:00:00. > :00:00.I'm Leah and you're live with Friday's Newsround.
:00:00. > :00:12.Should big museums charge for some exhibits? You tell us!
:00:13. > :00:24.And - the bears making waves at the beach.
:00:25. > :00:26.First, the big day has finally arrived.
:00:27. > :00:28.Today, the Olympics in Rio De Janiero will begin
:00:29. > :00:31.with a massive opening ceremony and Ricky has made the trip
:00:32. > :00:39.to South America and will be covering all the action for us.
:00:40. > :01:05.The venues are waiting. And the athletes?
:01:06. > :01:10.You know, I go out there, and I just stay very within myself.
:01:11. > :01:16.Quite reserved and just do what I know I can do.
:01:17. > :01:19.We believe we can go out there and get a medal.
:01:20. > :01:21.And we'll do our best to go out there and do that.
:01:22. > :01:25.I'm excited about it. We've got a great group around us.
:01:26. > :01:27.And all the teams, the women's, the men's, sprint, row,
:01:28. > :01:32.BMX, we've got a pretty strong team, I think!
:01:33. > :01:35.For me, being able to do that dive now is taking so much
:01:36. > :01:38.I think my dives are now across-the-board strong enough
:01:39. > :01:41.to get me a gold medal in the Olympic Games.
:01:42. > :01:46.For me, I want to run for medals and run for history.
:01:47. > :01:49.And Newsround is ready too. Here we are at Olympic Park in Rio.
:01:50. > :01:52.Tonight, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games 2016 will take
:01:53. > :01:59.We don't know what exactly is going to happen during
:02:00. > :02:01.the opening ceremony because a lot of information
:02:02. > :02:08.But we can expect a lot of music and dancing and fireworks.
:02:09. > :02:10.Team GB are expecting to win lots of medals right
:02:11. > :02:15.During the London 2012 games, they won a total of 65 medals.
:02:16. > :02:20.Can they better that here in Rio? Fingers crossed!
:02:21. > :02:24.And it's going to be a big moment for British tennis star andy Murray
:02:25. > :02:27.who'll be leading out Team GB as Great Britain's flag bearer
:02:28. > :02:36.Luckily, he's been getting in some practice.
:02:37. > :02:52.Take a look... Just raise the flag up between the two... That set!
:02:53. > :02:54.LAUGHTER Andy, that's good! He says it is a role he feels proud
:02:55. > :03:02.of. The chance to lead out your country
:03:03. > :03:07.in an Olympic Games, I'm very, very proud, so,
:03:08. > :03:14.hopefully I do a good job of it! Over the summer holidays,
:03:15. > :03:16.lots of you will probably be taking But one of the country's most
:03:17. > :03:20.popular, The Science Museum in London, says it's planning
:03:21. > :03:23.to charge money to go It's summer - and here
:03:24. > :03:27.at the Science Museum in London, lots of kids have come
:03:28. > :03:29.with their families to see It's free to come here
:03:30. > :03:32.to see most things. But the museum are giving one
:03:33. > :03:35.of the most popular interactive And they say they'll be charging
:03:36. > :03:39.people to come and visit it National museums in England,
:03:40. > :03:47.Wales and Scotland are free to visit, but they can still charge
:03:48. > :03:49.for some special displays. But what do kids here think
:03:50. > :03:53.about the new charge? Folk on tight budgets may not be
:03:54. > :03:59.able to experience everything. They need the money
:04:00. > :04:03.to keep the museums going. If it's really good, you feel good
:04:04. > :04:06.about it, that you paid the money. But if it's really bad,
:04:07. > :04:09.you feel like they ripped you off. If they didn't, they wouldn't have
:04:10. > :04:12.enough money to improve the museum. I don't think it's fair that parents
:04:13. > :04:21.have to fork out when some can't. The new exhibit, Wonderlab,
:04:22. > :04:24.is still being built at the moment - I spoke to Natalie, who's
:04:25. > :04:28.in charge of it. Why did you not feel you could make
:04:29. > :04:31.an example and not charge families? Why did you not just say,
:04:32. > :04:35.look, we've got this to show off It costs a lot of money to run
:04:36. > :04:39.an interactive gallery like this and the ticket charge
:04:40. > :04:44.goes towards running it. For a family of four people,
:04:45. > :04:48.it could cost up to ?30. How do you feel about families
:04:49. > :04:50.who cannot afford it? So, we will be having initiatives
:04:51. > :04:53.to get those families to come to this gallery,
:04:54. > :04:55.if they find that We're doubling the number
:04:56. > :04:58.of schoolchildren who will visit this gallery.
:04:59. > :05:00.They will visit for free. We will be working with schools
:05:01. > :05:04.directly, and pupils who perhaps might not have been able to come
:05:05. > :05:08.can get tickets. And we have other
:05:09. > :05:14.initiatives as well. The new exhibit has cost the science
:05:15. > :05:17.museum around ?6 million to complete but when it open in just two months
:05:18. > :05:21.it will be the visitors who'll judge And finally - what's the last thing
:05:22. > :05:29.you'd expect see at the seaside? How about a family of bears enjoying
:05:30. > :05:32.a splash around at the beach. This video filmed on a mobile shows
:05:33. > :05:36.a fully grown bear and her two cubs splashing around at Pope Beach
:05:37. > :05:38.in California earlier this week. They were completely unfazed
:05:39. > :05:40.by people nearby - before heading off
:05:41. > :05:48.back into the woods. That's all from me, Newsround's live
:05:49. > :05:54.in Rio this afternoon with Ricky.
