:00:38. > :00:40.The attacks that took place in Paris, on Friday November 13th,
:00:41. > :00:46.The people that claimed responsibility for these acts, call
:00:47. > :00:49.themselves Islamic State, or IS. But who are they?
:00:50. > :00:51.And what can, and should, the world do to stop them?
:00:52. > :00:55.That's the question now being asked here in the UK.
:00:56. > :00:59.IS are a group based in the Middle East, mainly in Iraq and Syria,
:01:00. > :01:04.They use brutal violence against anyone who doesn't agree
:01:05. > :01:10.They claim to follow the religion of Islam, but many people say their
:01:11. > :01:13.beliefs of hatred and violence have little to do with Islam and what
:01:14. > :01:20.Since early 2014, IS has grown quickly - using
:01:21. > :01:27.the internet and social media to recruit followers and spread fear.
:01:28. > :01:30.They have been able to take over large parts of Syria
:01:31. > :01:33.and neighbouring Iraq, declaring this their own state -
:01:34. > :01:38.and punishing anyone who doesn't follow their strict rules.
:01:39. > :01:42.Lots of different groups are fighting in Syria, and nations
:01:43. > :01:47.around the world can't agree on who they want to control the country.
:01:48. > :01:50.What does unite most of the world is the desire to stop IS because
:01:51. > :01:55.The UK has bombed Islamic State-controlled areas in
:01:56. > :02:01.Iraq but two years ago politicians voted against bombing in Syria.
:02:02. > :02:05.However, since IS have started attacking places around the world -
:02:06. > :02:11.like Paris - there is more pressure on the UK to stop them.
:02:12. > :02:19.Prime Minister David Cameron wants MPs to vote to decide
:02:20. > :02:21.whether or not the UK should start to bomb IS in Syria.
:02:22. > :02:23...is to address the threat we face
:02:24. > :02:28.Both France and the USA have already launched airstrikes in the country,
:02:29. > :02:30.but some feel that the bombs also affect too many
:02:31. > :02:35.innocent people living there, and that the UK shouldn't be involved.

:02:46. > :02:50.A group of schools in Hertfordshire in southern England wrote
:02:51. > :02:53.a catchy song to try and get adults to be more careful
:02:54. > :02:58.They roped in a whole team of professionals who gave up
:02:59. > :03:04.their time for free to produce a video with an important message.
:03:05. > :03:07.This road might seem pretty calm right now but come 3pm,
:03:08. > :03:14.So children and parents from six schools in the local area
:03:15. > :03:17.decided to do something about it and with the help of their voices,
:03:18. > :03:30.Children and parents came together to produce the music video with
:03:31. > :03:36.Professional directors and camera operators turned this
:03:37. > :03:50.And the inspiration behind the track?
:03:51. > :03:53.It is all those hot-headed parents who drop off their kids
:03:54. > :03:59.We are going to be late, we are going to be late and the
:04:00. > :04:02.parents want to get their kids on time to school and then they just go
:04:03. > :04:18.A road monster is like a person who drives over the speed limit or
:04:19. > :04:22.All of those kids who really want to walk to school, cycle and scoot to
:04:23. > :04:25.school, having all this traffic around it just makes it much less
:04:26. > :04:29.likely they will do that because it is dangerous and it worries them.
:04:30. > :04:36.And making the video was not as easy as it sounds.
:04:37. > :04:40.Weird because we were filming in a toilet.
:04:41. > :04:43.Sometimes you would be really into the song and they would say,
:04:44. > :04:55.# So don't let your road monster, don't let your road monster,
:04:56. > :05:00.the angry careless silly road monster out. #

:05:04. > :05:06.of you that means you'll be opening day one of your advent calendar.
