0:00:13 > 0:00:17And the dogs paddling their way to a surfing crown.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30They say dogs are man's best friend but on Middle Island in Australia,

0:00:30 > 0:00:33dogs and penguins are even closer than that.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36Some specially trained Maremma dogs have the job of protecting local

0:00:36 > 0:00:39penguins from foxes.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42Martin has more.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45These guys have a important job to do.

0:00:45 > 0:00:47They protect the penguins.

0:00:47 > 0:00:51They are called Little Penguins, and are the smallest in the world.

0:00:51 > 0:00:54Foxes have been attacking the colony living on the Middle Island

0:00:54 > 0:00:56in Australia for years.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59The problem became so bad in 2006, there

0:01:04 > 0:01:07to use his Maremma dogs, that protect his chickens,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09to protect the penguins.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12The famous story is that penguins are just chooks in dinner

0:01:12 > 0:01:15suits, so if we can train them to look after the chooks,

0:01:15 > 0:01:18low to the ground, feathered variety, they should transfer over

0:01:18 > 0:01:20to the penguins.

0:01:20 > 0:01:24These sister dogs started work and over the last ten years,

0:01:24 > 0:01:26they've done a fantastic job.

0:01:26 > 0:01:30Penguin numbers on the island are now more than 180.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32But lately, they've been getting too old for

0:01:32 > 0:01:36fox chasing, so now there is a new recruit.

0:01:36 > 0:01:39It will take a lot of training to get him up to speed but it should

0:01:39 > 0:01:42prove to be worth the effort.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46To football now and Leicester are still top of the premier league

0:01:46 > 0:01:47after the weekend's action.

0:01:59 > 0:02:00in the first half.

0:02:00 > 0:02:05Manager Louis Van Gaal was not too impressed.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08It's a big blow again, because it was not necessary.

0:02:08 > 0:02:11You see the game in the first half, then it was not

0:02:11 > 0:02:15necessary, I think.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18We want to know who you think will win the Premier League.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20Do you think Leicester have got what it takes

0:02:20 > 0:02:21to be crowned champions?

0:02:42 > 0:02:46This was like a bit of a bonus, we hadn't done any madison changes,

0:02:46 > 0:02:48it was just something we would get up

0:02:48 > 0:02:52and do, a bit of a spectacle at the end, so it was so nice to be
