0:01:27 > 0:01:29It comes after a massive snow storm that reached
0:01:29 > 0:01:30as far south as Florida.

0:01:33 > 0:01:42These girls in the city Boston sent us this.
0:01:42 > 0:01:47Hi, Newsround, this is Boston, USA, and it's so cold.
0:01:47 > 0:01:50We have had 12 and a half inches of snow.
0:01:50 > 0:01:51It was awesome!
0:01:51 > 0:01:56We got the day off school.
0:01:56 > 0:01:59We read books, baked banana bread and watched TV.
0:01:59 > 0:02:06After the snowstorm, the snowploughs cleared the roads
0:02:06 > 0:02:10and my mum and dad cleared the snow in front of our house.
0:02:10 > 0:02:20Bye from Boston!
0:02:20 > 0:02:23So the weather has been a real surprise - not just for humans,
0:02:23 > 0:02:24but for animals as well.
0:02:24 > 0:02:25Watch this.
0:02:25 > 0:02:28Animals that live in parts of America that are never affected
0:02:28 > 0:02:30by the cold have been pretty surprised by what happened.
0:02:30 > 0:02:31Check out these iguana.
0:02:31 > 0:02:32They've been stunned by the cold.
0:02:32 > 0:02:34Cold-blooded animals are used to warm climates.
0:02:34 > 0:02:36Now they can't get warm at all.
0:02:36 > 0:02:37Don't worry though, they weren't hurt.
0:02:37 > 0:02:39Once the temperature gets back to around 15 degrees,
0:02:39 > 0:02:42their blood will warm up and they will start
0:02:42 > 0:02:43to function properly.
0:02:43 > 0:02:46And over in Texas, 500 sea turtles have had to be rescued.
0:02:46 > 0:02:48They all came to shore after the water left them freezing.
0:02:48 > 0:02:51They will be kept cosy at a recovery centre until they are well
0:02:51 > 0:02:53enough to go back to sea.
0:02:53 > 0:02:55But not all animals have seen the chilly sight.
0:02:55 > 0:02:58These guys are loving the snow - check out this horse rolling around.
0:02:58 > 0:03:01And this dog loves to go sledging around so he carried his own sledge
0:03:01 > 0:03:11to the top and down he goes!
0:03:14 > 0:03:16Plans to create a new Northern Forest stretching
0:03:16 > 0:03:18accross the UK from Liverpool to Hull have been announced.
0:03:18 > 0:03:21The plan is to plant thousands of trees along a belt
0:03:21 > 0:03:23taking in the cities of Manchester, Leeds and Bradford.
0:03:23 > 0:03:25It will see new woods planted near towns and river
0:03:25 > 0:03:26valleys liable to flooding.
0:03:26 > 0:03:29The Woodland Trust is running the project, which will cost
0:03:29 > 0:03:38£500 million over 25 years.
0:03:38 > 0:03:40Do you worry about how you look or how many likes
0:03:40 > 0:03:42you get on social media?
0:03:42 > 0:03:46Well, a report this week says that at secondary school this becomes
0:03:46 > 0:03:47a lot more important to kids like you.
0:03:47 > 0:03:56Here's what some of you guys thought about it.
0:03:56 > 0:03:59The biggest change is probably how much people use it and how many
0:03:59 > 0:04:02people actually use it in the school.
0:04:02 > 0:04:06People, like, think it's a lot cooler to actually use social
0:04:06 > 0:04:13media now rather than, like, in year six.
0:04:13 > 0:04:16Social media really impacts you, and the way you look, and want to
0:04:16 > 0:04:17come across.
0:04:17 > 0:04:20Especially in secondary school.
0:04:20 > 0:04:22So there is a lot more pressure in secondary school to get
0:04:22 > 0:04:30likes and followers.
0:04:30 > 0:04:33In secondary school, I think people are a lot
0:04:33 > 0:04:36more conscious of what they post and how it looks and just the things
0:04:36 > 0:04:39that they say or do on it.
0:04:39 > 0:04:41For me, it's not that much of a pressure,
0:04:41 > 0:04:43because I don't really care what people think.
0:04:43 > 0:04:49Everybody in high school, if they see you and they see
0:04:49 > 0:04:51you're on Instagram, they'll try to follow you.
0:04:51 > 0:04:52Not everybody, but most people.
0:04:52 > 0:04:57Because they just want to get followers.
0:04:57 > 0:05:00In secondary school, there's a lot of
0:05:00 > 0:05:03insecurities about looks and the way you dress and come to school,
0:05:03 > 0:05:08because on social media it's kind of showing how you should look.
0:05:08 > 0:05:10People think that you need the likes, to get, like,
0:05:10 > 0:05:13fame in the school.
0:05:13 > 0:05:15There is more pressure to be looking good
0:05:15 > 0:05:19on social media when you're older, because you've got more pressure on
0:05:19 > 0:05:20your appearance.
0:05:20 > 0:05:22People think that they should look better when they're
0:05:22 > 0:05:24older.
0:05:24 > 0:05:33In primary school, we had just one or two social medias, I
0:05:33 > 0:05:38wasn't really aware what the dangers where, but now and in secondary
0:05:38 > 0:05:47school and people have talked about it a lot more.
0:05:47 > 0:05:49I've had a lot more talks with my parents and with
0:05:49 > 0:05:52school, talking about the dangers of other people that you don't know
0:05:52 > 0:05:53following you.
0:05:53 > 0:05:56That's it from us guys, Newsround's back at 14:15.
0:05:56 > 0:06:00Head online for the rest of the day's stories.
