:00:10. > :00:13.Hello there. Remember, remember, the 5th November. It's Bonfire

:00:13. > :00:18.Night, and you are watching Newsround! You are live and it's

:00:18. > :00:21.just after 5. I'm Nel, he's Joe and this is what we have on the show

:00:21. > :00:28.tonight. America gets ready to vote for a

:00:28. > :00:32.new President. It's 60 years since the start of the singles chart and

:00:32. > :00:42.we play some golden oldies. I don't like it.

:00:42. > :00:52.

:00:52. > :00:56.And it's the coldest Bonfire Night First, there are just a few hours

:00:56. > :01:01.left until millions of people vote for who they want to lead one of

:01:01. > :01:06.the world's most powerful nations, America. The candidates, braifrpl

:01:06. > :01:11.from the Democrats and Republican Mitt Romney have been flying all

:01:11. > :01:14.over to convince people to vote for them -- Barack Obama from the

:01:15. > :01:18.Democrats and Mitt Romney. They've been trying to convince America for

:01:18. > :01:21.weeks that they are the best person for the job. It's a close race and

:01:21. > :01:26.in national surveys of how people plan to vote, they are neck and

:01:26. > :01:29.neck. In some of the States where it really matters, the swing states,

:01:29. > :01:32.Obama is slightly ahead. Swing states are the ones in yellow,

:01:32. > :01:38.they're important because people living there don't always vote the

:01:38. > :01:42.same way so that means their votes could decide who wins. President

:01:42. > :01:47.Obama and Mitt Romney are tied or within a couple of points that we

:01:47. > :01:52.have seen so far. We have a handful of swing states where it could go

:01:52. > :01:56.either way, like Florida, Virginia, Ohio. We don't know what's going to

:01:56. > :01:59.happen. They've been travelling all over the country, and with only one

:01:59. > :02:06.day to go they are not slowing down, travelling to seven states between

:02:06. > :02:09.them. Where they can't physically be adverts on TV have been key to

:02:09. > :02:16.their campaigns. 300,000 ads were broadcast last month. If you are

:02:16. > :02:19.thinking this sounds very expensive. You are right. More than 1.5

:02:19. > :02:23.billion will be spent during the election. It's exhausting with both

:02:23. > :02:30.candidates hardly sleeping. Barack Obama even sounded like he was

:02:30. > :02:34.losing his voice on Sunday. Make some phone calls for me. Turn out

:02:34. > :02:39.for me. We'll win Ohio. In a few hours' time, campaigning will be

:02:39. > :02:44.over and the Americans will get their say on who they want to be

:02:44. > :02:47.their next President. Ricky will have a Special Report on

:02:47. > :02:51.the elections from America here at this time tomorrow. He's been in

:02:51. > :02:55.the US since last week. You can read his blog about how he's been

:02:55. > :02:58.getting on on the Newsround website. America is not the only country

:02:58. > :03:06.waiting to see who its new President will be this week. In

:03:06. > :03:13.China, a meeting is taking place where the Nkunda tri's new leader

:03:13. > :03:18.will be announced -- the country's new leader will be announced. China,

:03:18. > :03:23.it's the world's second richest country. Being in charge here is a

:03:23. > :03:26.big deal. On Thursday, they'll find out who their new President is, as

:03:26. > :03:30.well as the other top politicians who'll help run the country for the

:03:30. > :03:37.next ten years. Unlike America and Britain, people

:03:37. > :03:47.in heroin don't get to vote for who they want in charge. -- -- people

:03:47. > :03:51.

:03:51. > :03:55.in China. It's a huge organisation with more than 80 million members.

:03:55. > :04:00.Many people expect this man, the current Vice-President, to be

:04:00. > :04:05.announce as the new President on Thursday.

:04:05. > :04:11.More people live in China than any other country. For every British

:04:11. > :04:15.person, there are 20 Chinese people. China also had a lot of factories,

:04:15. > :04:19.the toys you bought or own were probably made in China. So with all

:04:19. > :04:24.these people and all these factories, China's become a more

:04:24. > :04:28.and more important place and in the future, it could be as powerful as

:04:28. > :04:33.the United States of America. So one of the big issue force

:04:33. > :04:37.China's next President - during his ten years in power, the last

:04:37. > :04:43.President helped make China four times richer. There's still a big

:04:43. > :04:48.gap in the country between rich and poor. It's not fair. I've been to

:04:48. > :04:52.the cities. They're rich. They eat in fancy restaurants every day. My

:04:52. > :04:55.life doesn't compare. Many people also want to see China

:04:55. > :04:59.become a fairer place. This woman wants her five-year-old son to go

:04:59. > :05:03.to a good school. In order to make sure he has a place, she has to pay

:05:03. > :05:06.bribes to local officials. Heroin is changing really quickly and

:05:06. > :05:12.whoever the new President is, they'll have to work hard to keep

:05:12. > :05:17.the country's people happy. Thank you Ore. Joe, remember a time

:05:17. > :05:25.when music was played on something like that? You can play music on

:05:25. > :05:31.those?! I don't remember that at all! Really... 60 years ago is when

:05:31. > :05:36.the music charts began. Dub Step and hip-hop didn't exist and garage

:05:36. > :05:39.was where you puts your bike. Have our tastes change? I went to find

:05:39. > :05:45.out. If I was to say superhit single,

:05:45. > :05:50.what would usually come to mind. Maybe a bit of this.

:05:50. > :05:55.Poker face Hrbgs # Light up my world like

:05:55. > :06:00.nobody else Or maybe this # Got time but I

:06:00. > :06:05.don't mind... # We have seen the good, bad and ugly of the music

:06:05. > :06:11.world with 32,000 songs competing for the top spot, but only a lucky

:06:11. > :06:16.13 get the all-important million song sold. I've come to a primary

:06:16. > :06:22.school to see what some of these make of the best-selling singles.

:06:22. > :06:32.One, two, three o'clock four o'clock rock...

:06:32. > :06:32.

:06:32. > :06:40.Old. I recognise it because my dad owns it. I don't like it.

:06:40. > :06:45.Older kind of people would listen to it, not people nowadays. These

:06:45. > :06:49.guys weren't too impressed but who knows what the guys will think

:06:49. > :06:53.about our number one hits. Hard to please those kids.

:06:53. > :06:57.I loved all of those tracks! Keep 'em coming. If you are heading out

:06:58. > :07:01.tonight to watch the fireworks, wrap up warm. Forecasters say it's

:07:01. > :07:07.one of the coldest nights on Bonfire Night for years.

:07:07. > :07:11.Leah is braving the weather in Yorkshire. How's it all going?

:07:12. > :07:18.Joe and everyone else, welcome to Wentworth Castle in south York. If

:07:18. > :07:23.you are heading here tonight, you are in for a big treat -- South

:07:23. > :07:27.Yorkshire. We have a huge bonfire. It tack two days to make this. In

:07:27. > :07:32.the distance is a Guy Fawkes sitting pretty at the top. Guy

:07:32. > :07:36.Fawkes was actually born in York. Festivities kick off at 6.30, but a

:07:36. > :07:41.warning, it's going to be cold. Temperatures maximum between six

:07:41. > :07:46.and nine, that's a few degrees lower than what we are used to.

:07:46. > :07:50.Some are saying that actually it will be one of the coldest Bonfire

:07:50. > :07:54.Nights on record. A lot of events were called off

:07:54. > :07:58.over the weekend because of the rain. Tonight, the skies are clear

:07:58. > :08:02.so it should mean good visibility for when we have a glittering

:08:02. > :08:07.display in the sky above us. I was heading to a display in Newham in

:08:07. > :08:11.East London which was called off, so tonight we should be in for a

:08:11. > :08:18.good time, wrap up warm, enjoy and I'm going to head out and enjoy the

:08:18. > :08:27.fun. Keep warm. Thank you very much.

:08:27. > :08:33.Strictly Come Dancing has launched or got a rival... Trounched even.

:08:33. > :08:43.Can't even say it. Trounched X Factor in a Saturday night Battle

:08:43. > :08:47.

:08:47. > :08:51.of 10 million viewers. BBC One had two million more viewers than ITV

:08:51. > :08:55.on Saturday. Take a look at this. Before kick off, these Liverpool
