:01:23. > :01:27.It's just not what I'm used to, you know what I mean?

:01:28. > :01:30.It's not as sturdy, it's not as firm as I'm used to.

:01:45. > :01:47.A bit like a leopard crossed with a pet cat,

:01:48. > :01:54.but there's no way you've seen a lynx wild in the UK.

:01:55. > :01:57.That's because they used to be hunted for their beautiful fur,

:01:58. > :02:02.and became extinct in the UK about 1,300 years ago.

:02:03. > :02:05.A group called Lynx UK Trust wants to bring them back.

:02:06. > :02:07.They'd like to release six lynx to Kielder Forest in Northumberland

:02:08. > :02:09.for a five-year trial, and they've been talking

:02:10. > :02:21.This is a life-size cutout of a lynx - that is actually how big

:02:22. > :02:26.So, lynx live all over the world, and in human history,

:02:27. > :02:28.a healthy wild lynx has never, ever, ever attacked a human

:02:29. > :02:35.The Lynx Trust say the cats will help keep the deer population

:02:36. > :02:38.down as well as encouraging more tourists to visit the area.

:02:39. > :02:47.They are worried the lynx could be a threat to their sheep.

:02:48. > :02:50.I think it's an absolutely stupid idea for a predator that's not been

:02:51. > :02:53.in this country for a thousand years to be released.

:02:54. > :02:57.As far as I'm concerned, the lynx will go for the easy target,

:02:58. > :02:59.which is going to be sheep and lambs.

:03:00. > :03:02.The decision is now in the hands of a group called Natural England,

:03:03. > :03:05.and if they say yes, it's thought there could eventually

:03:06. > :03:12.be as many as 400 lynx living in forests across the UK.

:03:13. > :03:15.Now to a very special feline friend who's been getting a lot

:03:16. > :03:27.That was until her 12-year-old owner Evie got sick.

:03:28. > :03:31.She has bone cancer, and Genie has been helping to look after her.

:03:32. > :03:33.When I was diagnosed, she'd crawl round my legs,

:03:34. > :03:35.she'd sit at my feet, she'd do pitter-patter,

:03:36. > :03:38.like when she claws, very gently, like this,

:03:39. > :03:54.She was coming round this leg in particular, which is the one

:04:05. > :04:10.It was really good, we had photos taken, it was ace.

:04:11. > :04:19.I guess the judges saw what I see in Genie, an amazing cat.

:04:20. > :04:22.I think she's made a massive difference.

:04:23. > :04:24.I know without her I'd have a lot more darker days,

:04:25. > :04:27.because she just gave me that glimpse of hope that I needed

:04:28. > :04:31.Evie is feeling much better now and has finished her treatment.
