:00:10. > :00:13.It's Tuesday, I'm Jenny and this is Newsround.

:00:14. > :00:18.A special camera gets rocketted into space.

:00:19. > :00:23.We get a pigeon's eye view of pollution....

:00:24. > :00:36.First up, some space news and a new camera satellite has been

:00:37. > :00:38.launched by the European Space Agency.

:00:39. > :00:44.Satellite Sentinel 2B will join another satellite already in space

:00:45. > :00:47.to take pictures of the Earth's surface every five days and send

:00:48. > :00:49.back information about pollution levels in lakes and coastal waters,

:00:50. > :00:56.as well as checking on the world's forests.

:00:57. > :00:58.Also helping to measure pollution are some unexpected

:00:59. > :01:02.Yes, pigeons are being used in an experiment to learn

:01:03. > :01:07.Martin has been 'coo-vering' over the story.

:01:08. > :01:13.I see them all the time in the city, trying to find bits of food

:01:14. > :01:16.But how are they linked to pollution

:01:17. > :01:22.- apart from both starting with the letter P?

:01:23. > :01:24.Well, scientists are using pigeons to gather information by strapping

:01:25. > :01:32.It is known that pollution that comes of our cars with diesel

:01:33. > :01:34.engines rises to rooftop level, but what isn't known

:01:35. > :01:37.is what happens next to the pollution, where does it go?

:01:38. > :01:54.I thought, well, birds, they fly everywhere.

:01:55. > :01:57.If they can carry the sensors, and they are tiny enough, we

:01:58. > :01:59.can start to understand the dispersion

:02:00. > :02:02.Birmingham University are carrying out a test flight.

:02:03. > :02:05.It is the first time we have done this.

:02:06. > :02:08.One of the pigeons is fitted with a small, lightweight sensor

:02:09. > :02:20.Just six minutes later, the pigeons are back and the sensor

:02:21. > :02:33.Rick and his team have been able to find out the route the pigeons

:02:34. > :02:38.The information will help them to figure out how pollution

:02:39. > :02:56.So thanks pigeon number 80, you've done everyone proud.

:02:57. > :02:59.From pollution high in the air, to pollution down on the ground.

:03:00. > :03:02.One student is helping experts find out how clean or dirty

:03:03. > :03:10.the air we breathe is, when we walk around.

:03:11. > :03:16.Logan is doing a very important job. You might wonder what is in his

:03:17. > :03:19.backpack. He has been testing pollution levels in Leicester, with

:03:20. > :03:26.something called a portable air monitor. This kit measures chemicals

:03:27. > :03:29.in the atmosphere. Researchers send him out and about two places where

:03:30. > :03:35.there is a lot of traffic to test things out. We spent a while talking

:03:36. > :03:40.to Logan in a sheltered location and there were some cars there which

:03:41. > :03:44.became parked up. The fascinating thing is during that period when

:03:45. > :03:49.standing still we experienced high levels of pollution than with

:03:50. > :03:54.traffic on the junction. What do his friends think of this information?

:03:55. > :03:57.People have stopped waiting near the buses after school for their

:03:58. > :04:02.friends. They have been waiting closer to the leisure centre and

:04:03. > :04:06.further from the buses. It is obviously had an impact. It is hoped

:04:07. > :04:08.if people know how much pollution is around them at the way they look at

:04:09. > :04:10.the issue will change. Chelsea are now 10 points ahead at

:04:11. > :04:14.the top of the Premier League table. Last night they beat

:04:15. > :04:17.West Ham 2-1 thanks to goals Manuel Lanzini managed to get a goal

:04:18. > :04:21.for the home side in injury time. President Donald Trump has

:04:22. > :04:23.signed a new version The first version led

:04:24. > :04:27.to lots of protests. This new version bans visitors

:04:28. > :04:32.from six mainly-muslim countries, from coming to the US for three

:04:33. > :04:36.months, and puts a stop to all This has been

:04:37. > :04:51.bamboozling me for years. It is a bit of a grey

:04:52. > :05:07.area until now. Pandas have unique black

:05:08. > :05:09.and white patches. Unlike some other types of bears,

:05:10. > :05:16.pandas are active all year round. As they go in search

:05:17. > :05:18.of bamboo to eat they move from warm rain

:05:19. > :05:21.forests to snowy mountains, The white helps them to blend

:05:22. > :05:28.into snowy surroundings and the black helps them to

:05:29. > :05:30.hide in shady forests. The black ears might look cute

:05:31. > :05:33.but they are actually a warning They vary in shape and size

:05:34. > :05:58.from panda to panda. It is thought they help

:05:59. > :06:01.them to recognise each
