:00:28. > :00:29.Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl was released at the weekend in exchange

:00:30. > :00:32.for five senior Taliban members who were being held as prisoners

:00:33. > :00:39.Bowe now has to begin his life as a free man but how do you deal

:00:40. > :00:54.Sergeant Rick has missed birthdays, holidays and the simple moments with

:00:55. > :01:00.family and friends. But while he was gone, he was never forgotten. Yellow

:01:10. > :01:12.their thoughts every day. This weekend they have been replaced by

:01:13. > :01:16.balloons to celebrate his release. He had been working as a soldier in

:01:17. > :01:21.the US Army during the Afghanistan war when he was captured on June the

:01:22. > :01:26.30th, 2009. He was held hostage for five years. Being placed in a

:01:27. > :01:30.stressful situation, over such a long time, can have a huge effect.

:01:31. > :01:38.One man who understands what he's going through is Terry Waite. He was

:01:39. > :01:43.held hostage for five years by militants in Lebanon 25 years ago.

:01:44. > :01:48.It will be a strange experience to come back into a world that has

:01:49. > :01:51.changed, and being reunited eventually with his family who will

:01:52. > :01:57.also have changed. He's going to need a time when he can come to

:01:58. > :02:01.terms with that. Bowe Bergdahl cannot go straight home with his

:02:02. > :02:04.family just yet. After such a traumatic experience, he needs

:02:05. > :02:08.medical help to deal with what has happened. Right now, he's staying at

:02:09. > :02:14.a military hospital. It is very wise to be able to talk to a trained

:02:15. > :02:19.listener when you come out to be able to manage it rather than the

:02:20. > :02:25.experience managing you. That is the secret. Get on it right away. And

:02:26. > :02:29.then you will be fine. The family will never forget this weekend, but

:02:30. > :02:42.as the US soldier walks away from the -- a life held captive, a tough

:02:43. > :02:50.journey of recovery lies ahead. Huge sandstorm has caused havoc in

:02:51. > :02:52.around's capital city. The fire department at helping to clean up

:02:53. > :02:56.now the storm has passed. People in Syria are voting

:03:25. > :03:30.Damascus, and wherever you look at the moment, there are images of

:03:31. > :03:33.President Bashar al-Assad. There are thousands, literally, and that is

:03:34. > :03:38.because of the election. There are a couple of ways of looking at this

:03:39. > :03:42.election. There is the view you get from the opposition, and from

:03:43. > :03:49.Western countries and critics of the resume. And that is that it is a

:03:50. > :03:53.sham, but it is a bad joke. The question asked is, how can you hope

:03:54. > :04:00.to have a fear election in a country that is having a Civil War? That is

:04:01. > :04:04.a defence against the arguments you hear in Damascus. And it is that

:04:05. > :04:09.this election is a beginning, the first time since the 50s were there

:04:10. > :04:14.have been three faces on the ballot paper, not just one. The resume here
