:00:00. > :00:10.Hi, I'm Ricky with your morning Newsround. On today's show: Why
:00:11. > :00:14.there could soon be loads more jobs in space.
:00:15. > :00:22.And fancy a swim, anyone? Probably not in this icy water.
:00:23. > :00:26.First, It's been a difficult few weeks for thousands of people as the
:00:27. > :00:29.wild weather continues to grip parts of the UK. This morning more coastal
:00:30. > :00:34.flooding is expected as strong winds batter the west coast of England and
:00:35. > :00:37.Wales. South West Scotland and the eastern coast of Northern Ireland
:00:38. > :00:39.are particularly at risk. The Enviroment Agency has issued 90
:00:40. > :00:43.flood warnings. Forecasters say we can expect "colossal waves" whipped
:00:44. > :00:56.up by winds of 70mph. They also say that December 2013 was the stormiest
:00:57. > :00:58.on record. And parts of America are preparing
:00:59. > :01:01.for potentially record-breaking freezing temperatures, brought in by
:01:02. > :01:04.an arctic blast of air. A winter storm has already covered areas of
:01:05. > :01:08.Canada and the north-eastern US, with up to 60cm of snow. Schools in
:01:09. > :01:17.Chicago are closing and officials are telling people to stay indoors.
:01:18. > :01:22.This whether combination we are seeing, with all of the snow and
:01:23. > :01:27.cold, it is unlike anything we have seen in decades. I can't emphasise
:01:28. > :01:38.that enough. The cold scares me. This cup of boiling water instantly
:01:39. > :01:41.freezes in midair. Next, fancy yourself as a future
:01:42. > :01:47.astronaut or interested in helping launch a rocket into space? Dream
:01:48. > :01:51.jobs to some of you, I'm sure, but the good news is they might not be
:01:52. > :01:55.impossible dreams. Chancellor George Osborne, who is in charge of the
:01:56. > :01:58.country's money, says he wants the UK space industry to treble over the
:01:59. > :02:02.next 20 years. That should mean loads more jobs for when you grow
:02:03. > :02:05.up, whether it's helping to send up the satellites that make mobile
:02:06. > :02:09.phones work or making devices like this one to map the stars.
:02:10. > :02:12.Next, Bandy is not a game that many of you will have heard of. It's
:02:13. > :02:16.basically ice hockey played on a sheet of ice the size of a football
:02:17. > :02:19.pitch, with a ball instead of a puck. Unsurprisingly, the countries
:02:20. > :02:22.that win major competitions are generally from colder climates like
:02:23. > :02:25.Sweden, Finland or Russia. But when this year's World Championships take
:02:26. > :02:28.place later this month in Siberia, there will be a new contender...
:02:29. > :02:33.From Africa. Nel's got more. It is like ice hockey but it is
:02:34. > :02:38.played with the ball. And this is Somalia's national team. The hot
:02:39. > :02:40.east African country is not somewhere you would associate with
:02:41. > :02:46.sport played in freezing temperatures. Until now. The players
:02:47. > :02:52.grew up in the boiling heat of Mogadishu, with a high crime rate
:02:53. > :02:56.and a lot that matter a lot -- and a lack of job specs. These players
:02:57. > :03:04.have moved to Sweden and were spotted playing in an -- a local
:03:05. > :03:08.football team. They have courage. They have been part of things we
:03:09. > :03:15.don't want to dream about. Going on ice and on skates was nothing for
:03:16. > :03:21.them. In just a few weeks the team will represent Somalia in the World
:03:22. > :03:27.Championships in Siberia. Representing my country is crazy! I
:03:28. > :03:32.can't describe the feeling. Temperatures there can plummet to
:03:33. > :03:36.-50. To prepare, they have spent time in a giant freezer. They know
:03:37. > :03:40.that against experienced teams like Sweden and Russia they don't stand
:03:41. > :03:43.much of a chance. But, for them, even if they don't score a single
:03:44. > :03:50.goal, it is really the taking part that counts.
:03:51. > :03:54.As you heard earlier, Manchester United are out of the FA Cup after
:03:55. > :03:58.suffering a shock home defeat to Swansea. The score was 1-1 until
:03:59. > :04:01.this late goal in the 90th minute from Wilfried Bony gave Swansea
:04:02. > :04:04.their first ever victory at Old Trafford. It's United's second
:04:05. > :04:09.defeat on the trot, so the pressure's on for manager David
:04:10. > :04:12.Moyes. More than a year after Ellie
:04:13. > :04:16.Goulding released her second album, it's finally reached the top of the
:04:17. > :04:19.charts. It's taken 12 months to get there. The album, called Halcyon,
:04:20. > :04:21.features five Top 40 singles, including her debut number one,
:04:22. > :04:25.'Burn'. In the singles chart, US rapper pit bull scored the first
:04:26. > :04:29.number one of the year with Timber, featuring Kesha.
:04:30. > :04:33.You've heard of a cold shower to wake you up. How about an icy cold
:04:34. > :04:36.swim? More than 700 brave swimmers dived into water over 20 degrees
:04:37. > :04:39.below zero in the annual ice swimming competition in Chinese city
:04:40. > :04:49.of Harbin. It involves a race across the pool.
:04:50. > :04:53.Just enough time to tell you what is on the website. We have made our New
:04:54. > :04:59.Year resolutions. Head online to check out what we have decided to do
:05:00. > :05:00.in 2014! We are back at 4.20 this afternoon. Have a great day.
:05:01. > :05:01.Goodbye.
