0:04:05 > 0:04:08Well, rambling is going for a lovely walk in the countryside

0:04:08 > 0:04:10often with family and friends.

0:04:18 > 0:04:20Look at these old pictures.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23People have been enjoying rambling for many, many years

0:04:23 > 0:04:27and it's a great way to explore and see all kinds of different things,

0:04:27 > 0:04:29like walking in the woods or climbing a hill.

0:04:29 > 0:04:33And you might even see some wild animals.

0:05:33 > 0:05:35Watch out for this mud.

0:05:35 > 0:05:37So when Grandad David was a small boy,

0:05:37 > 0:05:39he found some treasure when he was out rambling.

0:05:39 > 0:05:43I wonder what they may find today?

0:05:48 > 0:05:50Yes, I can.

0:05:50 > 0:05:56- What can you see? - The old window!

0:05:56 > 0:05:58Good spotting, Veer.

0:06:05 > 0:06:09Shall we have a look at the map to see how far we came?

0:06:34 > 0:06:35Let's go.

0:06:38 > 0:06:41It's hard work being a rambler with lots of walking,

0:06:41 > 0:06:44but it's also fantastic to be outside in the fresh air

0:06:44 > 0:06:45with your grandad.

0:07:01 > 0:07:05But, of course, you never know what the weather's going to be like.

0:07:05 > 0:07:08The rain is coming down heavily, but Veer and his grandad

0:07:08 > 0:07:11have found a heritage centre to visit in the woods

0:07:11 > 0:07:13and shelter from the rain.

0:07:33 > 0:07:38Wowwee! Look at this old picture of some of Grandad David's brothers

0:07:38 > 0:07:40and sisters taken a long time ago.

0:07:40 > 0:07:44What was it like playing with all those brothers and sisters?

0:07:44 > 0:07:47Oh, it was lots of fun, Veer. We had a very big garden

0:07:47 > 0:07:51and when it was raining, we had a table in the garden as well

0:07:51 > 0:07:54and we used to sit underneath the table and pretend we were pirates.

0:07:54 > 0:07:58Pirates?! Now that sounds like fun!

0:08:00 > 0:08:04Wait till you see who else is at the heritage centre.

0:08:08 > 0:08:11Veer, this is Phillip the goat.

0:08:19 > 0:08:21Hello, Phillip.

0:08:21 > 0:08:24Did you know goats sometimes live high up in the mountains?

0:08:24 > 0:08:27- No. - That reminds me of a story.

0:08:27 > 0:08:30A couple of years ago, me and your mum,

0:08:30 > 0:08:32we went up high in the Himalaya mountains.

0:08:32 > 0:08:35Now long did it take you to go there?

0:08:35 > 0:08:37Oh, it took us a very long time.

0:08:37 > 0:08:42We left early in the morning and we got there late in the evening.

0:08:42 > 0:08:44It was very high up.

0:08:44 > 0:08:46What did you see at the top of the mountain?

0:08:46 > 0:08:48Oh, we had a fantastic view.

0:08:48 > 0:08:51You could see the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest.

0:08:51 > 0:08:53And it was covered in snow.

0:08:53 > 0:08:56We saw the blue sky and we could see for miles around us.

0:08:56 > 0:08:59Oh, wow!

0:09:07 > 0:09:09The Himalayas are a huge range of mountains

0:09:09 > 0:09:13that are so big that they reach across a few different countries,

0:09:13 > 0:09:16including India where Grandad David was born.

0:09:16 > 0:09:20The Himalayas are a long way from Wales.

0:09:22 > 0:09:24And look how beautiful they are!

0:09:26 > 0:09:29Here's a goat climbing up the mountains.

0:09:29 > 0:09:31How did it get up there?!

0:09:35 > 0:09:37Grandad David and Veer's mummy Sharon

0:09:37 > 0:09:42walked up a footpath that took them very, very high up a mountain.

0:09:42 > 0:09:46The very biggest mountain in the Himalayas is called Mount Everest

0:09:46 > 0:09:50and Grandad David has seen it, but didn't climb it.

0:09:50 > 0:09:55Only expert mountain climbers can climb Mount Everest.

0:10:00 > 0:10:03I wonder what else they might find at the heritage centre?

0:10:07 > 0:10:10Veer, when we were small we used to camping all the time

0:10:10 > 0:10:12with my brothers and my friends.

0:10:12 > 0:10:14And sometimes it would be raining

0:10:14 > 0:10:17and we used to just sit inside our tents.

0:10:17 > 0:10:19But sometimes we used to go fishing.

0:10:19 > 0:10:22We used to sit for ages on the sides of the riverbank

0:10:22 > 0:10:25waiting for a fish to come.

0:10:25 > 0:10:27Have you caught anything?

0:10:43 > 0:10:48And, guess what, it's stopped raining and the sun has come out!

0:10:48 > 0:10:49Time to find that treasure.

0:10:55 > 0:10:59- Can you see how the sea's coming in and hitting the rocks?- Yeah.

0:11:05 > 0:11:07There's lots of sand here, isn't it?

0:11:07 > 0:11:13Yeah. But there's not lots of sand here, it's just rocks everywhere.

0:11:13 > 0:11:16This is called Rock Way Out.

0:11:16 > 0:11:19- It's slippery. - Almost there.

0:11:19 > 0:11:22- Water! - Yes.
