:00:00. > :00:00.It's Friday, I'm Ricky and with erupting volcanoes,.

:00:00. > :00:07.We're taking you into the wiki and with erupting volcanoes

:00:08. > :00:23.First, we're going to try and answer some

:00:24. > :00:27.of your questions about why British planes are dropping bombs on Syria.

:00:28. > :00:31.The first strikes happened earlier this week after UK politicians voted

:00:32. > :00:35.to attack the extremist group Islamic State, who carried out

:00:36. > :00:41.Lots of you have been in touch with questions, so we asked

:00:42. > :00:51.BBC defence correspondent Jonathan Beale to answer them.

:00:52. > :00:56.Gideon and Abigail are worried this will be the start of a bigger one.

:00:57. > :01:00.That is the concern of some people because it is not just about this

:01:01. > :01:05.group Islamic State on the ground, it is also about the involvement of

:01:06. > :01:08.America, Britain, Russia. Russia is on the side of the Syrian

:01:09. > :01:13.Government, the Americans, Britain think they are bad people, bad for

:01:14. > :01:18.the people of Syria, so there is that worry, but the important thing

:01:19. > :01:24.to remember is that these sites are all talking to each other, they all

:01:25. > :01:28.think they have to defeat this group, Islamic State, and they are,

:01:29. > :01:36.they say, still trying to work out a peaceful solution

:01:37. > :01:42.It is not always easy to talk to people who hate everything about

:01:43. > :01:46.you, and that is what it seems Islamic State feels about people

:01:47. > :01:50.like us who live in the West. They have carried out those attacks in

:01:51. > :01:53.Paris, against innocent people, so I think there will be a difficulty to

:01:54. > :02:04.get a peaceful solution with them. They are not just bombing Syria but

:02:05. > :02:10.a particular group in Syria. That is Islamic State. When British

:02:11. > :02:13.warplanes leave here in Cyprus and overseer, they are looking carefully

:02:14. > :02:18.for the right target, they say they are careful not to hurt local

:02:19. > :02:22.people, innocent civilians. That is difficult in war but they say they

:02:23. > :02:24.are taking all the precautions they can to make sure they are only going

:02:25. > :02:25.after the baddies. You can see Jonathan answering more

:02:26. > :02:28.of your questions online now, plus more on the air strikes

:02:29. > :02:31.and what Islamic State is. Volcano news, and the clean-up is

:02:32. > :02:35.on after Mount Etna in Italy spewed Europe's tallest volcano has covered

:02:36. > :02:48.nearby towns with thick ash. Next, put down your afternoon snack,

:02:49. > :02:51.cos we're talking about poo! Yep, you might not give it a second

:02:52. > :02:54.thought after it's flushed down your loo, but in one country in Africa,

:02:55. > :02:57.they're starting to use it as fuel. Day after day, raw sewage in Ghana's

:02:58. > :03:01.capital, Accra, The city doesn't have

:03:02. > :03:05.a proper sewage system and it means human waste like this

:03:06. > :03:10.is often dumped into the ocean. It is so bad that you can

:03:11. > :03:16.hardly breathe. But just down the road from here,

:03:17. > :03:20.a waste company has started to put They firstly separate the water

:03:21. > :03:24.from the solids. They then clean the water

:03:25. > :03:27.and dry the solids. This is coming right

:03:28. > :03:34.after we have treated it. So, after we dry the faeces,

:03:35. > :03:39.we feed it into a barrel. We are burning it to turn it

:03:40. > :03:46.into charcoal. After it is burnt,

:03:47. > :03:49.this is what you have. We grind it to powder,

:03:50. > :03:54.we use cassava flour as a binding agent, to bind it

:03:55. > :03:58.together, put it into a press and press it out into very nice charcoal

:03:59. > :04:04.shapes, for domestic cooking. So what do people living in Accra

:04:05. > :04:08.think about using the charcoal? TRANSLATION: I don't like the fact

:04:09. > :04:10.that it's made But it works so well, it burns

:04:11. > :04:17.faster than ordinary charcoal. So, even though it is made from

:04:18. > :04:22.the toilet, I don't have a problem. The waste company hope that

:04:23. > :04:24.by expanding the sewage plant, they'll be able to recycle all

:04:25. > :04:28.of the human waste in Accra Finally - it might have been

:04:29. > :04:35.designed to travel to Mars, but that hasn't stopped this spacebot from

:04:36. > :04:39.showing off its dance moves, too. Valkyrie here put on this show

:04:40. > :04:40.as its designer at space agency Nasa tested out

:04:41. > :04:55.the range of movements it could Remember to send in your best

:04:56. > :05:00.Christmas jokes, I will be back weekend right here on CBBC, see you

:05:01. > :05:01.tomorrow just before nine.
