:01:02. > :01:09.It is designed to work in disaster zones and even go into space,

:01:10. > :01:12.but it's just arrived here at the Edinburgh Centre For Robotics,

:01:13. > :01:15.so the programmers hree can push the boundaries of how humans

:01:16. > :01:26.This is an exciting and very compact piece of machinery.

:01:27. > :01:30.Its hardware capabilities are amazing,

:01:31. > :01:33.At the same time you need to make it do things

:01:34. > :01:35.For you and me, walking, balancing,

:01:36. > :01:39.For getting a robot to do something like that,

:01:40. > :01:49.Worth in excess of $2 million US, with 44 movable joints,

:01:50. > :01:52.scanning lasers and cameras to simulate human vision, this

:01:53. > :01:58.The team here is training the robot

:01:59. > :02:01.to enable it to work alongside human astronauts.

:02:02. > :02:12.There is now a robonaut which is a robot with

:02:13. > :02:14.just the upper torso on the ISS space station.

:02:15. > :02:17.It has not yet done any space walks outside, but I think

:02:18. > :02:19.the Valkyrie is taking that to the next generation,

:02:20. > :02:21.potentially working on the surface of Mars.

:02:22. > :02:23.Hundreds of sick and injured servicemen and women

:02:24. > :02:26.are getting ready to compete in the Invictus Games,

:02:27. > :02:29.which start this weekend in Florida in the US.

:02:30. > :02:32.One Team UK competitor is former guardsman Lamin,

:02:33. > :02:37.Ricky's been to meet his 12-year-old son Musa who is going

:02:38. > :02:46.The Invictus games already has the royal seal of approval.

:02:47. > :02:53.Even the US president, Barack Obama, is ready for action.

:02:54. > :03:02.The games begin on the 8th of May in Orlando, in America and will

:03:03. > :03:05.see injured servicemen and women from all over the world go head to

:03:06. > :03:07.head in a whole host of different sports.

:03:14. > :03:21.12-year-old Musa's dad is taking part.

:03:22. > :03:23.Lamin lost both his legs and an arm during the war

:03:24. > :03:28.When we were just sitting down and watching football,

:03:29. > :03:32.he came in with his wheelchair, came really fast, and then he said, "I'm

:03:33. > :03:39.How difficult is it for your dad to get around everyday?

:03:40. > :03:44.Life is hard for him, because you know, he

:03:45. > :03:46.doesn't get to do those things that a father

:03:47. > :03:52.Like he needs some help, he can't travel alone.

:03:53. > :03:54.He should be helping the children and

:03:55. > :03:56.the wife, but instead, we are helping him.

:03:57. > :03:58.I think he feels, like, he feels vulnerable.

:03:59. > :04:01.Why do you think the Invictus games are so important?

:04:02. > :04:04.It's important so we can help the wounded and the hurt to

:04:05. > :04:09.know that they have a meaning in this world, not just that they are
