0:00:03 > 0:00:08Hello, I'm Hayley and welcome back to Newsround.

0:00:08 > 0:00:12How a puddle became an internet hit.

0:00:12 > 0:00:15And I'm in Las Vegas at one of the biggest tech shows

0:00:15 > 0:00:19in the world, checking out the future of gaming.

0:00:29 > 0:00:33Just over three weeks ago, British astronaut Tim Peake blasted

0:00:33 > 0:00:37into orbit to live on board the International Space Station,

0:00:37 > 0:00:41but now he's getting ready for a trip outside his craft,

0:00:41 > 0:00:45to test his nerve and carry out his first ever spacewalk!

0:00:46 > 0:00:50The International Space Station, floating in orbit 250 miles

0:00:50 > 0:00:52above the Earth.

0:00:52 > 0:00:56In just a few days, its hatch will open and two astronauts,

0:00:56 > 0:01:00Tim Peake and Nasa's Tim Kopra, will step outside the craft

0:01:00 > 0:01:04into nothing but infinite miles of space.

0:01:04 > 0:01:05Their mission?

0:01:05 > 0:01:10To replace a broken solar unit bolted onto the outside of the ISS.

0:01:10 > 0:01:11A simple job?

0:01:11 > 0:01:13Absolutely not.

0:01:13 > 0:01:17They'll be travelling at 17,500 mph and if that doesn't make things

0:01:17 > 0:01:22difficult enough, they'll be wearing 160-kilogram spacesuits.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24And even though they're weightless in space,

0:01:24 > 0:01:28they're big, bulky and very tricky to work in.

0:01:28 > 0:01:30You've got to imagine that they're up there,

0:01:30 > 0:01:33orbiting the Earth at 17,000 mph in a tin can, basically,

0:01:33 > 0:01:34in the vacuum of space.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36And they're all protected within that environment,

0:01:36 > 0:01:40but they've got to step outside into that near vacuum of space

0:01:40 > 0:01:43and sort of float there, outside the station.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45So it is difficult.

0:01:45 > 0:01:49It will actually take them a few hours just to get suited up.

0:01:49 > 0:01:53They've got to put the special suit on to go outside and then they'll be

0:01:53 > 0:01:55out there for about six hours doing the job.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58To get them ready for their task, the astronauts will breathe pure

0:01:58 > 0:02:01oxygen for two hours before leaving the ISS.

0:02:01 > 0:02:04This will get rid of another gas in their bodies,

0:02:04 > 0:02:06called nitrogen, that can cause problems when they're

0:02:06 > 0:02:08in their spacesuits.

0:02:08 > 0:02:11To stop them floating away into the void, they'll be attached

0:02:11 > 0:02:15to each other and to the craft by a 26-metre steel line.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18Tim's underwater training has prepared him well for the mission

0:02:18 > 0:02:21and he's looking forward to the challenge.

0:02:21 > 0:02:23He even tweeted about his excitement, saying he was thrilled

0:02:23 > 0:02:26to be doing his first ever spacewalk.

0:02:28 > 0:02:32And if you want to know more on that amazing walk in space,

0:02:32 > 0:02:35get to the website, where we've got everything you need to know

0:02:35 > 0:02:40about Tim Peake and his trip to the International Space Station.

0:02:40 > 0:02:44Now, 20,000 people have tuned in online to see a puddle!

0:02:44 > 0:02:47A man working in an office near a big puddle started filming

0:02:47 > 0:02:50the way people were trying to cross it without getting their feet wet.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53Within hours, thousands were following it to see the funny

0:02:53 > 0:02:56ways people get round it.

0:02:56 > 0:02:59And if you're gripped by the puddle, like all those other people,

0:02:59 > 0:03:02you can see more of the highlights on the Newsround website.

0:03:02 > 0:03:06Now to virtual reality - could it be the future of gaming?

0:03:06 > 0:03:09Well, some of the world's biggest tech companies think so.

0:03:09 > 0:03:11They've just unveiled their latest headsets, which they think

0:03:11 > 0:03:13will change the way you play.

0:03:13 > 0:03:17Ricky's in Las Vegas trying them out at the world's biggest gadget show.

0:03:20 > 0:03:24Every year, thousands of tech fans fly to the US for a chance to see

0:03:24 > 0:03:26loads of new cool gadgets before they hit the shops -

0:03:26 > 0:03:31from the biggest TVs to these rather unusual smart chairs.

0:03:31 > 0:03:35But this year, everyone's talking about these things.

0:03:35 > 0:03:40Sony, Oculus and HTC are all releasing virtual reality headsets.

0:03:40 > 0:03:43We've seen earlier versions of these products over the last couple

0:03:43 > 0:03:46of years, but 2016 really does seem to be the year when these things

0:03:46 > 0:03:51become a reality.

0:03:51 > 0:03:54Right now, I'm actually underwater.

0:03:54 > 0:03:56Wow, there's a stingray just coming close to me there.

0:03:56 > 0:04:00I think I'm on a shipwreck.

0:04:00 > 0:04:02Virtual reality can be anything.

0:04:02 > 0:04:06You just went underwater, for example, but you could also go

0:04:06 > 0:04:08to space, you could go anywhere.

0:04:08 > 0:04:10But only now is the technology ready to deliver that amazing experience,

0:04:10 > 0:04:16like the one you just had when you were underwater.

0:04:16 > 0:04:18This is the Oculus Rift.

0:04:18 > 0:04:21People are queueing to have a go at this for two hours today.

0:04:21 > 0:04:23It's proved very popular.

0:04:23 > 0:04:26The people who make this have announced that it will be

0:04:26 > 0:04:27released later this year.

0:04:27 > 0:04:29But it's going to cost around ?400.

0:04:29 > 0:04:32That's a lot of money, and you do need a really

0:04:32 > 0:04:38high-powered PC for this to work properly.

0:04:48 > 0:04:51You've got loads of different accessories to go with the virtual

0:04:51 > 0:04:54reality headsets, too.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57From gloves to this bit of kit, which really puts you into the game.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00As you run around in this kit, you're actually moving around

0:05:00 > 0:05:04in the video game so you're actually becoming part of the character.

0:05:04 > 0:05:07But the only downside is that it is quite big and again,

0:05:07 > 0:05:09of course, it is quite expensive.

0:05:09 > 0:05:12I can't imagine having one of these in my bedroom.

0:05:12 > 0:05:15Technology has evolved and for the first time gamers can

0:05:15 > 0:05:19actively move in a virtual environment.

0:05:19 > 0:05:22Sony PlayStation's headset is also on the way.

0:05:22 > 0:05:25And for something a bit cheaper, the Samsung Gear VR works by simply

0:05:25 > 0:05:29slipping a smartphone into the front.

0:05:29 > 0:05:31And guys, make sure you come back tomorrow -

0:05:31 > 0:05:33we'll be looking at the world of drones and robots.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40Imagine this - a gooey donut filled with mousse,

0:05:40 > 0:05:45topped with sticky icing and costing $100!

0:05:45 > 0:05:48Yep, the world's most expensive donut is made with champagne

0:05:48 > 0:05:49and sprinkled with 24-carat gold flakes.

0:05:49 > 0:05:54It costs about ?68 and is on sale in New York.

0:05:54 > 0:05:57That's all from me, but we'll see you later this afternoon.

0:05:57 > 0:05:59Have a good day.
