0:00:04 > 0:00:06Morning, I'm Hayley - your top stories on Newsround

0:00:06 > 0:00:09this morning...

0:00:09 > 0:00:13Success for the world's most powerful rocket!

0:00:13 > 0:00:21What girls think about girls.

0:00:21 > 0:00:24Powerful. Independent.

0:00:24 > 0:00:27And the dog with its own bedroom.

0:00:35 > 0:00:39Big news in the world of space travel.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41The most powerful rocket in the world, the Falcon Heavy,

0:00:41 > 0:00:47was successfully launched into space last night.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49Houston, run this VT!

0:00:49 > 0:00:54Five, four, three, two, one, blastoff!

0:00:54 > 0:00:57It's taken seven years but, boys and girls, that is what

0:00:57 > 0:01:03you call a successful launch of the most powerful rocket ever built.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05The Falcon Heavy is the brainchild of SpaceX,

0:01:05 > 0:01:07the company run by South African Elon Musk.

0:01:07 > 0:01:09Never heard of him?

0:01:09 > 0:01:12Well, it's rumoured that Robert Downey Jr

0:01:12 > 0:01:15based the character Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man, on him.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18Kind of gives you an idea about the type of guy he is.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21Back to the rocket.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24It used 27 separate engines to launch it into

0:01:24 > 0:01:28space - that's around the same power as 18 Boeing 747 aeroplanes taking

0:01:28 > 0:01:32off, and twice as powerful as any other rocket in use at the minute.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35It means the Falcon Heavy can carry twice as much into space, 64 tonnes

0:01:35 > 0:01:38to be exact.

0:01:38 > 0:01:42That's basically five double-decker buses.

0:01:42 > 0:01:46It opens up the possibility for astronauts to travel

0:01:46 > 0:01:49further, and bigger robots to be sent to planets like Mars.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52On top of that, the boosters that the Falcon

0:01:52 > 0:01:56uses to power it into space are reusable.

0:01:56 > 0:01:58Once detached from the main body of the craft they should

0:01:58 > 0:01:59fly themselves back to Earth.

0:01:59 > 0:02:03Now, that is cool.

0:02:03 > 0:02:05So, who was lucky enough to be on the first flight?

0:02:05 > 0:02:07Well, no humans, unfortunately.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10You see, a lot of test flights can go wrong.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13But that's not to say the spaceship was empty.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16Bring forth, Starman.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19Yeah, that's a dummy riding a cherry red car to Mars,

0:02:19 > 0:02:22with the radio on, of course.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30Rescue teams are working hard to help people in Taiwan

0:02:30 > 0:02:31after a strong earthquake there.

0:02:31 > 0:02:33Four people died and 200 others are hurt.

0:02:33 > 0:02:34Many buildings have been damaged.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37Hundreds of people had to sleep outside in the city

0:02:37 > 0:02:41of Hualien last night.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43A lot of things have changed in the UK since women fought

0:02:43 > 0:02:46for the right to vote 100 years ago.

0:02:46 > 0:02:49Back then, women weren't allowed to have a say in elections,

0:02:49 > 0:02:50and couldn't do certain jobs.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54So we wanted to know what you think about being a girl in 2018.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56What's the best thing about being a girl?

0:02:56 > 0:02:58You've got a strong mind.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01You can, like, go out shopping with my mates and have sleepovers.

0:03:01 > 0:03:03What can be difficult about being a girl?

0:03:03 > 0:03:06Sometimes people underestimate you.

0:03:06 > 0:03:10Sometimes a stereotype that a girl's supposed to look a certain

0:03:10 > 0:03:14way and dress a certain way, but not everyone wants to do that.

0:03:14 > 0:03:15People have higher expectations of girls

0:03:15 > 0:03:16than they do of boys.

0:03:16 > 0:03:20Do you think girls and boys are treated the same?

0:03:20 > 0:03:22No, especially like when you get older, boys get paid more

0:03:22 > 0:03:28than girls.

0:03:28 > 0:03:32Girls, I think, we can, like, boys are better at football.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34I think that in school girls and boys are

0:03:34 > 0:03:36treated the same because everybody should be equal in school.

0:03:36 > 0:03:38Boys and girls are the same, really.

0:03:38 > 0:03:40I don't think that there should be much difference.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42Who are your female role models and why?

0:03:42 > 0:03:45Rosa Parks because she stood up for the equality of everyone.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47Nicola Adams because she shows that sports isn't just for

0:03:47 > 0:03:48like boys and men.

0:03:48 > 0:03:49Finish the sentence.

0:03:49 > 0:03:51Girls are...

0:03:51 > 0:03:52Powerful.

0:03:52 > 0:03:53Mature and they don't give up on things.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55Independent.

0:03:55 > 0:04:00Equal to boys.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03OK, time for a quick round-up of some of the other

0:04:03 > 0:04:04top stories today...

0:04:04 > 0:04:05And, wow!

0:04:05 > 0:04:08What a game for Swansea in their FA Cup fourth round replay.

0:04:08 > 0:04:09They thrashed Notts County 8-1.

0:04:09 > 0:04:13The Swans will now face Sheffield Wednesday.

0:04:13 > 0:04:17Huddersfield and Rochdale also won their replays.

0:04:17 > 0:04:18It's looking more and more likely that Leicester

0:04:18 > 0:04:20midfielder Riyad Mahrez won't be involved in their

0:04:20 > 0:04:27Premier League match against Manchester City on Saturday.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30He's been hoping for a move to the league leaders

0:04:30 > 0:04:31but the deal fell through.

0:04:31 > 0:04:33And he hasn't reported for training now for a week.

0:04:33 > 0:04:39A service took place at Old Trafford yesterday to mark 60 years

0:04:39 > 0:04:42since an aeroplane coming from the European Cup tie

0:04:42 > 0:04:44crashed as it took off at Munich airport.

0:04:44 > 0:04:45It's known as the Munich air disaster.

0:04:45 > 0:04:4823 people died, including eight Manchester United players.

0:04:48 > 0:04:51If you've got a dog, where does it like to sleep?

0:04:51 > 0:04:53In a basket on the kitchen floor?

0:04:53 > 0:04:55Or maybe even at the bottom of your bed?

0:04:55 > 0:04:56Well, not this pampered pooch!

0:04:56 > 0:04:58She has her very own special bedroom!

0:04:58 > 0:05:02Check it out!

0:05:02 > 0:05:04It looks so cosy, doesn't it?

0:05:04 > 0:05:07This dog den belongs to Molly, a West Highland terrier

0:05:07 > 0:05:09who lives in Scotland.

0:05:09 > 0:05:11Her family was worried Molly would feel left out

0:05:11 > 0:05:14when their new baby arrived.

0:05:14 > 0:05:17So they built her a special bedroom of her own under the stairs.

0:05:17 > 0:05:22It's not just a little cubbyhole with a dog basket in it either.

0:05:22 > 0:05:25I wouldn't mind taking a nap on that big cushion myself!

0:05:25 > 0:05:29Molly's also got her own big sofa to stretch out on,

0:05:29 > 0:05:32and all her favourite cuddly toys are there, too, to keep her company.

0:05:32 > 0:05:36She's even got pictures of her and her family on the walls.

0:05:36 > 0:05:38So has the idea worked?

0:05:38 > 0:05:39Yes!

0:05:39 > 0:05:42Molly has become baby Caitlin's best friend.

0:05:42 > 0:05:44They are PAW-some pals.

0:05:44 > 0:05:52Let's just hope the new baby doesn't get jealous of Molly's new room.

0:05:52 > 0:05:58That's it from me.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01Woof over her head - Ayshsah's back this afternoon.
