0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hi, I'm Ayshah and this is Tueday morning's Newsround.

0:00:06 > 0:00:08All this on the way...

0:00:08 > 0:00:12The people clubbing together to buy this castle...

0:00:12 > 0:00:13A record breaking rainbow...

0:00:13 > 0:00:19And the pizza party in space.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30First up, loads of plastic like this goes into our oceans every year,

0:00:30 > 0:00:34causing lots of problems for wildlife.

0:00:34 > 0:00:35Environment ministers from around the world are considering

0:00:35 > 0:00:39a total ban on plastic waste in the ocean.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42They talk about it at a UN meeting in Kenya this week.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45More than 8 million tonnes of plastic is dumped in the ocean every

0:00:45 > 0:00:51year, and the UN says it's a 'planetary emergency'.

0:01:00 > 0:01:04The tremendous amount of May plastic we use in our economy ends up in the

0:01:04 > 0:01:06ocean.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08The ocean has been seen as a trash dump, where we dump

0:01:08 > 0:01:10everything we don't need.

0:01:10 > 0:01:11And that plastic never goes away, mostly.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14It floats to the surface, it falls down to the bottom

0:01:14 > 0:01:16and we urgently need to do something about it.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19A year ago, eleven-year-old Raghba had never even played Squash.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21But now she's dreaming of playing for her country - Syria.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24She trains almost everyday, focusing on her game and working

0:01:24 > 0:01:27to be quicker on her feet.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30But five years ago, life was very different for Raghba and her family.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32When they were forced to leave their home town of Homs

0:01:32 > 0:01:37because of the war in Syria.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40They moved across the border to Jordan, where they first

0:01:40 > 0:01:43lived in a refugee camp.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46It was when the family moved to the outskirts of the city that

0:01:46 > 0:01:52Raghba and her sisters got the chance to try squash.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55She now plays in a team of four girls and it's not just

0:01:55 > 0:02:01all about the sport either.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03We have training five times a week, learning to play both squash

0:02:03 > 0:02:06and English, to help them become competitive squash players,

0:02:06 > 0:02:08so they can compete in tournaments, both here in Jordan

0:02:08 > 0:02:09and around the world.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11And we also want them to achieve academic status,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13so they can enrol in schools.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15Squash isn't an overly popular sport in Syria,

0:02:15 > 0:02:17although lots of people play it in other countries

0:02:17 > 0:02:20in the Middle East.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23But now Raghba and her team-mates are hoping to one day go back

0:02:23 > 0:02:28to Syria and share their love of the sport.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31TRANSLATION:It's been six months since I played squash

0:02:31 > 0:02:34and I want to play around the world and go back to Syria

0:02:34 > 0:02:35and become a coach.

0:02:35 > 0:02:42I want to take part in Arab and foreign tournaments.

0:02:44 > 0:02:45TRANSLATION:I like sport and especially squash

0:02:45 > 0:02:48because when I grow up I want to travel and compete

0:02:48 > 0:02:55in tournaments around the world and make Syria and my family proud.

0:02:55 > 0:03:01Best of luck, girls! I hope you smash it.

0:03:01 > 0:03:02Now to cricket, and the Ashes.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05It wasn't good news for England yesterday but today they're

0:03:05 > 0:03:07fighting back, on day four of the second test.

0:03:07 > 0:03:10The teams play five tests over the course of the competition.

0:03:10 > 0:03:13Australia won the first test, and England need to do really well

0:03:13 > 0:03:17over the next day and a half to win the second.

0:03:18 > 0:03:21Now to a lovely tale of a police officer who rescued a dog

0:03:21 > 0:03:22after Hurricane Irma.

0:03:22 > 0:03:28He's now brought him back to the UK from the British Virgin Islands.

0:03:28 > 0:03:31Meet Buddy, the lucky labrador cross, who is now living in the UK.

0:03:31 > 0:03:32Sit.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34Good boy.

0:03:34 > 0:03:38Buddy is a stray.

0:03:38 > 0:03:40He won the heart of a police officer called John Harvey.

0:03:40 > 0:03:43John was sent from Suffolk Police to the British Virgin Islands

0:03:43 > 0:03:48to help people after the devastation of Hurricane Irma.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51He put his paws around my thigh and just wouldn't let me go, really.

0:03:51 > 0:03:54I was trying to leave and he was walking with me

0:03:54 > 0:03:57on his back legs and I just thought, you know, I'd like to

0:03:57 > 0:03:58bring him home if I can.

0:03:58 > 0:04:01And give him a chance of a better life, really.

0:04:01 > 0:04:04Buddy spent 21 days in Washington, DC in the US, where vets checked

0:04:04 > 0:04:06that he was healthy and fit, before he was allowed

0:04:06 > 0:04:10to travel on to the UK.

0:04:10 > 0:04:14It was fantastic, really good to see him, he was excited, I was excited.

0:04:14 > 0:04:23And it was kind of the start of the next chapter.

0:04:23 > 0:04:25The pair are now ready for new adventures together.

0:04:25 > 0:04:35But it can all get a bit exhausting...

0:04:37 > 0:04:38Don't blame you, Buddy!

0:04:38 > 0:04:40Imagine owning somewhere as fancy as this!

0:04:40 > 0:04:43But without having to spend loads and loads of money to buy it!

0:04:43 > 0:04:46Thousands of people across the world joined together to buy this

0:04:46 > 0:04:47thirteenth century French castle.

0:04:47 > 0:04:50It cost 500,000 euros to buy, but some people only paid around

0:04:50 > 0:04:51£45 for a share.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54They're now planning to fix it up and restore it to it's former glory.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57Now to the reason why this rainbow is record breaking.

0:04:57 > 0:04:59It's because it lasted nearly nine hours, usually they only stay

0:04:59 > 0:05:01for less than half an hour.

0:05:01 > 0:05:03It was seen over the skies of Taiwan in East Asia.

0:05:03 > 0:05:06Professors at a university watched it and said it was there

0:05:21 > 0:05:25very own pizza party.

0:05:25 > 0:05:27The toppings - pepperoni, tomato sauce, cheese and olives,

0:05:27 > 0:05:29were all sent up on a special supply ship.

0:05:29 > 0:05:31Commander Randy Bresnik said the pizzas were

0:05:31 > 0:05:35"flying saucers of the edible kind".

0:05:35 > 0:05:40Well, that's just one of the best quotes ever!

0:05:40 > 0:05:43That's all from the morning team - go online for the rest of the day's

0:05:43 > 0:05:46stories including skiing santas and pictures of the supermoon.
