0:00:01 > 0:00:05See ya!
0:00:05 > 0:00:06Happy Friday!
0:00:06 > 0:00:09I'm Jenny, with all the top stories from around the world, live on CBBC.
0:00:09 > 0:00:11Keep watching -
0:00:11 > 0:00:18we meet the UK's Eurovision Song Contest singers.
0:00:18 > 0:00:18And Andy Murray cruises in to the quarterfinals
0:00:18 > 0:00:23of the Madrid Open.
0:00:28 > 0:00:33First, this weekend wildlife legend Sir David Attenborough
0:00:33 > 0:00:34will celebrate his 90th birthday.
0:00:34 > 0:00:37He's travelled across the world, witnessed the birth of new species
0:00:37 > 0:00:40and captured the nation with his tv programmes.
0:00:40 > 0:00:43One person he's hugely inspired is CBBC's very own Steve Backshall,
0:00:43 > 0:00:48who sent us this message for his idol.
0:00:48 > 0:00:53My earliest memories of Sir David Attenborough
0:00:53 > 0:00:57were watching his Zoo Quest series, which were quite a long time ago
0:00:57 > 0:01:01now, and they were real expeditions.
0:01:01 > 0:01:07I think they were my first time that I got to see unbelievable adventures
0:01:07 > 0:01:07like that in really exotic places, and I instantly thought,
0:01:07 > 0:01:07that is amazing.
0:01:07 > 0:01:11That is what I want to do with my life.
0:01:11 > 0:01:12Hello!
0:01:12 > 0:01:17There have been so many favourite moments.
0:01:17 > 0:01:17It is very difficult to choose any one.
0:01:17 > 0:01:18But he has completely transformed my view
0:01:18 > 0:01:21of the wild world.
0:01:21 > 0:01:23These engaging chicks are so inquisitive that you only
0:01:23 > 0:01:27have to sit down to their own level for them all to gather around
0:01:27 > 0:01:32you to try and discover what sort of creature you are.
0:01:32 > 0:01:35I think perhaps my very favourite would be a moment when he
0:01:35 > 0:01:38was in South Georgia on the edge of Antarctica,
0:01:38 > 0:01:45and he was in front of two wandering albatross as they sat on their nest,
0:01:45 > 0:01:46going through this extraordinary ritual, this beautiful dance,
0:01:46 > 0:01:49as they were essentially reaffirming their bonds,
0:01:49 > 0:01:52having been apart for a year or perhaps more.
0:01:52 > 0:01:59And now, that is even more significance to me, because I have
0:01:59 > 0:02:00had the chance to go back there, to Bird Island, to that exact same
0:02:00 > 0:02:04spot, and to sit, as Sir David did, behind two birds going through this
0:02:04 > 0:02:06same unbelievable dance.
0:02:06 > 0:02:09They will stay together for the rest of their lives.
0:02:09 > 0:02:13And that, when you come to think of it, is very unusual.
0:02:13 > 0:02:18So Sir David Attenborough, you have a wonderful birthday,
0:02:18 > 0:02:21and I hope that there are many more years of your superb,
0:02:21 > 0:02:22scintillating programmes.
0:02:22 > 0:02:32I, for one, am definitely going to be watching.
0:02:32 > 0:02:32Next, people are having to move again to escape
0:02:32 > 0:02:33the wildfires in Canada.
0:02:33 > 0:02:35Thousands of people had to leave their homes
0:02:35 > 0:02:36when the fires started.
0:02:36 > 0:02:38With the flames still burning strongly, there are worries people
0:02:38 > 0:02:41could get trapped by the fires if they don't move again.
0:02:41 > 0:02:44There are less than two weeks to go until the Eurovision Song Contest
0:02:44 > 0:02:48takes place in Sweden.
0:02:48 > 0:02:48This year the UK will be represented by Joe and Jake
0:02:48 > 0:02:50with their song You're Not Alone.
0:02:50 > 0:02:54We sent Hayley to find out how they're getting on.
0:02:54 > 0:02:57Joe and Jake!
0:02:57 > 0:03:04Congratulations, Joe and Jake, you are the people's choice.
0:03:04 > 0:03:06You're off to Stockholm to represent the United Kingdom at
0:03:06 > 0:03:09the Eurovision Song Contest.
0:03:09 > 0:03:10Tell me about this magic musical duo.
0:03:10 > 0:03:15How did it all begin?
0:03:15 > 0:03:15We met on series four of The Voice.
0:03:15 > 0:03:18Things just kicked off very easily, you know, we became friends pretty
0:03:18 > 0:03:20much straight from the off, because we found similarities
0:03:20 > 0:03:21in quite a few things.
0:03:21 > 0:03:24Once the show was over, for both of us, then we started
0:03:24 > 0:03:29meeting up as friends, and then we just thought, why don't
0:03:29 > 0:03:29we work on things musically?
0:03:29 > 0:03:33And then we decided to form a duo, and 12 months later we are here.
0:03:33 > 0:03:34# I'll be your parachute...#
0:03:34 > 0:03:37In May, you are about to take over the world
0:03:37 > 0:03:41at the Eurovision Song Contest.
0:03:41 > 0:03:42How are you feeling about that?
0:03:42 > 0:03:42It's not long now.
0:03:42 > 0:03:42It's not long at all.
0:03:42 > 0:03:43We are excited.
0:03:43 > 0:03:45We're obviously nervous, but we are really excited.
0:03:45 > 0:03:48We signed up this and we are so proud to be representing the UK.
0:03:48 > 0:03:51Just can't wait to go out there, sing our song to an audience
0:03:51 > 0:03:53of 200 million people.
0:03:53 > 0:03:57No pressure at all!
0:03:57 > 0:03:57It is going to be amazing.
0:03:57 > 0:03:57Eurovision you travel, like, all around the world,
0:03:57 > 0:04:01you perform the song, and you really mix with thefans.
0:04:01 > 0:04:05And obviously, that is an experienced in itself -
0:04:05 > 0:04:08just kind of seeing how dedicated everyone is to the Eurovision
0:04:08 > 0:04:12Song Contest, and how massive it is in some
0:04:12 > 0:04:12countries' cultures.
0:04:12 > 0:04:14Have you got any tips for people who are looking
0:04:14 > 0:04:16at you and aspiring to be like you?
0:04:16 > 0:04:17Definitely - just never to give up.
0:04:17 > 0:04:24I mean, ifyou've got a dream, nothing is impossible, is it?
0:04:24 > 0:04:27So you know, when me and Jake were 13, 14,
0:04:27 > 0:04:29if someone would have told us that wewere in the position
0:04:29 > 0:04:31we are in now,we probably would have been like,
0:04:31 > 0:04:32no, we wouldn't be!
0:04:32 > 0:04:34It's just a case of keep working hard.
0:04:34 > 0:04:36If you want something enough, you've just got to
0:04:36 > 0:04:40work for it, and one day you'll get there.
0:04:40 > 0:04:40So Eurovision!
0:04:40 > 0:04:41Eurovision!
0:04:41 > 0:04:42Oh, that's brilliant!
0:04:42 > 0:04:44Finally to tennis, and Andy Murray has reached the quarterfinals
0:04:44 > 0:04:48of the Madrid Open, beating Frenchman Gilles Simon,
0:04:48 > 0:04:49in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-2.
0:04:49 > 0:04:58The defending champ and Britain's number one will now play
0:04:58 > 0:04:58Tomas Berdych in the last eight.
0:04:58 > 0:04:59That's all from the team for now, but we're back at 8:15am.
0:04:59 > 0:05:02Bye!
