0:00:31 > 0:00:32can be a real problem.

0:00:32 > 0:00:32Kids can miss out on important lessons at school and the chance

0:00:35 > 0:00:36to hang out with their friends.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40This is how Jacob goes to school.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43Using an iPad at his home in the US, he is controlling a Segway

0:00:43 > 0:00:49with another iPad on top.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52It lets him see and hear everything going on in class.

0:00:52 > 0:00:56His classmates and teacher can see and hear him too.

0:00:56 > 0:01:04It's nice to see them in the morning.

0:01:04 > 0:01:07The fact that I am waking up first thing in the morning...

0:01:07 > 0:01:14I still haven't gotten used to it yet, but I mean, I'm getting there.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18The reason Jacob needs this amazing system is because unfortunately,

0:01:18 > 0:01:21he cannot go to school in person.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24A couple of years ago Jacob got really sick.

0:01:24 > 0:01:28Doctors haven't been able to figure out what's wrong yet.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31In the meantime, he cannot go to class.

0:01:31 > 0:01:33His classmates and his school got together and figured

0:01:33 > 0:01:40out a way to help.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43Jacob's friend's dad just so happens to have one of these new robots,

0:01:43 > 0:01:46so he let Jacob use it to attend school in robot form.

0:01:46 > 0:01:50Although it's really useful for Jacob to help him

0:01:50 > 0:01:53see his friends and get back to class, he mainly just loves

0:01:53 > 0:01:56the fact that now he can say he has his very own robot.

0:01:56 > 0:02:03It's been an awesome journey so far.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06And these kids in Brazil have been getting the party started!

0:02:06 > 0:02:08They've been taking part in a huge parade just for kids,

0:02:08 > 0:02:11in the famous Rio de Janiero carnival in Brazil.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14Children from loads of samba schools came together to show

0:02:14 > 0:02:20off their dancing skills and ride on giant floats.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23Next up, Ryan and Kirsty live in Northern Ireland.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26There is an election taking place there tomorrow -

0:02:26 > 0:02:29and they wanted to explain why it matters to them.

0:02:29 > 0:02:30Hello, I'm Ryan.

0:02:30 > 0:02:31Hi, I'm Kirsty.

0:02:31 > 0:02:32We're both from Belfast.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34It's the capital city of Northern Ireland.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37BOTH: Come with us.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39There are many great things to see in Belfast,

0:02:39 > 0:02:43like this big blue fish.

0:02:43 > 0:02:45The Titanic was built here, so you can come

0:02:45 > 0:02:49and visit the museum, too.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51We in Northern Ireland are part of the UK.

0:02:51 > 0:02:55But we have our own government, just up there, which is in charge of

0:02:55 > 0:02:59things like schools and hospitals.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02We have a very important election coming up tomorrow.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05It's really important to us, because there was a lot

0:03:05 > 0:03:06of conflict here in the past.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09The conflict was quite a while ago, and we were too young

0:03:09 > 0:03:10to live through it.

0:03:10 > 0:03:13So we've brought our teacher along today to learn a bit about it.

0:03:13 > 0:03:15When I was growing up in Northern Ireland,

0:03:15 > 0:03:17things were a lot different than they are today.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27There were soldiers on the streets, there were bombs going off,

0:03:27 > 0:03:29there were bomb scares.

0:03:29 > 0:03:32If you'd maybe gone into the city centre, you would have

0:03:32 > 0:03:34to have your bag checked.

0:03:34 > 0:03:38So, was it scary when you went near Belfast with your friends or family?

0:03:38 > 0:03:42It was and it wasn't, because you became so used to it.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45But it was scary, I can remember being in Belfast with my granny

0:03:45 > 0:03:49and I was about your age, running down the street because

0:03:49 > 0:03:51there were explosions happening.

0:03:51 > 0:03:54You live in very different way than I did growing up

0:03:54 > 0:04:00in Northern Ireland.

0:04:00 > 0:04:02We don't want to go back to the old days

0:04:02 > 0:04:04in Northern Ireland, where there's lots of

0:04:04 > 0:04:05fighting and conflict.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07So it's important our government keeps things running the same.

0:04:07 > 0:04:11Our message to all the politicians here is to just keep the peace.

0:04:11 > 0:04:14Now tomorrow is a very big day for many of you -

0:04:14 > 0:04:15it's World Book Day!

0:04:15 > 0:04:19We know you guys love it, we know you'll all be dressing up.

0:04:19 > 0:04:21And we want to know what you'll be wearing!

0:04:21 > 0:04:23Head online and let us know.

0:04:23 > 0:04:25Now check this out before we go.

0:04:28 > 0:04:31for skiing backwards.

0:04:31 > 0:04:34He's zooming down the Weisshorn mountain in Switzerland.

0:04:34 > 0:04:38The 24-year-old managed to reach the speed of 80mph breaking

0:04:38 > 0:04:46the last record set in 2012.
