:00:23. > :00:30.Afternoon, news fans. Ore and Joe here live from Newsround HQ,
:00:30. > :00:33.bringing you everything you need to know. That's right. England has a
:00:33. > :00:38.new footy manager, but that's not the only thing happening. Here's
:00:38. > :00:44.what's on the way: Kelly's out, but who's in? We hear
:00:44. > :00:51.your X Factor predictions. And I find out how to film wildlife
:00:51. > :00:54.like the pros. First - It's now official. After 11
:00:54. > :01:00.weeks of waiting, the England football team has a new manager,
:01:00. > :01:04.and his name is Roy Hodgson. The West Brom boss has been locked
:01:04. > :01:09.in talks with FA officials for two days and has finally agreed a four-
:01:09. > :01:11.year deal. It's fair to say Roy's been around the block a bit - he's
:01:11. > :01:21.managed 18 teams, including three national sides, during a managerial
:01:21. > :01:22.
:01:22. > :01:25.career spanning 36 years, but this is his biggest job yet. I'm looking
:01:25. > :01:29.forward enormously to the task ahead. Everyone knows it is notice
:01:29. > :01:32.an easy one. I'm also hoping that everybody, fans, supporters,
:01:32. > :01:37.everybody within the country will get behind the team, because it's
:01:37. > :01:40.the team that counts. It's the team which will win us matches. I will
:01:40. > :01:43.do my very best to make sure the team is as well prepared as
:01:44. > :01:48.possible for the tasks that lie ahead. I'm grateful for the chance
:01:48. > :01:50.to be the manager of England and I'm looking forward to it.
:01:50. > :01:53.So, now his appointment has been confirmed, Hodgson can start
:01:53. > :01:56.focusing on what needs to be done before England's European
:01:56. > :02:05.Championship campaign starts on 11th June. It looks like he's got a
:02:05. > :02:09.lot on his plate. The last time England played in a major
:02:09. > :02:13.tournament was the big one, the World Cup. And things didn't go
:02:13. > :02:16.well. One of the main reasons because the team was said to be
:02:16. > :02:21.divided. So Hodgson's first job will be to bring them together and
:02:21. > :02:27.make them play as a team. It's currently the man with it's
:02:27. > :02:32.coolest hair in football which wears the armband, but Hodgson want
:02:32. > :02:36.his own man? Could it be Gerrard? Or what about Danii Murphy?
:02:36. > :02:44.Stranger things have happened. England's one world class striker,
:02:44. > :02:48.Rooney, is banned for the first two games. Will we see the return of
:02:48. > :02:54.the robot-dancing Peter Crouch, or Danii Welbeck. Hodgson's biggest
:02:54. > :02:58.job will be convincing some fans he's the right man for the job.
:02:58. > :03:00.Harry Redknapp was a popular choice and it could be difficult to change
:03:00. > :03:03.people's minds. Good luck to you.
:03:03. > :03:07.From one powerful position to another. Next, we're talking about
:03:07. > :03:09.the man who owns a huge chunk of what we read or watch on telly
:03:10. > :03:12.every day. The Sun newspaper, Sky One, Sky Sports, the company that
:03:13. > :03:16.makes The Simpsons and movies like Avatar - Rupert Murdoch is involved
:03:16. > :03:19.in all of them. One of his papers, The News of the World, closed down
:03:19. > :03:22.last year over claims it was listening into people's private
:03:22. > :03:29.phone calls. Now a group of MPs has strongly criticised him, saying
:03:29. > :03:33.he's not a fit boss, and that he totally ignored all the problems.
:03:33. > :03:38.Up until last summer, the News of the World was one of the most
:03:38. > :03:42.popular newspapers in the UK. Then everything changed. Reporters
:03:42. > :03:48.working on the paper were accused of hacking into people's personal
:03:48. > :03:51.voicemails to try to get news stories. At first it looked like
:03:51. > :03:57.they were targeting celebrities and politicians. But the mood changed
:03:57. > :04:02.when it was claimed they had deleted messages on the phone of a
:04:02. > :04:06.missing schoolgirl called Milly Dowler. It had given her parents
:04:06. > :04:09.false hope she was still alive. Reporters say they didn't delete
:04:09. > :04:12.the messages but the News of the World was shut down and Rupert
:04:13. > :04:17.Murdoch was ordered by MPs to explain what had been going on.
:04:17. > :04:21.People were very angry that journalists could behave like this,
:04:21. > :04:26.and protested against Murdoch. One protester made it into the room and
:04:26. > :04:31.tried to hit him with a foam pie. Rupert Murdoch has always said he
:04:31. > :04:37.knew nothing about his staff hacking at his newspapers. Today,
:04:37. > :04:40.the MPs met to give their final verdict. Though they disagree
:04:40. > :04:44.amongst themselves, their report says Rupert Murdoch is not fit to
:04:44. > :04:48.run a major international company, and that they are shocked that he
:04:48. > :04:53.and four of his senior staff say they had no idea that hacking was
:04:53. > :04:57.going on. This could do a lot to damage
:04:57. > :05:00.Murdoch's reputation and power, and with another big investigation
:05:00. > :05:03.still to report, the story is far from over.
:05:03. > :05:07.Moving on, and there's one big question in the showbiz world today
:05:07. > :05:10.- who's going to replace this lady on the X Factor? Yes, the lovely
:05:10. > :05:14.Kelly Rowland has announced she won't be back as a judge in the
:05:14. > :05:17.next series, mostly because she's just too busy. It's rumoured that
:05:17. > :05:20.Dannii Minogue could be back to take her place, but nothing's been
:05:20. > :05:23.decided yet. All day on the website you've been telling us who you'd
:05:24. > :05:26.you've been telling us who you'd like to see in Kelly's place.
:05:27. > :05:31.Emmanuel from London says, "I think Jessie J should take her place
:05:31. > :05:34.because she is funny and will make the show more interesting."
:05:34. > :05:38.Heather says, "I think Cher Lloyd or Harry Styles should replace her
:05:38. > :05:41.as they both did great during x factor 2010 and they know their
:05:41. > :05:44.stuff." And Emily in Leeds says, "I think
:05:44. > :05:53.someone like Beyonce, Miley Cyrus or Selena Gomez. I would definitely
:05:53. > :05:56.watch the show if one of them were Keep them coming in, guys.
:05:56. > :05:59.Next - it's 1st May, so fingers crossed the weather will change
:05:59. > :06:01.along with the month. We had the wettest April since records began,
:06:01. > :06:04.with severe flooding across parts of England. In Northamptonshire,
:06:04. > :06:12.around 1,000 people had to leave their homes because of rising
:06:12. > :06:14.floodwater. But guess what. More rain is on the way! Hooray!
:06:14. > :06:17.Brilliant! That's what I wanted to hear.
:06:17. > :06:20.Next up - whether it's Deadly 60 or Planet Earth, making nature films
:06:20. > :06:23.takes a lot more than presenters like Steve Backshall. The latest
:06:23. > :06:27.wildlife documentary, African Cats, took almost three years to film,
:06:27. > :06:30.with camera people living alongside lions and cheetahs. I went to meet
:06:30. > :06:40.one of the film makers to ask her how you can make great wildlife
:06:40. > :06:45.
:06:45. > :06:53.African cats follows the lives of lions and cheetahs trying to
:06:53. > :06:58.survive in Kenya. It took years to film and award-winning camera woman
:06:58. > :07:04.Sophie Darlington was one of the main fame makers: it took a huge
:07:04. > :07:08.team of us over two-and-a-half years out in the Masai Mara in
:07:08. > :07:12.Kenya. Sometimes the landscape would come and you would lose them.
:07:12. > :07:16.We couldn't tell them where to go and they didn't get the scene right
:07:16. > :07:20.you couldn't tell them to do it again. So if you want to take
:07:20. > :07:25.really good shots and you don't have the latest gear, how can you
:07:25. > :07:31.do it? As long as you have a story to tell, you can tell it on a phone.
:07:31. > :07:38.OK, so we haven't got a lion but we've got a tennis ball-loving dog.
:07:38. > :07:42.Lety! Hello. What would be your top tips for filming her? You want to
:07:42. > :07:47.be down at the animal's eyelevel, and you want the animal to fill the
:07:47. > :07:52.frame. That looked great! Another important thing is know your animal.
:07:52. > :07:58.We know Lety loves tennis balls, so if I give her a tennis ball, you
:07:58. > :08:06.just film it. Something else to consider is sound. When you are
:08:06. > :08:10.filming you've got some really good sound, try and get it. GROWLING
:08:10. > :08:14.That's fantastic, it really adds to the story. Get out there and film
:08:14. > :08:20.everything and anything. You can tell a story with anything. As long
:08:20. > :08:26.as it interests you it will interest everyone else. That lady
:08:26. > :08:30.is living the dream. Finally to the gaggle of geese that
:08:31. > :08:35.Finally to the gaggle of geese that have made us giggle. A police
