:00:57. > :00:59.They're cute, they're cuddly and, most importantly,

:01:00. > :01:03.they've been brought back from the brink of extinction.

:01:04. > :01:06.Giant pandas live in the wild in China and need lots

:01:07. > :01:12.But with bamboo forests being cut down in China, panda numbers

:01:13. > :01:17.Conservationists thought if nothing was done to help the animals,

:01:18. > :01:24.So how did the animals make a come back?

:01:25. > :01:26.Areas where trees had been cut down were reforested, so more

:01:27. > :01:30.space for pandas to live in and for bamboo to grow.

:01:31. > :01:37.Forests were connected together so that pandas

:01:38. > :01:39.can roam around more, meet each other and create

:01:40. > :01:42.Working with local people to help protect the forests

:01:43. > :01:47.Creating more panda reserves which help look out for the animals.

:01:48. > :01:51.All this has meant, over ten years, panda numbers have gone up

:01:52. > :02:01.If the climate gets too hot for the bamboo to grow,

:02:02. > :02:04.there could be more difficult times for the creatures.

:02:05. > :02:07.There's still only about 2,000 of them left in the wild and that's

:02:08. > :02:11.But it's such a good increase, and as long as we continue

:02:12. > :02:13.to protect the forest then there's a really good chance that,

:02:14. > :02:16.going forward, we'll have even more pandas than we do at the moment.

:02:17. > :02:20.At least 1,000 people have been evacuated from villas

:02:21. > :02:24.It's after a forest fire spread to popular holiday

:02:25. > :02:35.Those evacuated were moved to nearby schools, restaurants or hostels.

:02:36. > :02:38.Moving on, he won a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics in London,

:02:39. > :02:41.now he can add a silver medal from the Rio Olympic

:03:40. > :03:48.It was devastating at the time but now I can reflect on it I am super

:03:49. > :03:49.happy that I am on Olympic silver medallist and I will complete the
