:00:42. > :00:45.thousands of people are here and they're remembering some of the
:00:46. > :00:51.terrible things that happened 20 years ago, what happened was that
:00:52. > :00:55.800,000 people, that's nearly a million people, were killed because
:00:56. > :01:00.they belonged to an ethnic group called the Tutsi. Women and children
:01:01. > :01:04.were among those killed. Today there are lots of children here in Rwanda
:01:05. > :01:09.that are too young to remember what happened. They weren't even born 20
:01:10. > :01:15.years ago. But I have been finding out they've been learning all about
:01:16. > :01:20.those terrible things which are called genocide, they've been
:01:21. > :01:25.learning about it in their classrooms.
:01:26. > :01:30.Morning break at this school. 20 years ago I visited this school.
:01:31. > :01:34.Then the pupils were being helped with the trauma of having witnessed
:01:35. > :01:40.the genocide. Let's see what they're up to now.
:01:41. > :01:44.Today even these primary school children are taught about the
:01:45. > :01:49.genocide and why it must never be allowed to happen again. First
:01:50. > :01:59.question - what were the causes of the massacres? The pupils, whether
:02:00. > :02:05.they're from the majority Huti population or the once persecuted
:02:06. > :02:09.Tutsis are taught they're just Rwandans now. The country is trying
:02:10. > :02:14.to move beyond ethnicity. The emphasis now is on working together,
:02:15. > :02:18.since the Government scrapped Tuesday virtually every child gets
:02:19. > :02:22.-- scrapped tuition feeses virtually every child gets education. It's
:02:23. > :02:27.Rwanda's best chance to create a generation for whom genocide is
:02:28. > :02:30.consigned to the history books. Remember if there's anything you see

:02:40. > :02:43.travelled to the other side of the world as part of his first official

:03:26. > :03:29.visit is partly designed to show off the benefits of having closer ties
:03:30. > :03:36.to royalty although some need more convincing than others. I went to
:03:37. > :03:39.the wedding in the UK, people call it magic, obsession. But yeah,
:03:40. > :03:44.there's something magical about them. I love them. Baby George's
:03:45. > :03:48.first international tour, they don't come to New Zealand every week. You
:03:49. > :03:54.want to see them. The Royal couple were welcomed by traditional Maori
:03:55. > :03:58.warriors and took part in a greeting ceremony where people rub noses to
:03:59. > :04:02.say hello. The Prince will travel with his parents around New Zealand,
:04:03. > :04:09.then on to Australia. An opportunity for people there to meet the boy who
