:02:58. > :03:01.The British Army are helping park rangers in Gabon, in Africa,
:03:02. > :03:03.to protect elephants there from poachers,
:03:04. > :03:05.who are hunting them for their ivory tusks.
:03:06. > :03:12.These forest elephants are under threat, all because of their tusks.
:03:13. > :03:15.They live in Gabon, a country on the coast of Africa.
:03:16. > :03:18.Most of Gabon is covered in rainforest, stretching
:03:19. > :03:20.for thousands of miles, and most of Africa's forest
:03:21. > :03:27.But poachers want their tusks, which are made of ivory,
:03:28. > :03:30.so that they can sell them for lots of money.
:03:31. > :03:33.It's thought 30,000 elephants have been poached in the last ten
:03:34. > :03:36.years, more than half of the elephants in Gabon.
:03:37. > :03:39.Even though there's a worldwide ban on the sale of ivory,
:03:40. > :03:41.there's still an illegal trade and poachers can make a lot
:03:42. > :03:50.But the British Army hopes it can help to tackle the problem.
:03:51. > :03:53.Gabon has got a really high density of forest elephants.
:03:54. > :03:59.That's why it has a poaching problem.
:04:00. > :04:02.Out here, training the Gabonese National Parks Agency to combat that
:04:03. > :04:04.means that the British Army can make a difference in that fight
:04:05. > :04:10.They're training park rangers in how to find poachers hiding
