0:00:00 > 0:00:00and Adam Lallana.
0:00:00 > 0:00:00See you.
0:00:00 > 0:00:05See you.
0:00:12 > 0:00:15Hi, I'm Whitney and this is Newsround.
0:00:15 > 0:00:17First up, you've just heard the scores but how
0:00:17 > 0:00:19about seeing those goals?
0:00:22 > 0:00:24Manchester City took on West Ham last night.
0:00:24 > 0:00:26The Hammers scored first but Nicolas Otamendi made
0:00:26 > 0:00:28the scores equal again.
0:00:28 > 0:00:30Then David Silva gave City the win with just
0:00:30 > 0:00:32seven minutes to go.
0:00:32 > 0:00:35Cricket now, and it's not a great day for England,
0:00:35 > 0:00:37battling it out with Australia in the Ashes.
0:00:37 > 0:00:40It's best of three games to win the competition and Austalia
0:00:40 > 0:00:42have already won one - and it looks like they'll
0:00:42 > 0:00:44be taking the second.
0:00:44 > 0:00:54Australia scored 442 runs in their first innings and England
0:00:57 > 0:00:58are just 208 for 7 wickets.
0:00:58 > 0:00:59Not great.
0:00:59 > 0:01:01Next, to a young footballer with a big dream.
0:01:01 > 0:01:04Jessica lives in Liberia in West Africa where girls haven't
0:01:04 > 0:01:05traditionally played football - but she's hoping
0:01:05 > 0:01:07to help change that.
0:01:07 > 0:01:10Hi, my name is Jessica.
0:01:10 > 0:01:14Welcome to my home.
0:01:14 > 0:01:16Jessica's ten years old.
0:01:16 > 0:01:18She lives in West Point, which is the biggest slum in Liberia.
0:01:18 > 0:01:22This is where I started playing football when I was six years old.
0:01:22 > 0:01:25She was spotted by a talent scout and has spent
0:01:25 > 0:01:29the last couple of years at the Monrovia football academy.
0:01:29 > 0:01:36It's the first one in Africa to take on both boys and girls.
0:01:36 > 0:01:39In West Africa, the female football is not well structured,
0:01:39 > 0:01:42but this is what we're trying to change, to give the girls access
0:01:42 > 0:01:43to opportunities out there.
0:01:43 > 0:01:45When they're playing good football, they can have opportunities
0:01:45 > 0:01:46of a professional football contract.
0:01:46 > 0:01:49I fell in love with football because I want to be
0:01:49 > 0:01:57a good football player, and I love football very much.
0:01:57 > 0:01:59Nearly two thirds of children in Liberia have never been
0:01:59 > 0:02:04to school, so the academy helps with learning off the pitch, too.
0:02:04 > 0:02:08Jessica's had the chance to play in international games,
0:02:08 > 0:02:11and it's her dream to one day be part of one of Europe's
0:02:11 > 0:02:14biggest clubs, Real Madrid.
0:02:14 > 0:02:18You go, girl!
0:02:18 > 0:02:20Next, have you ever been on a journey and lost
0:02:20 > 0:02:21something along the way?
0:02:21 > 0:02:24Maybe it was your favourite teddy bear.
0:02:24 > 0:02:27Well, that's exactly what happened to ten-year-old Eve in a story that
0:02:27 > 0:02:31gained worldwide attention.
0:02:31 > 0:02:35Here are the 'bear' facts.
0:02:35 > 0:02:37Basil's a chocolate Labrador teddy and he's really special to me
0:02:37 > 0:02:40because he looks like my dog, Archie.
0:02:40 > 0:02:42I take him everywhere.
0:02:42 > 0:02:47We were going to Canada that day, and I forgot all about Basil,
0:02:47 > 0:02:51I thought he was in my bag or I thought my mum had packed him up,
0:02:51 > 0:02:54so we went onto the flight, but he wasn't in my bag.
0:02:54 > 0:02:56I was crying my heart out on the plane.
0:02:56 > 0:03:00I just thought, "Oh, no, I've not got Basil any more."
0:03:00 > 0:03:04And ten-year-old Eve isn't the only one to lose a teddy this year.
0:03:04 > 0:03:06I found another one.
0:03:06 > 0:03:08Another one, is it?
0:03:08 > 0:03:11Put it in with the rest.
0:03:11 > 0:03:14But this year, instead of leaving all the teddies in lost property,
0:03:14 > 0:03:18Glasgow Airport decided to try something a little bit different.
0:03:18 > 0:03:20So, every year at Glasgow airport, we have about 10 million people
0:03:20 > 0:03:23who travel through our doors, and for some of the younger
0:03:23 > 0:03:27travellers they are coming along with their best friend,
0:03:27 > 0:03:30their teddies, and we all know how upsetting it can be
0:03:30 > 0:03:31if they become separated.
0:03:31 > 0:03:37So we went over the lost property office, we found there were teddies
0:03:37 > 0:03:39sitting lonely on the shelves, and we felt, we need
0:03:39 > 0:03:48to do something, we need to try and we unite them.
0:03:48 > 0:03:49-- reunite them.
0:03:49 > 0:03:52They made a video showing off teddies in lost property
0:03:52 > 0:03:53and posting it online.
0:03:53 > 0:03:54And guess what?
0:03:54 > 0:03:55The video went viral.
0:03:55 > 0:03:56Turned up on Good Morning Germany TV.
0:03:56 > 0:03:59It was on TV in Japan.
0:03:59 > 0:04:01It was overwhelming.
0:04:01 > 0:04:03We just really didn't anticipate the level
0:04:03 > 0:04:08of interest we would receive.
0:04:08 > 0:04:11And, amazingly, Eve's mum was one of the people who saw it.
0:04:11 > 0:04:13I didn't think I would actually get him back.
0:04:13 > 0:04:18I just feel so excited, happy, overwhelmed.
0:04:18 > 0:04:23He means so much, he means the world to me.
0:04:28 > 0:04:30I believe this is yours?
0:04:30 > 0:04:34Yeah.
0:04:34 > 0:04:42Missed you.
0:04:42 > 0:04:43So sweet!
0:04:45 > 0:04:47Finally, if you looked at the sky last night,
0:04:47 > 0:04:49then you may have spotted this gem!
0:04:49 > 0:04:51It's called a Supermoon and looked bigger and brighter than usual
0:04:51 > 0:04:53because it was closer to the earth.
0:04:53 > 0:04:55It's the first supermoon since November, but if you missed
0:04:55 > 0:04:58it, don't you worry - you're in for another chance
0:04:58 > 0:05:00as there will be two more before the end of January.
0:05:00 > 0:05:01That's it from me.
0:05:01 > 0:05:02See you in half-an-hour.
