:00:00. > :00:09.Hey, guys, Martin here with all the latest news. Coming up:
:00:10. > :00:13.The theatre show to get kids super-keen on science.
:00:14. > :00:15.You've been telling us if you think the right person won The Voice.
:00:16. > :00:25.This is Newsround. First, how much food gets wasted in
:00:26. > :00:29.your home? A new report out today from a House of Lords committee says
:00:30. > :00:34.far too much food's being thrown away across Europe each year. It
:00:35. > :00:37.says 90 million tonnes of food is wasted annually throughout Europe,
:00:38. > :00:43.and 15 million tonnes here in the UK. The report calls for more action
:00:44. > :00:45.to stop the waste and says buy-one, get-one free offers in supermarkets
:00:46. > :00:50.encourage shoppers to buy more food than we need. But not everyone
:00:51. > :00:55.agrees that these offers are the biggest part of the problem
:00:56. > :01:02.buy one get one free, there isn't a lot of evidence that it actually
:01:03. > :01:07.contributes significantly to food waste. Clearly, if the retailers
:01:08. > :01:10.have evidence that it does, and Tesco did last year on bagged salad,
:01:11. > :01:15.they can stop those promotions. The main reasons we are wasting food,
:01:16. > :01:19.there are two main categories, either we are cooking too much and
:01:20. > :01:23.not using the leftovers or we are letting it go off before we use it,
:01:24. > :01:28.so that comes down to us and the way we plan and the way we shop. The
:01:29. > :01:33.winner of this year's series of The Voice has been crowned. Look away
:01:34. > :01:38.now if you don't want to know who it is! It's Jermain!
:01:39. > :01:43.Yes, Jermain beat favourite Christina Marie, Sally and Jamie in
:01:44. > :01:46.last night's live final. The London teenager, who gets a big record deal
:01:47. > :01:49.now, thanked will.i.am for being the "best coach ever".
:01:50. > :01:54.You've been telling us this morning whether you think the right person
:01:55. > :01:58.won. Ava says she totally agrees with will.i.am because Jermain is an
:01:59. > :02:13.amazing singer and he deserved to get this big spot!
:02:14. > :02:28.Thanks for all those Sport now and Andy Murray has got a
:02:29. > :02:32.massive battle on his hands as he tries to take Britain into the Semi
:02:33. > :02:36.Finals of the Davis Cup, for the first time in 33 years. He needs to
:02:37. > :02:44.win his singles match in play right now live on BBC Two. As you can see
:02:45. > :02:47.from these pictures, Andy is a set down against Italy's Fabio Fognini.
:02:48. > :02:51.It seems Murray is struggling to cope with the pressure of playing in
:02:52. > :02:54.front of an Italian crowd. Footy and Scotland beat Poland, and
:02:55. > :02:57.Northern Ireland lost to Sweden, in yesterday's women's Home Nations
:02:58. > :02:59.World Cup Qualifiers. But England thrashed Montenegro 9-0, with
:03:00. > :03:05.striker Toni Duggan scoring a magnificent hat-trick.
:03:06. > :03:10.Next, an explosive new theatre performance is aiming to get more
:03:11. > :03:13.kids interested in science. Banging balloons, fireballs and freezing
:03:14. > :03:23.flowers are all part of The Energy Show at the Science Museum in
:03:24. > :03:30.London. Here's a sneak preview. The faster the reaction, the bigger
:03:31. > :03:32.the bank! -- Bang Do not try this at home!
:03:33. > :03:35.. This demonstration shows the chemical reaction when you ignite a
:03:36. > :03:40.hydrogen balloon - and the explosive result! It's one of the live
:03:41. > :03:42.experiments that's part of The Energy Show at the Science Museum in
:03:43. > :03:47.London. The idea is to have a lot of fun and
:03:48. > :03:53.to learn a bit of science at the same time. Most hopefully won't have
:03:54. > :03:58.seen musical lightning before. I had never seen it before yesterday. It
:03:59. > :04:03.is incredible, genuine lightning in the cage. Then I wanted to go and
:04:04. > :04:06.find out about how it all worked. The play is about two science
:04:07. > :04:09.students trying to prove their knowledge of energy. And there's a
:04:10. > :04:15.virtual Einstein to guide the audience through the tricky bits. I
:04:16. > :04:19.learned that you can make lightning in your kitchen. I never knew you
:04:20. > :04:24.would be able to do that. I thought only the sky can do it. I liked the
:04:25. > :04:27.part when they tried to blow up the liquid nitrogen. The show is soon
:04:28. > :04:31.going on tour across England and Wales. And the hope is that it'll
:04:32. > :04:38.help show that science can be sparky.
:04:39. > :04:44.Just enough time to finish with a round-up of the weirdest stories of
:04:45. > :04:49.the week. Take it away, Nel. First up, robot police. A team of
:04:50. > :04:53.engineers in America have developed this come about 1.5 metres tall and
:04:54. > :05:01.has special built-in cameras so it can detect when things go wrong.
:05:02. > :05:05.Stranger! When you get on a plane, there is usually a bit of time
:05:06. > :05:10.before take-off, so what do you do to pass the time? If you are the
:05:11. > :05:18.cast of the Lion King musical, you belt out a rendition of The Circle
:05:19. > :05:21.Of Life. The Australian cast did in Brisbane when they were waiting to
:05:22. > :05:31.take. That is I call in-flight entertainment.
:05:32. > :05:35.Strangest! Have you ever imagined what it would be like to have
:05:36. > :05:40.special powers? One young boy's dreams came true when his dad used
:05:41. > :05:49.some pretty nifty special effects to turn him into a superhero. Weight!
:05:50. > :05:54.It is all down to his dad's Daniel's skills with a computer, but
:05:55. > :05:58.then he does work for the world-famous animations company
:05:59. > :06:01.DreamWorks. I wonder if he could turn me into Wonder Woman?
:06:02. > :06:02.That's all
