0:00:48 > 0:00:51Hello. Mr Bloom here. And I like going here and there

0:00:51 > 0:00:54to find out about where you live and what you like to do.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57And, today, the route-finder's brought me

0:00:57 > 0:00:58all the way to Leicestershire.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00I'm starting off me day

0:01:00 > 0:01:03having a look round this rather interesting castle.

0:01:03 > 0:01:06And I know lots of Tiddlers that live in Leicestershire, too.

0:01:06 > 0:01:11Yeah, they like to keep busy getting up to all sorts of brilliant things.

0:01:11 > 0:01:12ROUTE-FINDER RINGS

0:01:12 > 0:01:15Oh, it looks like the route-finder is going to show us.

0:01:15 > 0:01:20There are animals to see. Ahh, just look at all these birds!

0:01:20 > 0:01:24I know a Tiddler that likes to go riding.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27And others who love to dance.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29There are lots of places to play.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31BOTH: Ha-ha!

0:01:31 > 0:01:34And museums to spend a day!

0:01:34 > 0:01:38Ahh, it's no wonder these Tiddlers love where they live.

0:01:49 > 0:01:51Oh! Mmm.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55This here is Rockingham Castle.

0:01:55 > 0:01:59And I tell you, I'm very impressed with these gardens.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02Mmm, they're lovely, aren't they? And all these plants,

0:02:02 > 0:02:05they'll be needing plenty of sunshine, plenty of water

0:02:05 > 0:02:08and I bet they only use the best compost.

0:02:08 > 0:02:09ROUTE-FINDER RINGS

0:02:09 > 0:02:13Hey, it's Kian. Well, now, Kian and his friends

0:02:13 > 0:02:17know all about making compost. I went along to visit them

0:02:17 > 0:02:20and a composting expert called Rod.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25- Hey, hello there, Tiddlers! - ALL: Hello, Mr Bloom!

0:02:25 > 0:02:28Aww, it's nice to see you. What are you up to?

0:02:28 > 0:02:31- We're doing composting. - Composting, eh?

0:02:31 > 0:02:35The waste goes in the top and compost comes out the bottom.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38That's right, Tiegan. Well done!

0:02:38 > 0:02:43That compost will help flowers and plants to grow.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46And Rod, how does all the waste get turned into compost?

0:02:46 > 0:02:50There's lots of creatures that live in the compost and,

0:02:50 > 0:02:53most important, are lots and lots of worms.

0:02:53 > 0:02:55Most of them will eat the food

0:02:55 > 0:02:58and what comes out the other end is compost.

0:02:58 > 0:03:02The other animal that you find in compost bins are ants.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04What are they doing, Kian?

0:03:04 > 0:03:08They're crawling on some sludgy thing.

0:03:08 > 0:03:12And in this one, we have some very small flies.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15I can see them! They're little, tiny dots moving.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18Oh, yeah! They are tiny, aren't they?

0:03:18 > 0:03:22Well, those insects and worms, they certainly have their work cut out

0:03:22 > 0:03:27turning all that waste into useful compost. Yeah, they were very busy.

0:03:27 > 0:03:31But I'm sure they were very happy. Ha-ha! Look, I can see for miles.

0:03:31 > 0:03:34It's like I've got a birdseye's view of everything.

0:03:34 > 0:03:35Yeah, it's fantastic!

0:03:35 > 0:03:39ROUTE-FINDER RINGS

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Oh! Would you look at that! It's a bird!

0:03:42 > 0:03:46And this bird is called an osprey. Yeah, and I met some Tiddlers

0:03:46 > 0:03:49from Rutland who were osprey experts.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52The daddy bird is just flying in with some fish.

0:03:52 > 0:03:57- Look, he's eating the fish!- Yeah! Yeah, he's eating it.

0:03:57 > 0:04:02There is someone out there. Look! He's having a bath.

0:04:02 > 0:04:04Having a bird bath. Ooh!

0:04:04 > 0:04:08Wow! These ospreys are really good at flying.

0:04:08 > 0:04:12- Eloise, do you know any places that they fly to?- Africa.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14Why do they go to Africa?

0:04:14 > 0:04:17Because it's nice and warm there and if they stayed here,

0:04:17 > 0:04:19- they'd get really cold.- Right!

0:04:19 > 0:04:23They fly all the ways to countries in Africa in the winter.

0:04:23 > 0:04:25And then come back here in the spring.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28Why do you think the birds keep coming back here?

0:04:28 > 0:04:30So they can lay their eggs.

0:04:30 > 0:04:34Ahh, yes! And there's a camera right beside the nest.

0:04:34 > 0:04:38So, we can see what happened when the ospreys laid their eggs.

0:04:38 > 0:04:40It's hatching!

0:04:40 > 0:04:43He's eating a fish. Oh, poor fish!

0:04:43 > 0:04:44I think he's enjoying it.

0:04:44 > 0:04:47And they're growing really quickly.

0:04:47 > 0:04:49They're fully grown now.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51They're getting ready to fly.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54Wow, well, they've certainly grown, haven't they, Tiddlers?

0:04:54 > 0:04:56Look at the size of them now.

0:04:56 > 0:05:00That is a fantastic journey that those ospreys go on.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02- What do you think?- ALL: Yeah!

0:05:05 > 0:05:10Ospreys fly a very long way. I'm not sure my wings could manage it.

0:05:10 > 0:05:12Ha-ha! But they are amazing birds.

0:05:12 > 0:05:16It was really good of Harry and his friends to introduce me.

0:05:16 > 0:05:19But it's not just ospreys that you get around here. No, no.

0:05:19 > 0:05:23There's loads of animals that have made themselves at home.

0:05:23 > 0:05:25- ROUTE-FINDER RINGS - Eh-up!

0:05:25 > 0:05:27I went to a farm where I met lots of cows

0:05:27 > 0:05:30and two Tiddlers called Jessica and Oliver.

0:05:30 > 0:05:32They introduced me to their Uncle David.

0:05:32 > 0:05:37Well, it looks like you got yourself a fine herd of cows here, Tiddlers.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40- What are cows good at doing? - Making milk.- That's right!

0:05:40 > 0:05:46And these cows look like they're ready to be milked.

0:05:46 > 0:05:49All right, then, David. What have we got here?

0:05:49 > 0:05:52Well, this is the milking parlour and these are the cows.

0:05:52 > 0:05:54- All right. Let's get to it. - Right, OK.

0:05:54 > 0:05:58The milk from these cows is going to be turned into cheese -

0:05:58 > 0:05:59Red Leicester cheese.

0:05:59 > 0:06:03The cheese making room needs to be kept very clean.

0:06:03 > 0:06:06So, we have to wear these special clothes.

0:06:06 > 0:06:09Then, the first job is to add the red colour to the milk.

0:06:09 > 0:06:11Very well done, Jessica.

0:06:11 > 0:06:14It's a very pretty batter, isn't it?

0:06:14 > 0:06:17What do we need to do next, Jessica?

0:06:17 > 0:06:20We need to separate the curds from the whey.

0:06:22 > 0:06:25Whey is the watery bit.

0:06:25 > 0:06:28The curds are the cheesy bits.

0:06:28 > 0:06:31And we cut the curd into blocks.

0:06:31 > 0:06:34Oh, that's a big one there.

0:06:34 > 0:06:36Then, we put them in the mill.

0:06:40 > 0:06:42Ooh, it's very heavy. Oh!

0:06:42 > 0:06:45We then put it in a press for two days.

0:06:45 > 0:06:48Now, how long before we get to taste some?

0:06:48 > 0:06:52- Seven months.- Seven months!

0:06:52 > 0:06:54Wow, that's a long time to wait.

0:06:54 > 0:06:58Luckily, Uncle David has some that is ready for us to eat.

0:06:58 > 0:06:59Thank you.

0:07:01 > 0:07:05Mmm! That tasted great! What do you reckon, Tiddlers?

0:07:05 > 0:07:07- Tastes really good.- Yeah?

0:07:07 > 0:07:11And it's all thanks to those cows, isn't it, Tiddlers?

0:07:11 > 0:07:13COW MOOS

0:07:13 > 0:07:15BOTH: Yeah!

0:07:15 > 0:07:18Hey, that cheese...ever so tasty.

0:07:18 > 0:07:20But it takes a lot of work and a lot of time

0:07:20 > 0:07:23to turn cow's milk into yummy cheese.

0:07:23 > 0:07:26Hey! And, I also, know some other Tiddlers who like to keep busy.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29Yeah, they were doing a spot of gardening.

0:07:29 > 0:07:33The next thing you know, they were selling the vegetables they'd grown.

0:07:33 > 0:07:35- ROUTE-FINDER RINGS - Ha-ha!

0:07:35 > 0:07:37I certainly enjoyed meeting them.

0:07:42 > 0:07:45Hey, these look like good onions to me!

0:07:45 > 0:07:47And what are you growing?

0:07:47 > 0:07:51We're growing some beetroot over there.

0:07:51 > 0:07:53Now, I can see you've got courgettes.

0:08:20 > 0:08:25What can we get for you? We've got some coriander there, haven't we?

0:08:25 > 0:08:27Ooo! You want to smell it? Mmm.

0:08:27 > 0:08:30- Go on, then! Come and get your vegetables.- Come on buy vegetables!

0:08:30 > 0:08:34- I'll have some fenugreek, I think. - You think? All right.
