0:00:06 > 0:00:09Coming up in the next few minutes...
0:00:09 > 0:00:13Your thoughts on two new saturday night singing shows.
0:00:13 > 0:00:14What did Stonehenge sound like?
0:00:14 > 0:00:19And the mysterious eggs washed up on a German beach.
0:00:28 > 0:00:30First up, the last orca show will take place
0:00:30 > 0:00:32at SeaWorld, in San Diego, in America this weekend.
0:00:32 > 0:00:35The company has faced a lot of criticism over the last few years
0:00:35 > 0:00:39about the treatment and welfare of its killer whales.
0:00:39 > 0:00:42Martin has been finding out more.
0:00:42 > 0:00:47Graceful, powerful and intelligent, we're talking about orcas,
0:00:47 > 0:00:50or killer whales as they're better known.
0:00:50 > 0:00:53For many years these whales have performed in shows across America
0:00:53 > 0:00:56at amusement parks run by the company SeaWorld.
0:00:56 > 0:00:58But, not anymore.
0:00:58 > 0:01:00In 2015 Californian authorities banned SeaWorld from breeding
0:01:00 > 0:01:05Orcas in captivity.
0:01:05 > 0:01:07And after a lot of pressure from celebrities and animal rights
0:01:07 > 0:01:10groups, in 2016 SeaWorld announced that they were putting an end
0:01:10 > 0:01:15to killer whale performance shows in their parks.
0:01:15 > 0:01:18This weekend marks the final show at one of those parks
0:01:18 > 0:01:22in San Diego in California.
0:01:22 > 0:01:25SeaWorld currently has killer whale shows at two other parks in America,
0:01:25 > 0:01:31in Texas and Florida, but they will be gradually phased out too.
0:01:31 > 0:01:34Instead of performing tricks, the whales will now be used to help
0:01:34 > 0:01:37teach people more about orca life.
0:01:37 > 0:01:39Animal rights groups have praised SeaWorld for making positive steps
0:01:39 > 0:01:43in the right direction, but some still think more can be
0:01:43 > 0:01:46done to help protect the animals' welfare.
0:01:46 > 0:01:49Some are suggesting the whales should be moved to sanctuaries
0:01:49 > 0:01:52by the sea where they can live in an environment closer to that
0:01:52 > 0:01:56of their natural homes in the wild.
0:01:56 > 0:01:58The fight for killer whale rights seems set
0:01:58 > 0:02:00to continue into the future, but things are definitely changing
0:02:00 > 0:02:06for these underwater giants.
0:02:07 > 0:02:09How's this for an epic mission?
0:02:09 > 0:02:11William Lindesay, from England, has filmed the entire Great Wall
0:02:11 > 0:02:14of China from the air, by drone - all 5,500 miles of it.
0:02:14 > 0:02:17He's been obsessed with the wonder of the world, since seeing it
0:02:17 > 0:02:22in a school atlas as a child.
0:02:22 > 0:02:30His travels have taken him all over north China and even to Mongolia.
0:02:30 > 0:02:33And from the sight of one giant monument to the sound of another.
0:02:33 > 0:02:35The noises of Stonehenge from 3000 years ago has been recreated
0:02:35 > 0:02:37in digital form using technology made for computer games
0:02:37 > 0:02:38and virtual reality.
0:02:38 > 0:02:42Visitors to the famous site in the south west of England will be
0:02:42 > 0:02:44able to experience the sounds from the time the stone circle
0:02:44 > 0:02:47was intact, which are thought to have been an important part
0:02:47 > 0:02:55of Stonehenge when it was built.
0:02:56 > 0:02:58If you've been missing The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing,
0:02:58 > 0:03:01fear not because this weekend sees the launch of two Saturday night
0:03:01 > 0:03:03singing contests - new show Let It Shine
0:03:03 > 0:03:05and ITV's version of The Voice.
0:03:05 > 0:03:07But with all these talent shows hitting our screens,
0:03:07 > 0:03:12we wanted to know if you are still interested in watching.
0:03:13 > 0:03:15Christmas is over, January is here and that sees the start
0:03:15 > 0:03:20of a new BBC One singing show - but not The Voice.
0:03:20 > 0:03:22After five years on the channel that's moved
0:03:22 > 0:03:24to a new home on rival ITV.
0:03:24 > 0:03:26The BBC has gone for its own big new music programme,
0:03:26 > 0:03:28with Gary Barlow leading the search
0:03:28 > 0:03:35for the cast of a Take That musical, in Let It Shine.
0:03:35 > 0:03:38Both shows will go head-to-head in a battle to dominate
0:03:38 > 0:03:40Saturday night telly.
0:03:40 > 0:03:44But reality singing shows have had a bit of a difficult time recently.
0:03:44 > 0:03:45December's X Factor final was the least watched
0:03:45 > 0:03:48in the show's history.
0:03:48 > 0:03:51And last year's The Voice saw viewers vanishing.
0:03:51 > 0:03:56So, what do you guys think about the new shows about to start?
0:03:56 > 0:03:59I would probably prefer the new show Let It Shine because I think it's
0:03:59 > 0:04:02time for a new show.
0:04:02 > 0:04:04Some of these shows are getting quite repetitive.
0:04:04 > 0:04:07You see the same things.
0:04:07 > 0:04:10This new show is a new concept so it will be a lot better.
0:04:10 > 0:04:14It's happened with a lot of shows, like Strictly, I used to love,
0:04:14 > 0:04:15Britain's Got Talent, I used to love.
0:04:15 > 0:04:18Now, maybe it's because I'm getting older, and getting bored and I end
0:04:18 > 0:04:25up just going off and watching something else on my phone.
0:04:25 > 0:04:28I'm not too bothered about the TV shows but I would rather watch
0:04:28 > 0:04:33movies like Harry Potter.
0:04:33 > 0:04:36I think I might watch Let It Shine because I've already watched
0:04:36 > 0:04:40The Voice so we know the theme of what it will be about.
0:04:40 > 0:04:43The Voice, it's been on for a while, sometimes it can get repetitive.
0:04:43 > 0:04:47I think both of them will be great because I love the spinning chairs
0:04:47 > 0:04:49on The Voice.
0:04:49 > 0:04:51I like that new show will be showing something different
0:04:51 > 0:04:55than what we've already got.
0:04:55 > 0:04:58I think The Voice is a good show because they don't judge
0:04:58 > 0:05:03people on their looks, they judge people on how they sing.
0:05:03 > 0:05:06I think I would prefer to watch the new show, Let It Shine,
0:05:06 > 0:05:09because it is something different and I might not get bored
0:05:09 > 0:05:12by something I might have seen a few years ago.
0:05:12 > 0:05:17I'm going to watch both of them because they both look good.
0:05:21 > 0:05:23An injured baby elephant in Thailand has learnt to walk
0:05:23 > 0:05:25again, with the help of a special swimming pool.
0:05:25 > 0:05:28The 5-month-old, called Clear Sky, is the first elephant to get this
0:05:28 > 0:05:35kind of water therapy, after she lost her foot in a trap.
0:05:35 > 0:05:37Despite most elephants loving the water, she was a little nervous.
0:05:37 > 0:05:39But her vet says she's already showing signs of improvement.
0:05:39 > 0:05:42A flood of plastic eggs containing tiny toys has been swept ashore
0:05:42 > 0:05:45the German island of Langeoog after a fierce storm.
0:05:45 > 0:05:47The eggs seem to have come from a container
0:05:47 > 0:05:48lost by a cargo ship.
0:05:48 > 0:05:50Local children have been helping collect the unexpected
0:05:50 > 0:05:54treasure before it becomes a hazard for wildlife.
0:05:54 > 0:05:56Egg-celent news!
