:00:11. > :00:12.Good morning, it's Ricky here with Newsround for you this Sunday

:00:13. > :00:16.We'll be opening day six of Newsround's advent calendar.

:00:17. > :00:18.First this morning, Storm Desmond has been causing big problems

:00:19. > :00:21.for people living in parts of the north-west of England and Scotland.

:00:22. > :00:23.Hundreds of people were forced to leave their

:00:24. > :00:26.homes as rivers burst their banks and flood waters rose quickly.

:00:27. > :00:31.Around one month's worth of rainfall fell in just 24 hours.

:00:32. > :00:33.There are still more than 50 flood warnings in place.

:00:34. > :00:35.BBC's Fiona Trott is in Keswick in Cumbria,

:00:36. > :00:50.Yes, good morning. This is the first time we been able to get down to the

:00:51. > :00:54.river bank in Keswick. It was completely covered yesterday in

:00:55. > :00:59.water. You can see the damage it has left behind, it has taken away some

:01:00. > :01:04.of the foundations of the bridge there. Also, look, no rain for the

:01:05. > :01:09.moment. You can see how fast the river is flowing, though, and the

:01:10. > :01:16.debris it has left behind. Lots of branches and bits of trunk here, a

:01:17. > :01:21.window in a monks all that debris. Move to the side here, you can see a

:01:22. > :01:26.lot of silt from the flood water last night. If you peek over the

:01:27. > :01:32.top, you can just see how fast the river is still flowing, underneath

:01:33. > :01:37.that bridge as well. This morning, people out and about, walking over

:01:38. > :01:41.that bridge, taking a look, taken photographs, they couldn't do it

:01:42. > :01:46.last night, it was far too dangerous, but more families coming

:01:47. > :01:52.down here. They are curious to see what Desmond left behind. Angus, you

:01:53. > :01:58.are down here with your family. What is it like? It is just shocking, all

:01:59. > :02:05.the debris and residue of the mud, trees, branches, it is unbelievable.

:02:06. > :02:13.It must be sad, this is your town. Again, folks being evacuated two

:02:14. > :02:20.times, homes flooded, devastated. What are you think of it? It is

:02:21. > :02:28.terrifying, it comes from nowhere. What do you think of the river? It

:02:29. > :02:29.is scary. We will have more on the storm.

:02:30. > :02:34.This week it's all about your Christmas traditions.

:02:35. > :02:43.Hello, I am a Muslims so I don't celebrate Christmas, but I still get

:02:44. > :02:51.presents because my birthday is on Christmas. Next week we want your

:02:52. > :02:56.best Christmas jokes. Head to the new job website to send us a video

:02:57. > :02:58.of telling us yours. Newsround is back just after 12, have a great

:02:59. > :03:02.morning, goodbye.
