0:00:02 > 0:00:03Good afternoon.

0:00:03 > 0:00:05It's Monday and you're live with me.

0:00:05 > 0:00:08Keep watching for some of this:

0:00:08 > 0:00:10The tower blocks in Blackpool going down.

0:00:10 > 0:00:15And the climbers in Brazil staying up for a new world record.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25First, the author behind the Tom Gates series, Liz Pichon,

0:00:26 > 0:00:31has created an artwork called a tapestry, to mark 950 years

0:00:31 > 0:00:34since the Battle of Hastings - one of the most important events

0:00:34 > 0:00:36in English history.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39Kids have helped her choose the big historic moments on the canvas.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42It's meant to be a modern-day version of the famous

0:00:42 > 0:00:46Bayeux Tapestry, which tells the story of William the Conqueror

0:00:46 > 0:00:49and the Norman invasion of England.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52The children came up with all the ideas.

0:00:52 > 0:00:54They are the ones that picked all the moments in history,

0:00:54 > 0:00:58and so it was my job to try and turn it into kind of

0:00:58 > 0:00:59like a sort of Bayeux Tapestry.

0:00:59 > 0:01:01But obviously we were going to have a bit more

0:01:01 > 0:01:03of a modern twist to it.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05They particularly asked me because they wanted me

0:01:05 > 0:01:08to do it in a style a bit like the Tom Gates books.

0:01:08 > 0:01:10I have actually hidden in a few characters from Tom Gates.

0:01:10 > 0:01:13I also like particularly this scene, the V Day scene, which marks

0:01:13 > 0:01:15the end of the Second World War.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18I thought it would be quite fun because my dad was an RAF pilot.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21I've stuck him in - that's him with his little moustache.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24It's just four days to go until the Rio Olympic Games kick off

0:01:24 > 0:01:27in Brazil, but four years ago it was all about

0:01:27 > 0:01:28the London 2012 Olympics.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31Team GB won a massive 65 medals and there were loads of other

0:01:31 > 0:01:32memorable moments too.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38It's nearly four years now since the Olympics came to London

0:01:38 > 0:01:42and what a Games it was.

0:01:42 > 0:01:47The big star heading into the Games was Mr Usain Bolt.

0:01:47 > 0:01:50The pressure was on him to deliver on the track, and he certainly

0:01:50 > 0:01:52rose to the challenge.

0:01:52 > 0:01:53He's pulling away!

0:01:53 > 0:01:55He's going to win the gold!

0:01:55 > 0:01:579.64.

0:01:57 > 0:02:01Team GB cyclists were favourites going into the Games and they

0:02:01 > 0:02:03certainly didn't disappoint.

0:02:15 > 0:02:19The swimming pool also saw records broken -

0:02:19 > 0:02:23American Michael Phelps became the most successful Olympian

0:02:23 > 0:02:25of all time in London.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27He finishes right on top.

0:03:09 > 0:03:14just weeks after losing to him at Wimbledon.

0:03:14 > 0:03:18London 2012 was a ground-breaking Games for women.
