:02:07. > :02:15.And although you guys can't vote in the General Election on June 8th,

:02:16. > :02:18.the choices made will have a big impact on your lives.

:02:19. > :02:21.There are loads of different political parties competing

:02:22. > :02:24.with each other, so giving you the low down on the main ones

:02:25. > :02:26.and here's a quick look at the UK Independence Party.

:02:27. > :02:30.The United Kingdom Independence Party - or Ukip -

:02:31. > :02:37.Past leaders include Nigel Farage, who campaigned successfully last

:02:38. > :02:39.year for the UK to leave the club of countries called

:02:40. > :02:44.That had always been the party's number one aim.

:02:45. > :02:46.At the last general election in 2015, Ukip won almost 3.9 million

:02:47. > :02:49.votes but only got one MP, Douglas Carswell.

:02:50. > :02:52.But then he quit the party so they were back down to zero MPs.

:02:53. > :03:03.He played youth football for Tranmere Rovers and spent

:03:04. > :03:09.Ukip believe in strong controls on immigration,

:03:10. > :03:12.the number of people from outside the UK who come to live here.

:03:13. > :03:15.And they want a ban on face coverings in public places.

:03:16. > :03:18.The UK Independence Party say that even though the UK is now

:03:19. > :03:21.leaving the European Union, they are needed now more than ever

:03:22. > :03:27.And you can find out about the UK's other main political parties

:03:28. > :03:34.So there are loads of parties hoping to get a vote but how

:03:41. > :03:46.So, on 8th June on election day your school might have one

:03:47. > :03:49.of these signs up saying polling station and what that means is that

:03:50. > :03:54.They're also in churches and community centres like this one.

:03:55. > :04:07.First off, adults get their name ticked off a list.

:04:08. > :04:15.It's called a ballot paper and it lists all the names

:04:16. > :04:20.They're all from different political parties and all want to be

:04:21. > :04:26.But first we have got to head to a super-secret booth so that no

:04:27. > :04:33.I grab the pencil, scroll down the list and put an X

:04:34. > :04:45.No emojis, though, they might not be counted.

:04:46. > :04:49.Then you fold your paper, you put it in the ballot box and...

:04:50. > :04:52.At 10.00pm all across the UK the doors at polling

:04:53. > :04:56.The boxes will be whisked off, all the votes will be

:04:57. > :05:01.counted and the person with the most votes wins.

:05:02. > :05:04.And we are just a few hours away from another big competition,

:05:05. > :05:13.Tonight ten acts will battle it out live on TV, including a wildcard act
