:00:00. > :00:08.Good afternoon, Leah here with your last Newsround of the day. Coming up
:00:09. > :00:11.over the next six minutes. We meet the incredible adventurer
:00:12. > :00:16.who's taken on some of the world's toughest challenges.
:00:17. > :00:20.The cutest baby elephant you'll see all day.
:00:21. > :00:27.And who'll win the Super Bowl? Better ask a panda. This is
:00:28. > :00:31.Newsround. First - how to deal with bad
:00:32. > :00:34.behaviour in the classroom. The Government's man in charge of
:00:35. > :00:36.schools in England says teachers should get tougher, making pupils
:00:37. > :00:39.who misbehave do more old-fashioned punishments, like writing lines,
:00:40. > :00:46.cleaning classrooms and weeding the playground. But critics disagree
:00:47. > :00:49.with Michael Gove's plans - they think teachers should be able to
:00:50. > :00:53.decide for themselves how to deal with pupils. You've been on the
:00:54. > :00:58.Newsround website telling us what you think of these plans. Hayat in
:00:59. > :01:03.Cardiff says, "I think it's ok to have a punishment, but writing lines
:01:04. > :01:07.is a little bit too far." But George in Bedfordshire says, "writing lines
:01:08. > :01:11.is fine. But I think all the other ideas are really bad". And Jade in
:01:12. > :01:17.London says "doing chores is a bit like going back to the olden days".
:01:18. > :01:20.Those flood warnings from all the heavy rain and tides are still in
:01:21. > :01:24.place this afternoon. Yet more homes have flooded across the Midlands and
:01:25. > :01:27.the South West and South East of England. And the weather's created a
:01:28. > :01:30.rare tidal surge called the Severn Bore in the Severn Estuary in
:01:31. > :01:34.Gloucestershire. Dare-devil surfers and kayakers turned up to ride the
:01:35. > :01:39.waves, despite being warned of the dangers. And six fishermen had to be
:01:40. > :01:44.rescued after their boat was damaged in rough seas off the north Cornwall
:01:45. > :01:49.coast. Next - to a man who proves you
:01:50. > :01:52.really can do anything you set your mind to. James Ketchell was in a
:01:53. > :01:56.serious motorbike crash seven years ago. Doctors say he might have found
:01:57. > :01:59.it hard to walk properly again. But he's proved them wrong. He's taken
:02:00. > :02:02.part in one of the world's toughest competitions. Singlehandedly rowing
:02:03. > :02:07.across the Atlantic, climbing Mount Everest. And if that's not enough,
:02:08. > :02:12.he's just finished cycling thousands of miles around the world! Earlier I
:02:13. > :02:18.caught up with James and he told me about his first challenge - that big
:02:19. > :02:22.row. I rowed from a little island which is in the Canary Islands. I
:02:23. > :02:29.rowed to Antigua. It was the same route as Christopher Columbus used.
:02:30. > :02:34.It was a challenge. I ran out of food miles from Antigua. That proved
:02:35. > :02:39.difficult. I found what it was like to be starving. It was good
:02:40. > :02:44.character building. I got hit by waves the size of buildings. Things
:02:45. > :02:54.broke on the boat. That is what it is all about. Your next challenge
:02:55. > :02:58.was Everest? It was on May the 16th. I stood for 15 minutes on there. It
:02:59. > :03:05.was a surreal experience. My brain was not working. There was so little
:03:06. > :03:11.oxygen. There is so little altitude. It was difficult to breathe. I
:03:12. > :03:19.realised I was only half way. I had to get back down. Then you took to
:03:20. > :03:23.the roads in a cycling challenge, wearing all your kit? I only
:03:24. > :03:28.finished 24 hours ago. I travelled through 20 different countries. I
:03:29. > :03:32.spoke to young people in Scout groups and schools in almost every
:03:33. > :03:36.country. I reached out to 10,000 young people. This was after a major
:03:37. > :03:46.motorbike accident, where doctors said you may not walk? I remember it
:03:47. > :03:55.clearly. It was quite a big accident. I came off my bike at 100
:03:56. > :03:58.mph. I was in hospital for a while. It proves that if you are
:03:59. > :04:05.determined, you can reach your dreams? There is nothing you can't
:04:06. > :04:09.do, but you have to want to do it. My advise is to just do, not think.
:04:10. > :04:16.Once you take that first step, the rest is easy. Thank you very much.
:04:17. > :04:18.Head to the Newsround website to see some amazing photos from James'
:04:19. > :04:22.adventures. Think you're a Newsround super-fan? Then try our quiz all
:04:23. > :04:26.about the week's top stories. And check out the weirdest videos of the
:04:27. > :04:29.week too. Next - to what's often called the
:04:30. > :04:32.greatest show on earth! Later tonight, around a billion people
:04:33. > :04:35.round the world will tune in to watch The Super Bowl, the biggest
:04:36. > :04:39.game in American football. Tonight's big match will pit the Denver
:04:40. > :04:42.Broncos against the Seattle Seahawks but the Super Bowl is almost as much
:04:43. > :04:47.about the half time entertainment as the football. This year, Bruno Mars
:04:48. > :04:51.is perfoming, last year it was Beyonce. And watching the game
:04:52. > :04:54.certainly makes you hungry. It's thought over one billion chicken
:04:55. > :04:59.wings will be eaten in that time, as well as 48 million pizzas!
:05:00. > :05:06.So who's going to win? Tricky question. Better ask a panda! This
:05:07. > :05:09.is Luh Luh the panda at Memphis Zoo in America. He was given the choice
:05:10. > :05:13.between the two teams. Thought about it for a minute or two. And went for
:05:14. > :05:16.the Denver Broncos. He tore down the Broncos orange banner and rolled
:05:17. > :05:19.around in it, which seems pretty definite!. Make sure you're watching
:05:20. > :05:22.Newsround tomorrow morning, to see if he got it right!
:05:23. > :05:26.So from superbowl predicting Pandas - to an elephant with a new name.
:05:27. > :05:29.Yep seven weeks after being born keepers at Melbourne Zoo decided
:05:30. > :05:35.this asian baby elephant suited the name Man Jai meaning confident in
:05:36. > :05:38.Thai. Zoo keepers agreed it was a perfect fit because he's already
:05:39. > :05:42.showing signs he'll be a great leader.
:05:43. > :05:46.That's all I've got time for this Sunday afternoon. But Newsround is
:05:47. > :05:50.back bright and early in the morning - Ricky will be right here to bring
:05:51. > :05:55.you up to date with all the top stories from around the world. Have
:05:56. > :06:01.a great afternoon whatever you're doing. I'll see you soon.
