:00:17. > :00:20.Good afternoon, one and all, Joe and Nel here with a very special
:00:20. > :00:26.show on the way. Lots to get through today, including some of
:00:26. > :00:30.this. It's Space Week, and we hear from a real-life moon-walker about
:00:30. > :00:35.his trip to the lunar surface. And find out how Gangnam Style is
:00:35. > :00:37.spreading everywhere, even to the Newsround office.
:00:37. > :00:40.But first, it's being called possibly the greatest sporting
:00:40. > :00:43.comeback of all time. Tonight fans around the world are still catching
:00:43. > :00:48.their breath after an extraordinary win by Europe's top golfers in the
:00:48. > :00:52.Ryder Cup. It was a result that no- one expected and meant all the more
:00:52. > :00:57.to the team as they dedicated it to one of the greatest ever players to
:00:57. > :01:00.play in the competition, Seve Ballesteros, who died last year.
:01:00. > :01:04.As the day began at the Medinah Country Club, for Europe things
:01:04. > :01:11.looked pretty bleak. They faced a team in form, 40,000 screaming home
:01:11. > :01:15.fans and a record score to overcome. USA had one hand on the trophy. It
:01:15. > :01:17.almost started with disaster. The best golfer in the world and
:01:17. > :01:23.Europe's superstar, Rory McIlroy, nearly missed his round because he
:01:23. > :01:28.got the time confused. If a miracle was to happen, it needed a good, no,
:01:28. > :01:33.a brilliant start. And boy, did it get it! 12 points were on offer,
:01:33. > :01:37.America only needed four, but for a while they did not get a sniff. The
:01:37. > :01:40.first five of the day went to the boys from Europe. Suddenly, the
:01:40. > :01:47.crowd were quiet, the USA looked worried, Europe were on fire, and
:01:47. > :01:50.suddenly maybe the impossible was But the USA would not give in like
:01:51. > :01:55.that, and once again Europe were behind. But they fought back, the
:01:55. > :01:58.scores were tied. Then the USA lead again, then they tied. And then,
:01:58. > :02:08.with one steady historical wave of his putter, Martin Kaymer did what
:02:08. > :02:13.
:02:13. > :02:18.We got off to a great start, and miracles do happen. We have played
:02:18. > :02:20.at heart and passion like I have never seen before, it is incredible.
:02:20. > :02:27.And for the captain, whose great friend Seve Ballesteros died last
:02:27. > :02:32.year, the emotion was too much. It means everything, for them, and
:02:32. > :02:35.for us. It was the perfect way to remember one of the greatest
:02:35. > :02:40.European golfers of all time, with an incredible day of golf and a
:02:40. > :02:44.very, very special trophy. That was pretty impressive, but now
:02:44. > :02:47.it's time for something truly out of this world. This week sees the
:02:47. > :02:50.start of World Space Week, which gives young people the chance to
:02:50. > :02:53.celebrate the importance of space and science. So all this week I'm
:02:53. > :03:03.on a mission to answer the big questions and, to blast it off, I
:03:03. > :03:08.thought we'd take a trip to the It is a quarter of a million miles
:03:08. > :03:13.away but it controls our calendar, our moods and of course our tides,
:03:13. > :03:18.affected by the moon. But it is 40 years since we last went back, and
:03:18. > :03:22.there are many mysteries to solve. It was in 1969 when the world
:03:22. > :03:26.watched American Neil Armstrong, who died in August, become the
:03:26. > :03:33.first man to walk on the moon. is one small step for man, one
:03:33. > :03:36.giant leap for mankind. Over the next three years, another 11
:03:37. > :03:41.astronauts went on to explore the service. One of them was Alan Bean,
:03:41. > :03:46.who has been painting about his experiences ever since. It really
:03:47. > :03:50.changed my life. I know things that other people do not know, because
:03:50. > :03:57.they have not had a chance to experience these things. Looking
:03:57. > :04:01.back, it was amazing how beautiful the earth looks from the pair, and
:04:01. > :04:07.it is the only thing in the sky that is beautiful. Were you scared
:04:07. > :04:12.about getting home? You can look at it and say it is a long way off,
:04:12. > :04:15.but the whole mission was to get us home. America completed the mission
:04:15. > :04:19.to prove to the world that they were the smartest and richest
:04:19. > :04:23.country. But we did learn a lot from the landings. Samples showed
:04:23. > :04:27.us what the moon is made of and scientists have since discovered
:04:27. > :04:33.water ice at its pulse. We also know that the moon is moving away
:04:33. > :04:37.from us. The Apollo astronauts used the special mirrors, a bed like
:04:37. > :04:41.this on the back of cars and bikes, and they have left them on the Moon,
:04:41. > :04:45.a bit smaller than that, then we take a laser, fire it under the
:04:45. > :04:49.reflect and measure the time it takes for the reflection to get
:04:49. > :04:53.back, and that tells us how far away it is. There are loads of
:04:53. > :04:57.reasons why it would be useful to go back. If we are ever going to
:04:57. > :05:01.explore fees, it is the first stepping point. There is probably
:05:01. > :05:08.stuff on the MONUC we could use. The only country with plans to send
:05:08. > :05:11.men to the moon is China, and they want to do it by 2025, but with the
:05:12. > :05:17.International Space Station and Rovers on Mars, space exploration
:05:17. > :05:20.definitely has not stalled. And you can head over to the
:05:20. > :05:24.Newsround website to see more of our exclusive interview with Alan
:05:24. > :05:27.Bean and to tell us your thoughts on space exploration.
:05:27. > :05:29.The world's fish are shrinking, according to a new study.
:05:29. > :05:33.Scientists says climate change is making sea water warmer and that's
:05:33. > :05:38.restricting how big fish can grow. They are warning they could be a
:05:38. > :05:43.quarter of the size in 40 years' time.
:05:43. > :05:45.In sport, Arsenal's ladies are Premier League champions. Kelly
:05:45. > :05:55.Smith's goal helped them beat Doncaster to claim their 11th title
:05:55. > :05:56.
:05:56. > :06:05.in 12 seasons. That makes them one of the most successful teams in the
:06:05. > :06:08.English game. Of course, you know what the really big news is today,
:06:08. > :06:10.don't you? Well it's the horse- riding dance craze that's got the
:06:10. > :06:14.world going mad. I'm talking about Gangnam Style. It's just reached
:06:14. > :06:17.number one in the UK charts, and the man behind it, Psy, is the
:06:17. > :06:25.first Korean ever to hit the top spot in this country. But what's
:06:25. > :06:30.made it such a hit? I've been finding out. Your number one for
:06:30. > :06:35.now, R two, this is Psy with Gangnam Style. It is a South Korean
:06:35. > :06:39.song taking the world by storm, and there's quite a story behind it.
:06:39. > :06:45.is very visual, it makes no sense whatsoever when you listen to it.
:06:45. > :06:52.It makes crazy sense when you watch it, but Gangnam is the south side
:06:52. > :06:58.of the city, which is more fashionable, the money side, and
:06:59. > :07:06.his video is very tongue-in-cheek, because he is saying, I am your man,
:07:06. > :07:11.Gangnam style. A key reason for the start and his incredible success on
:07:11. > :07:15.the internet. Every other text of my radio show is for this song, it
:07:15. > :07:20.is massive, enormous, and people are loving it. Suddenly you have
:07:20. > :07:25.got an absolutely massive hit out of nowhere, and the big record
:07:25. > :07:30.companies that are behind the One that, they hate this kind of thing,
:07:30. > :07:34.because they spend millions on getting their hands out on tour and
:07:34. > :07:38.on the television and doing promotion and getting them all over
:07:38. > :07:42.the place, and then suddenly they are overtaken by a diet that has
:07:42. > :07:49.put his videos and YouTube. This is not the first online video to go
:07:49. > :07:53.viral. But it is arguably the first time it has had such a big effect
:07:53. > :07:56.on the pop charts. Would you say there has been a big shift in the
:07:56. > :08:00.way that people listen, buy or choose what songs they want to
:08:00. > :08:06.listen to? More often, we are definitely going to see things like
:08:06. > :08:10.Gangnam Style, up and charged their way into the charts, the all-over
:08:10. > :08:14.the television and radio, really affecting our lives. Whether it is
:08:14. > :08:19.changing the way things work are not, everyone wants to be
:08:19. > :08:22.associated with it. Katie's very -- Katy Perry has been sharing it
:08:22. > :08:28.online, and Brittany Spears has been learning the moves from the
:08:28. > :08:38.man himself. And it is not just them getting caught up in Gangnam
:08:38. > :08:40.
:08:40. > :08:43.He carried on for hours! Well, it doesn't matter how famous
:08:43. > :08:46.Psy gets, the stars still get nervous. If you're having your tea,
:08:46. > :08:51.look away now, because Justin Bieber suffered a bit of a fever on
