0:00:10 > 0:00:14Hi, everyone, I'm Ricky with your Monday morning Newsround.
0:00:14 > 0:00:17First, there's a massive space showdown happening in less than 24
0:00:17 > 0:00:22hours between a small spacecraft and one gassy giant.
0:00:22 > 0:00:24Here's Naz.
0:00:24 > 0:00:29Jupiter, the big bad boy of our solar system.
0:00:29 > 0:00:31It is made entirely from gas and shoots out deadly
0:00:31 > 0:00:33amounts of radiation.
0:00:33 > 0:00:38It's so big it can hold 1,400 Earths.
0:00:38 > 0:00:41And, oh, did we mention the huge storm that's been raging
0:00:41 > 0:00:44for hundreds of years?
0:00:44 > 0:00:47If you wanted to pick, aside from the Sun, the scariest
0:00:47 > 0:00:49environment we know of to send a spacecraft to, Jupiter
0:00:49 > 0:00:52would be the place to go.
0:00:52 > 0:00:54Not somewhere you'd want to visit really.
0:00:54 > 0:00:56Unless you're a spacecraft called Juno.
0:00:56 > 0:00:59Lift-off!
0:00:59 > 0:01:02It blasted off to the gas giant way back in 2011.
0:01:02 > 0:01:07It's about the size of a car, so it's tiny compared to Jupiter.
0:01:07 > 0:01:11It's travelled 1.7 billion miles to get there.
0:01:11 > 0:01:13So why bother?
0:01:13 > 0:01:16Well, Juno's mission is to find out how big planets like
0:01:16 > 0:01:19Jupiter are formed.
0:01:19 > 0:01:23It will look down into Jupiter and measure things like temperature
0:01:23 > 0:01:25and water, as well as map the powerful magnetic field
0:01:25 > 0:01:27which surrounds it.
0:01:27 > 0:01:30The radiation means it's not going to be an easy task.
0:01:30 > 0:01:32But scientists have built the spacecraft
0:01:32 > 0:01:33with protective armour.
0:01:33 > 0:01:37It's taken five years to reach Jupiter but the real work for Juno
0:01:37 > 0:01:41is just about to start.
0:01:41 > 0:01:44Next, there's been a big increase in people reporting racism
0:01:44 > 0:01:47to the police over the past week.
0:01:47 > 0:01:50But what would you do if you saw it happening?
0:01:50 > 0:01:53Well, Hayley's been asking that very question.
0:01:53 > 0:01:56I'm going to give you the chance to ask a question that you might
0:01:56 > 0:02:00have in your head about racism, about diversity,
0:02:00 > 0:02:08about being different.
0:02:08 > 0:02:10Alex Holmes is a leading anti-bullying campaigner.
0:02:10 > 0:02:13He's going round schools asking kids to talk about racism and teaching
0:02:13 > 0:02:16them the best way to deal with it if they ever come across it.
0:02:16 > 0:02:18Since the EU referendum, where immigration was a big issue,
0:02:18 > 0:02:25lots of people have reported an increase in racist attacks.
0:02:25 > 0:02:28Comments on social media, attacks in public and in school
0:02:28 > 0:02:29playgrounds, graffiti and abusive cards being posted
0:02:29 > 0:02:31through letter boxes.
0:02:31 > 0:02:34Some Remain voters felt a line was crossed during the campaign
0:02:34 > 0:02:36which allowed people to feel that they can say racist things
0:02:36 > 0:02:40and get away with it.
0:02:40 > 0:02:43But those in the Leave campaign say that's not true
0:02:43 > 0:02:47and that racist attacks have nothing to do with what they have said.
0:02:47 > 0:02:50The police say there have been many more cases of racism reported.
0:02:50 > 0:02:52Even the Prime Minister is talking about it.
0:02:52 > 0:02:54We must be very clear about our commitment to tolerance,
0:02:54 > 0:02:57to diversity and our complete intolerance of racism and hateful
0:02:57 > 0:03:05hate crimes that we've seen in recent days.
0:03:05 > 0:03:10Picture this, you're in class, or in the toilet at break time
0:03:10 > 0:03:12and you notice there is some graffiti.
0:03:12 > 0:03:13It says, send them home, immigrants.
0:03:13 > 0:03:15How does this make you feel?
0:03:15 > 0:03:16What would you do?
0:03:16 > 0:03:18Just not a nice thing to put up.
0:03:18 > 0:03:20I think you have to report it because it's a big deal.
0:03:20 > 0:03:24Immigration is a big topic right now and I think immigrants feel really
0:03:24 > 0:03:28targeted and we should do something about it.
0:03:28 > 0:03:38In the toilets, go and speak to them to paint over
0:03:42 > 0:03:44Scribble over it and write leave them alone.
0:03:44 > 0:03:48It is thought that you would feel more down if you fell down already
0:03:48 > 0:03:50full that what you see somebody being targeted by racism?
0:03:50 > 0:03:52It's really important that you say something.
0:03:52 > 0:03:55Not necessarily to the person that's doing it about you go and tell
0:03:55 > 0:03:57an adult or someone, bus driver, teacher,
0:03:57 > 0:03:58and they can help sort the problem.
0:03:58 > 0:04:00What about if it's you yourself?
0:04:00 > 0:04:01How do you deal with that?
0:04:01 > 0:04:04If you're on the receiving end of racism that can be really
0:04:04 > 0:04:05upsetting and make you angry.
0:04:05 > 0:04:07Don't suffer in silence, don't bottle it up, tell someone
0:04:07 > 0:04:09about what's happening because it's not okay.
0:04:09 > 0:04:11about what's happening because it's not OK.
0:04:11 > 0:04:14It's not acceptable for the people want to help you sort it out.
0:04:14 > 0:04:17So we've had some fun here today but also what have you learned?
0:04:17 > 0:04:20I've learned that it's not wrong to be who you are
0:04:20 > 0:04:21and different from other people.
0:04:21 > 0:04:24And be from a different race because you can be unique.
0:04:24 > 0:04:26Today I've learned that since we left the EU,
0:04:26 > 0:04:27more people have been arguing.
0:04:27 > 0:04:33But I don't think it's time to argue.
0:04:33 > 0:04:35I think we need to stay close as a country.
0:04:35 > 0:04:36Racism is a big thing.
0:04:36 > 0:04:37You can't accept it.
0:04:37 > 0:04:40I feel like it's not a time to be divided.
0:04:40 > 0:04:42It's more a time to unite despite our struggles
0:04:42 > 0:04:46and become stronger.
0:04:46 > 0:04:47That's all from me.
0:04:47 > 0:04:50Newsround's back right here in about half an hour when I'll
0:04:50 > 0:04:52be speaking to British Formula One driver Jolyon Palmer.
0:04:52 > 0:04:54See you then.
