0:00:04 > 0:00:07Good morning and welcome to your world of news with me,

0:00:07 > 0:00:09Hayley.

0:00:09 > 0:00:13Find out about the donut you can eat that's made from real gold.

0:00:13 > 0:00:16And I'm in Las Vegas at one of the biggest tech shows

0:00:16 > 0:00:20in the world, checking out the future of gaming.

0:00:32 > 0:00:35But first, is virtual reality the future of gaming?

0:00:35 > 0:00:38Well, some of the world's biggest tech companies think so.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40They've just unveiled their latest headsets which they think

0:00:40 > 0:00:43will change the way you play.

0:00:43 > 0:00:46Ricky got to test drive them at the world's biggest gadget show

0:00:46 > 0:00:48in Las Vegas.

0:00:50 > 0:00:54Every year, thousands of tech fans fly to the US for a chance to see

0:00:54 > 0:00:58loads of new cool gadgets before they hit the shops -

0:00:58 > 0:01:03from the biggest TVs to these rather unusual smart chairs.

0:01:03 > 0:01:07But this year, everyone's talking about these things.

0:01:07 > 0:01:11Sony, Oculus and HTC are all releasing virtual reality headsets.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14We've seen earlier versions of these products over the last couple

0:01:14 > 0:01:17of years, but 2016 really does seem to be the year when these things

0:01:17 > 0:01:20become a reality.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24Right now, I'm actually underwater.

0:01:24 > 0:01:29Wow, there's a stingray just coming close to me there.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31I think I'm on a shipwreck.

0:01:31 > 0:01:33Virtual reality can be anything.

0:01:33 > 0:01:36You just went underwater, for example, but you could also go

0:01:36 > 0:01:37to space, you could go anywhere.

0:01:37 > 0:01:42But only now is the technology ready to deliver that amazing experience,

0:01:42 > 0:01:46like the one you just had when you were underwater.

0:01:46 > 0:01:48This is the Oculus Rift.

0:01:48 > 0:01:52People are queueing to have a go at this for two hours today.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54It's proved very popular.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56The people who make this have announced that it will be

0:01:56 > 0:01:57released later this year.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59But it's going to cost around ?400.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01That's a lot of money, and you do need a really

0:02:01 > 0:02:04high-powered PC for this to work properly.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14OK?

0:02:18 > 0:02:21You've got loads of different accessories to go with the virtual

0:02:21 > 0:02:23reality headsets, too.

0:02:23 > 0:02:28From gloves to this bit of kit, which really puts you into the game.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31As you run around in this kit, you're actually running around

0:02:31 > 0:02:35in the video game so you're actually becoming part of the character.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38But the only downside is that it is quite big and again,

0:02:38 > 0:02:39of course, it is quite expensive.

0:02:39 > 0:02:43I can't imagine having one of these in my bedroom.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47Technology has evolved and for the first time can actually

0:02:47 > 0:02:52move in a virtual environment.

0:02:52 > 0:02:54Sony PlayStation's headset is also on the way.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57And for something a bit cheaper, the Samsung Gear VR works by simply

0:02:57 > 0:02:59slipping a smartphone into the front.

0:02:59 > 0:03:01And guys, make sure you come back tomorrow -

0:03:01 > 0:03:03we'll be looking at the world of drones and robots.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12Next, tens of thousands of people have been tuning in online to watch

0:03:12 > 0:03:15a live stream of a puddle.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18A man working in an office near a big puddle got

0:03:18 > 0:03:20so into the way people were trying to cross it

0:03:20 > 0:03:24without getting their feet wet that he started streaming it online.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27Around 20,000 people were watching within hours to see some

0:03:27 > 0:03:30of the unusual attempts.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33And if you're gripped by the puddle like all those other people,

0:03:33 > 0:03:36get to the Newsround website to see more!

0:03:36 > 0:03:39I know we've only just got back from our Christmas break,

0:03:39 > 0:03:41but for some people we're already thinking about school exams -

0:03:41 > 0:03:50as their timings could be about to change.

0:03:50 > 0:03:50That's

0:03:50 > 0:03:50That's in

0:03:50 > 0:03:51That's in England,

0:03:51 > 0:03:51That's in England, Wales

0:03:51 > 0:03:51That's in England, Wales and

0:03:51 > 0:03:51That's in England, Wales and Northern

0:03:51 > 0:03:52That's in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

0:03:52 > 0:03:54That's in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

0:03:54 > 0:03:55It's all because of Ramadan.

0:03:55 > 0:03:57That's the month when Muslims eat nothing while it is daylight.

0:03:57 > 0:04:00Many teachers have said they're worried that Muslim pupils cannot

0:04:00 > 0:04:02concentrate on exams when they are unable to eat.

0:04:02 > 0:04:05So the timetable for GCSEs and A-levels has changed so that

0:04:05 > 0:04:07some pupils can sit their exams earlier in the year.

0:04:07 > 0:04:10Prince George has had his first day at nursery and two pictures

0:04:10 > 0:04:12were released to mark the occasion.

0:04:12 > 0:04:15They were taken by his mum, the Duchess of Cambridge,

0:04:15 > 0:04:21rather than a royal photographer.

0:04:21 > 0:04:24Everton have celebrated a 2-1 win over Manchester City in the first

0:04:24 > 0:04:27leg of their League Cup semifinal.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30They scored their first goal at the end of the first half,

0:04:30 > 0:04:32then Jesus Navas scored an equaliser to bring City level.

0:04:32 > 0:04:34Just two minutes later, Everton scored their second goal

0:04:34 > 0:04:37to secure the win.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39Now to a very expensive donut.

0:04:39 > 0:04:42It comes complete with champagne icing, a mousse filling

0:04:42 > 0:04:45and a sprinkling of real 24-carat gold flakes.

0:04:45 > 0:04:48It's on sale in New York for $100 - around ?68.

0:04:48 > 0:04:51I'd better start saving!

0:04:51 > 0:04:52That's all from me.

0:04:52 > 0:04:55Newsround's back right here in about half an hour.
