:02:51. > :02:56.The small toys have become the latest must-have gadget.

:03:03. > :03:06.You can have challenges with other people, you can trade and you can

:03:07. > :03:11.These fidget spinners have got a rather surprising past.

:03:12. > :03:15.They were originally designed to help children with certain

:03:16. > :03:17.conditions like autism deal with stress.

:03:18. > :03:22.But these little things are causing big headaches for lots of teachers.

:03:23. > :03:25.Sometimes children, they get distracted,

:03:26. > :03:29.then they don't concentrate on their work.

:03:30. > :03:31.They try and rush it so they can play with it,

:03:32. > :03:35.and they don't produce much quality work.

:03:36. > :03:37.They've since been banned in a number of schools,

:03:38. > :03:40.but here in Manchester teachers are a bit more relaxed.

:03:41. > :03:43.They're happy for kids to play with them, but only

:03:44. > :03:47.You can play with them at lunchtime and playtime,

:03:48. > :03:51.but you're not allowed to play with them during class.

:03:52. > :03:54.We have them banned in classes, and around the school environment.

:03:55. > :03:57.You're only allowed them in break time, lunch.

:03:58. > :03:59.We're really happy to have kids enjoying fidget

:04:00. > :04:03.We're seeing them get a lot of fun, they're

:04:04. > :04:08.But we have asked that they put them away as soon as they enter

:04:09. > :04:11.the building, so that they are not a distraction in lessons.

:04:12. > :04:12.We've found children were more interested in watching

:04:13. > :04:14.each other do tricks than they were in

:04:15. > :04:19.The spinners only cost a couple of pounds, but some websites have

:04:20. > :04:24.started to charge a lot more, as their popularity increases.

:04:27. > :04:29.Online videos showing tricks have had millions of views.

:04:30. > :04:32.Until the next big thing in the playground, it looks

:04:33. > :04:40.like the fidget spinner will be around until at least the summer.

:04:46. > :04:55.But, until recently, taking part wasn't an option.

:04:56. > :04:58.Macey was born with an ankle joint that didn't work,

:04:59. > :05:00.so doctors decided to amputate, to give her a better

:05:01. > :05:06.At first, Macey had a plastic leg, but then she was given

:05:07. > :05:12.She's one of a few children to be given one,

:05:13. > :05:17.It's given her much more movement and speed.

:05:18. > :05:20.She's still growing though, and will need a new one

:05:21. > :05:25.Although she won't definitely be given the money for a new one,

:05:26. > :05:33.there's definitely no stopping Macey right now.

:05:34. > :05:36.Now, you know when a wasp just will not leave you alone?

:05:37. > :05:38.Well, it even happens to sports people.

:05:39. > :05:41.Check out MotoGP rider Cal Crutchlow, who got a pesky

:05:42. > :05:50.He said he'd been stung about five or six times.
