:00:07. > :00:20.Live with news of Prince George's big trip down under on the way.

:00:21. > :00:23.Plus: This is Newsround! Let's start in Africa where the

:00:24. > :00:27.people of Rwanda have begun a special week to mark 20 years since

:00:28. > :00:33.one of history's most distressing events. The BBC's George Alagiah has

:00:34. > :00:35.been at a special ceremony today. You may find some of what he says

:00:36. > :00:41.upsetting. I am in Rwanda's biggest stadium and

:00:42. > :00:45.thousands of people are here and they're remembering some of the

:00:46. > :00:51.terrible things that happened 20 years ago, what happened was that

:00:52. > :00:55.800,000 people, that's nearly a million people, were killed because

:00:56. > :01:00.they belonged to an ethnic group called the Tutsi. Women and children

:01:01. > :01:04.were among those killed. Today there are lots of children here in Rwanda

:01:05. > :01:09.that are too young to remember what happened. They weren't even born 20

:01:10. > :01:15.years ago. But I have been finding out they've been learning all about

:01:16. > :01:20.those terrible things which are called genocide, they've been

:01:21. > :01:25.learning about it in their classrooms.

:01:26. > :01:30.Morning break at this school. 20 years ago I visited this school.

:01:31. > :01:34.Then the pupils were being helped with the trauma of having witnessed

:01:35. > :01:40.the genocide. Let's see what they're up to now.

:01:41. > :01:44.Today even these primary school children are taught about the

:01:45. > :01:49.genocide and why it must never be allowed to happen again. First

:01:50. > :01:59.question - what were the causes of the massacres? The pupils, whether

:02:00. > :02:05.they're from the majority Huti population or the once persecuted

:02:06. > :02:09.Tutsis are taught they're just Rwandans now. The country is trying

:02:10. > :02:14.to move beyond ethnicity. The emphasis now is on working together,

:02:15. > :02:18.since the Government scrapped Tuesday virtually every child gets

:02:19. > :02:22.-- scrapped tuition feeses virtually every child gets education. It's

:02:23. > :02:27.Rwanda's best chance to create a generation for whom genocide is

:02:28. > :02:30.consigned to the history books. Remember if there's anything you see

:02:31. > :02:35.or hear in the news that upsets you there's lots of help and advice on

:02:36. > :02:39.the Newsround website. In other news, Prince George has

:02:40. > :02:43.travelled to the other side of the world as part of his first official

:02:44. > :02:46.Royal trip. He has touched down in New Zealand with his mum and dad,

:02:47. > :02:51.the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and lots of people were excited to

:02:52. > :02:55.see them. Here is yenny. Royal touch down in New Zealand --

:02:56. > :02:59.Jenny. The visit of this little boy is big news, especially for those

:03:00. > :03:03.who got to meet the family. Everyone has been talking about it and we got

:03:04. > :03:07.to experience it. It's a really amazing opportunity. They were

:03:08. > :03:13.really down to earth. So nice. The Royals are visiting because the

:03:14. > :03:18.Queen's still officially - the Queen still officially rules Australia. It

:03:19. > :03:21.dates back to when she had much more control over Commonwealth countries.

:03:22. > :03:25.There are those who have questioned whether that should continue. This

:03:26. > :03:29.visit is partly designed to show off the benefits of having closer ties

:03:30. > :03:36.to royalty although some need more convincing than others. I went to

:03:37. > :03:39.the wedding in the UK, people call it magic, obsession. But yeah,

:03:40. > :03:44.there's something magical about them. I love them. Baby George's

:03:45. > :03:48.first international tour, they don't come to New Zealand every week. You

:03:49. > :03:54.want to see them. The Royal couple were welcomed by traditional Maori

:03:55. > :03:58.warriors and took part in a greeting ceremony where people rub noses to

:03:59. > :04:02.say hello. The Prince will travel with his parents around New Zealand,

:04:03. > :04:09.then on to Australia. An opportunity for people there to meet the boy who

:04:10. > :04:13.might one day be their King. Prince George isn't the only one

:04:14. > :04:17.attract th new fans. Fresh from being crowned winner of The Voice

:04:18. > :04:21.Jermaine Jackman answered some of your questions. The 19-year-old

:04:22. > :04:25.landed a major record deal after being voted this year's best act on

:04:26. > :04:30.Saturday. This is what he told us about the moment he won. I was

:04:31. > :04:34.standing there thinking I need to go to the toilet, hurry up, please! My

:04:35. > :04:40.hands were sweaty and when I heard my name called out it almost took a

:04:41. > :04:48.second of a delay for me to go, what! ? And you can see Jermaine

:04:49. > :04:53.answer more of your questions back here at 6. 50pm. Head to the website
