:03:19. > :03:28.About 250 years ago a man named William Wilberforce was

:03:29. > :03:33.He was very important in abolishing the slave trade.

:03:34. > :03:35.There is always loads going on in Hull.

:03:36. > :03:41.But this year there is even more because

:03:42. > :03:43.Hull is the UK's city of culture for 2017.

:03:44. > :03:47.There have been brilliant events all year.

:03:48. > :03:51.We even hosted radio one's Big Weekend.

:03:52. > :03:59.If you are visiting Hull I would take you to

:04:00. > :04:03.the Street Life Museum because it will show you how people in Hull

:04:04. > :04:10.I would take you to the Holy Trinity minster because it is a

:04:11. > :04:13.And I would take you to the KCOM stadium, but I'll let

:04:14. > :04:35.We are nicknamed the Tigers because of our distinctive orange

:04:36. > :04:43.The stadium can hold over 25,000 people and we share

:04:44. > :04:52.Hull City started in 1904 and we have had some rocky

:04:53. > :04:57.In 1999 we nearly got relegated out the football league

:04:58. > :05:02.In the next nine years we got better and better and in 2008

:05:03. > :05:05.we got to the play-off final at Wembley.

:05:06. > :05:09.Striker Dean Windass, who was a local lad, scored a great

:05:10. > :05:16.volly to win us the game and got us into the Premier League.

:05:17. > :05:21.Dean Windass puts Hull City into the lead.

:05:22. > :05:26.In 2014 we got through to the FA Cup final by

:05:27. > :05:33.After ten minutes of the final we

:05:34. > :05:45.But Arsenal came back in extra time to win it.

:05:46. > :06:08.That was fantastic learning all about

:06:09. > :06:11.What are your memories of this stadium?

:06:12. > :06:16.My first ever game was when we played Manchester United.

:06:17. > :06:24.He called me cheeky because I said we were better

:06:25. > :06:27.One of my first memories is probably when I

:06:28. > :06:32.We walked out with thousands of people clapping

:06:33. > :06:37.It is rather fitting we should be talking about Hull's

:06:38. > :06:41.footballing history as it relates to the challenge we will be taking

:06:42. > :06:47.Back in 1970 Hull were involved in the first ever

:06:48. > :06:49.penalty shoot out in English professional football.

:06:50. > :06:51.Their opponents that day, a certain Manchester

:06:52. > :06:53.United, who boasted among their ranks George Best, Bobby Charlton

:06:54. > :07:00.Needless to say Hull did not emerge victorious and they

:07:01. > :07:03.were amongst the first of us to experience the pain and anguish

:07:04. > :07:06.associated with penalties penalty shoot outs.

:07:07. > :07:45.One of the worst penalties you will see.

:07:46. > :08:30.The agony. I figured out three steps. The first is figuring out

:08:31. > :08:45.where you want the ball to go and not changing your mind.

:08:46. > :08:58.The second step is confidence. Relax. Lots of people rush a penalty

:08:59. > :09:08.but there is no need to rush it. 1-1. Very cool indeed.

:09:09. > :09:20.The third and final step is once you hit the ball hit it cleanly and hit

:09:21. > :09:28.it on target. Fantastic. We need to hit a target.

:09:29. > :09:32.When I was younger lot of players doneness, they put the group and one

:09:33. > :09:45.of the corn laws knowing if the ball went through it it was the perfect

:09:46. > :09:49.penalty -- they put a hoop. There you have it. The challenge is

:09:50. > :09:51.to score the perfect penalty and that should look a little something

:09:52. > :10:14.like this. Right, whilst Hall Road Rangers cry

:10:15. > :10:18.and master the perfect penalty John and I are going to take a look

:10:19. > :10:45.around Hull. Oh, Hull. I drew up each a few miles

:10:46. > :10:51.down the road and even though they have been bitter rivals to my Leeds

:10:52. > :10:53.United, I cannot help but love the city. It's fantastic. Isn't that

:10:54. > :11:17.right, John? John? Not only can you go over the water,

:11:18. > :12:20.you can go under it as well, well, sort of.

:12:21. > :12:27.It is the only city in the UK to have developed its own municipal

:12:28. > :12:36.Telephone system resulting in these unique and rather snazzy white phone

:12:37. > :12:59.boxes. Gaunt, John. Do the honours. # Drawn, John. Yes!

:13:00. > :13:11.OK, sorry to interrupt, but can I have a cool. Pick your sport and try

:13:12. > :13:12.and hit it cleanly. Things do go wrong sometimes. I will let you

:13:13. > :13:48.carry on. Sorry. Well done. Great go in goal but it's

:13:49. > :13:49.time for you to take some penalties and time for a goalkeeping

:13:50. > :14:29.masterclass. Is that in? That was awesome.

:14:30. > :14:35.Well, there you have it. If this lot are anything to go by in the future

:14:36. > :14:40.of England's penalty taking is in safe hands. Or feet. We have had a

:14:41. > :14:46.fantastic time here at Hall Road Rangers in Hull. That is all for

:14:47. > :14:50.now. See you. Goodbye!
