:00:10. > :00:14.Good morning, Ricky here with an amazing Arctic trek to come. Let's
:00:15. > :00:17.start with the news that some head teachers are backing the idea of
:00:18. > :00:20.making your summer holidays shorter. Heads from one teaching union will
:00:21. > :00:22.the government to consider cutting the traditional six-week break and
:00:23. > :00:25.spread holidays more evenly throughout the year instead. It's
:00:26. > :00:28.only a suggestion, but the government IS planning to let
:00:29. > :00:41.schools have more of a say on holidays in the future.
:00:42. > :00:44.Next, to the twins taking on the toughest challenge of their lives.
:00:45. > :00:47.Right now, Hugo and Ross are trekking hundreds of miles across
:00:48. > :00:51.Greenland, but there's a twist to their journey. One of the brothers
:00:52. > :00:54.is wearing kit worn by explorers 100 years ago. The other is wearing
:00:55. > :00:59.modern clothing. The idea is to test how their bodies react to the bitter
:01:00. > :01:03.cold. Hugo and Ross are identical twins. They've spent months
:01:04. > :01:10.preparing for a very different Arctic expedition. The brothers will
:01:11. > :01:14.check 340 miles across the Greenland polar icecap to try to raise
:01:15. > :01:20.thousands of pounds for charity. The experience will be different for
:01:21. > :01:25.each of them. Hugo will be dressed in modern protective clothing while
:01:26. > :01:29.Ross will wear the kit used by polar explorers 100 years ago. The
:01:30. > :01:34.brothers decided who would wear what by flipping a coin. The experiment
:01:35. > :01:39.will allow researchers to monitor if and how Hugo benefits from advances
:01:40. > :01:46.in modern technology. They began the trek earlier in the week. How is
:01:47. > :01:50.Ross coping wearing the kit Explorers war years ago?
:01:51. > :01:56.When I stop for a few minutes I can start to feel the wind through
:01:57. > :02:02.here. I've got a thin jumper. I've got three socks and I need to know
:02:03. > :02:06.how the shoes and socks performed so I've tripled up to make sure I don't
:02:07. > :02:12.get frostbite. A pair of trousers, mitts, a hat and a balaclava. I'm
:02:13. > :02:16.very comfortable. They are being guided by the world
:02:17. > :02:21.record-holder for the longest ever unsupported journey in Greenland.
:02:22. > :02:28.The weather today is not great but it is what it is. We are warm, fed
:02:29. > :02:31.and watered so in my eyes that is a happy team.
:02:32. > :02:38.All going well, the trek should take about 22 days.
:02:39. > :02:46.A baby monkey is still missing after thieves broke -- broke into
:02:47. > :02:49.Blackpool zoo. Five of the monkeys were returned yesterday. Plenty more
:02:50. > :02:55.on that and loads more from Newsround today so join us at
:02:56. > :02:58.11:55am to find out how this big hill in Bristol is being turned into
:02:59. > :03:00.a massive water slide. See you soon.
