:01:40. > :01:44.seeds. The monkey puzzle tree is under threat. Hayley has more.

:01:45. > :01:51.These are the unmistakable prickles of the monkey puzzle tree. In the

:01:52. > :01:53.wild, they are in real danger of dying out. Conservationists are

:01:54. > :02:01.working hard to make sure they survived. Back in 2009, the team

:02:02. > :02:06.went to Chile in South America to collect seeds from the last Mullaney

:02:07. > :02:10.-- remaining cluster of monkey puzzle trees. Six months on, they

:02:16. > :02:20.couple of weeks. Within six months or so, you will see issue coming out

:02:21. > :02:24.of the top. A tiny, spiky sheet. It takes in six years to get to this

:02:25. > :02:29.stage in their lives, but these have done amazingly well. It could be a

:02:30. > :02:34.prehistoric landscape. Monkey puzzle tree 's date back 200 million years

:02:35. > :02:40.to the dinosaur times. These conifers, apart from being poor

:02:41. > :02:44.quality fodder, grow to 130 feet in height. Along with the monkey puzzle

:02:45. > :02:50.tree seeds, thousands of others were also collected in Chile. They were

:02:51. > :03:01.brought back to the millennium seed bank at Wakehurst. They were put

:03:02. > :03:04.into jars and put into huge... In the next few years, it is hoped that

:03:05. > :03:10.a forest landscape like those in Chile can be recreated here on the

:03:11. > :03:18.slopes of Sussex. These trees in Chile are under threat for all sorts

:03:19. > :03:23.of reasons. Collecting the seeds, and having this scientific

:03:24. > :03:29.collection will help to protect the futures of these trees for

:03:30. > :03:33.generations to come. Luckily, they are tough, strong trees that can

:03:34. > :03:35.tolerate snow, rain and wind, which are all is -- all very common in the

:03:36. > :03:41.UK. Prince Harry has thanked

:03:42. > :03:43.the soldiers who helped to rescue children and their families

:03:44. > :03:46.from their flooded homes just before He told them that hundreds

:03:47. > :03:49.of people across Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cumbria

:03:50. > :03:50.were very grateful. And chatted and laughed with dozens

:03:51. > :03:54.of children who came out to see him. A new home is being built

:03:55. > :03:56.at Edinburgh Zoo, in Scotland, for two rare red pandas,

:03:57. > :03:58.like these ones. There are already two

:04:01. > :04:03.but now two new creatures will arrive in Edinburgh

:04:04. > :04:05.later this year. It's hoped their new home

:04:06. > :04:08.will help them breed. A hungry sea lion has been
