0:01:35 > 0:01:38We've heard from kids here in the UK, so what can

0:01:38 > 0:01:39we learn from other countries?

0:01:39 > 0:01:40Martin's got this one...

0:01:40 > 0:01:43Here in the UK, 57% of plastic bottles get recycled but in other

0:01:43 > 0:01:45countries like Norway and Denmark, well, they think

0:01:45 > 0:01:46they've got it sussed.

0:01:46 > 0:01:49Because they recycle around 90% of their plastic bottles.

0:01:49 > 0:01:53They have what's called a deposit return scheme.

0:01:53 > 0:01:58Let's find out how it works in Norway.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01This is something we have in Norway which you guys

0:02:01 > 0:02:02do not have in the UK.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04It's like a reverse vending machine.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06Instead of taking something out, you put something in.

0:02:06 > 0:02:08Like a plastic bottle.

0:02:08 > 0:02:11For every small bottle, you pay 10p extra at the till.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13For every big one, you pay 25.

0:02:13 > 0:02:21But you get that money back when you recycle.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25This is the receipt of what we got.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27I know now that these will definitely get recycled.

0:02:27 > 0:02:32I feel proud to live in a country that cares about recycling.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35Not everyone here is convinced it's the right solution, though.

0:02:35 > 0:02:39But because it works so well abroad, Scotland is already hoping

0:02:39 > 0:02:41to do something similar.

0:02:41 > 0:02:49And the idea is being looked at in England and Wales.

0:02:49 > 0:02:52If you want to know more about how plastic affects our planet

0:02:52 > 0:02:54head over to Newsround online where we've got a full guide.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56Our friends in Norway aren't the only eco-heroes

0:02:56 > 0:02:57helping to save the world.

0:02:57 > 0:03:0012 year old Naadia has earned an unusual nickname

0:03:00 > 0:03:01for her battle against litter.

0:03:01 > 0:03:06Watch this!

0:03:06 > 0:03:13Meet Trash Girl.

0:03:13 > 0:03:18She's the schoolgirl superhero fed up with rubbish on the streets.

0:03:18 > 0:03:24And there's only one way to combat all that litter.

0:03:24 > 0:03:28If I don't pick it up then who is?

0:03:28 > 0:03:32Because I've had a lot of people say I'll pick it up but they never do.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34Like, they just walk past it and say, it's

0:03:34 > 0:03:36not my job, it's Nadia's job.

0:03:36 > 0:03:38Yet 12-year-old Nadia decided she's going to clean her streets

0:03:38 > 0:03:42on the way to school.

0:03:42 > 0:03:44But some people started picking on her for clearing

0:03:44 > 0:03:45up all their mess.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47They gave her a nickname which at first seemed quite mean.

0:03:47 > 0:03:49They call me Trash Girl.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52It made me feel upset because I knew it was upsetting me and they just

0:03:52 > 0:03:54kept continuing because they thought it was funny.

0:03:54 > 0:03:55But you know what?

0:03:55 > 0:04:01Nadia took the name and turned it into something pretty cool.

0:04:01 > 0:04:05Her mum took some photos and sent them to a local newspaper,

0:04:05 > 0:04:07and now Nadia likes the idea of being called Trash Girl.

0:04:07 > 0:04:09People are being a lot nicer to me.

0:04:09 > 0:04:12There's a group of girls at my school, and usually

0:04:12 > 0:04:16they would ignore me but now they are actually paying attention

0:04:16 > 0:04:18to me and actually notice me.

0:04:18 > 0:04:20She's taken ownership of that name, and you know what?

0:04:20 > 0:04:21Trash Girl rocks.

0:04:21 > 0:04:22She is absolutely amazing.

0:04:22 > 0:04:24And we could not be more proud of her.

0:04:24 > 0:04:26Trash Girl, we salute you.

0:04:26 > 0:04:28Did you spot the moon last night?

0:04:28 > 0:04:31If you did, you saw something very special, because last night's moon

0:04:31 > 0:04:34was a rare "blue blood super moon".

0:04:34 > 0:04:41It's when three different lunar events come at once -

0:04:41 > 0:04:43and it's not happened for 150 years.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45The moon dazzled star-gazers around the world.

0:05:40 > 0:05:43After some rescue shelters said black cats are unpopular

0:05:43 > 0:05:45because they don't look good in photos, we want

0:05:45 > 0:05:47to prove them wrong.
