:01:09. > :01:10.from Jesse J to name a few. The awards are about celebrating music,
:01:11. > :01:17.entertainment and sport and the Internet. It will also feature three
:01:18. > :01:20.inspiring teenagers who we will hope to hear from later. You can watch
:01:21. > :01:27.highlights on this channel at 5:30pm.
:01:28. > :01:29.Thanks, Ricky. Next to some pretty epic autumn weather that hit Wales
:01:30. > :01:33.overnight. Powerful winds meant engineers had to work through the
:01:34. > :01:36.night, to get electricity back to around 10,000 homes and businesses
:01:37. > :01:39.there. These amazing pictures sent into the BBC show huge waves
:01:40. > :01:44.battering the Welsh coast in Aberystwyth. Gales of up to 80 miles
:01:45. > :01:48.per hour brought down trees and power lines across south and west
:01:49. > :01:50.areas. Most places have their power back on now.
:01:51. > :01:53.Astronomers and star gazers in America, Europe and parts of Africa,
:01:54. > :01:58.are witnessing a rare type of eclipse of the sun. It's known as a
:01:59. > :02:02.hybrid solar eclipse, which means that some parts of the world see a
:02:03. > :02:06.total eclipse, while others see a partial one like this. These amazing
:02:07. > :02:12.pictures from Nigeria in Africa show the partial eclipse in all its
:02:13. > :02:16.glory. Sadly you won't be able to see the Sun covered up here in the
:02:17. > :02:19.UK. Susan Murabana is an astronomer, she hopes that the eclipse will help
:02:20. > :02:27.people understand the science behind it.
:02:28. > :02:31.Most people think that the moon is eating the sun, for example, and
:02:32. > :02:35.that is why there is darkness during the day. This is some of the
:02:36. > :02:44.traditional stories we have had in the communities here. It is cool as
:02:45. > :02:47.an astronomer to see these areas. Sport next and while Everton and
:02:48. > :02:51.Tottenham are fighting it out right now for second place, possibly the
:02:52. > :02:54.biggest footy match of the afternoon is the Wales derby! For the first
:02:55. > :02:58.time ever in the Premier League Cardiff City and Swansea will go
:02:59. > :03:03.head to head, at four o'clock. Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is not
:03:04. > :03:08.pretending it's any old game. There is a lot of importance
:03:09. > :03:11.attached to the game. The first time we have played each other in the top
:03:12. > :03:17.level in the Barclays Premier League, and that being the case it
:03:18. > :03:22.is very special for everyone in South Wales in terms of both
:03:23. > :03:25.ourselves and Swansea. Here's an early contender for
:03:26. > :03:28.weirdest goal of the season. Just 13 seconds into their game against
:03:29. > :03:31.Southampton, Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic makes a clearance... And
:03:32. > :03:34.scores! It's thought the wind caught the ball and looped it over the
:03:35. > :03:37.Southampton keeper's head. It wasn't quite quick enough to beat Ledley
:03:38. > :03:41.King's Premier League record of ten seconds, though.
:03:42. > :03:45.Britain's best ever sailor, Sir Ben Ainslie has had a very busy year,
:03:46. > :03:48.helping the US team produce one of sport's greatest ever comebacks to
:03:49. > :03:59.win the America's Cup. Nel caught up with him recently to find out what's
:04:00. > :04:03.next for the sailing superstar. What was it like to be taken on
:04:04. > :04:07.board into the America's Cup as part of the American team and help them
:04:08. > :04:11.to victory? As a youngster growing up I love
:04:12. > :04:15.sailing and I still do. I had a few dreams. Maybe one day go to the
:04:16. > :04:24.Olympic Games and when the America's Cup. For that to be a reality is a
:04:25. > :04:30.bit unreal. It is weird. But it has been fantastic. I have been very
:04:31. > :04:34.bit unreal. It is weird. But it has Could we ever have a
:04:35. > :04:38.Cup? We would love to see a British
:04:39. > :04:43.America's Cup team. The America s Cup started in Britain in 1851 with
:04:44. > :04:47.Queen Victoria, all those years ago. The American team won the
:04:48. > :04:51.trophy, to get back to America and renamed it the America's Cup, and we
:04:52. > :04:55.have never seen it since. We have a very proud maritime history, and we
:04:56. > :05:03.would love to see the America's Cup back here on British waters.
:05:04. > :05:08.You said you won't go for gold in Rio 2016. Would you stick with that?
:05:09. > :05:14.I said I wasn't going to raise again in the Olympics. 2012 was amazing to
:05:15. > :05:20.have a home Olympics that was just amazing, and I will stick with that.
:05:21. > :05:26.What advice do you have four kids who want to get involved in saving?
:05:27. > :05:29.At the grassroots, sailing is really easy to get into. You don't need to
:05:30. > :05:35.live near the sea. Reservoirs and rivers have sailing clubs and it's
:05:36. > :05:38.easy to get involved. Sailing is really diverse and there are so made
:05:39. > :05:40.challenges out there you will never get bored.
:05:41. > :05:43.Last up, we're bringing you important beard news. The annual
:05:44. > :05:46.world championships of facial hair are taking place in Germany, pitting
:05:47. > :05:49.some of the finest beards and moustaches from around the world
:05:50. > :05:52.against each other. Magnificent efforts, all.
:05:53. > :05:56.That's it from me - Ricky's back tomorrow morning with a report from
:05:57. > :06:35.those Radio 1 Teen Awards. Don't miss it!
:06:36. > :06:45.Do you know how brilliant your body really is?
:06:46. > :06:54.'In this series, we're pushing our bodies to their limits...'
:06:55. > :06:59.'..by doing extraordinary experiments on each other.'
