:00:22. > :00:32.all caused by Storm Desmond, which struck at the weekend.

:00:33. > :00:35.It's flooded streets, shut schools, left animals stranded AND left

:00:36. > :00:40.thousands of people without any electricity.

:00:41. > :00:44.Well, our reporter Naz has been in one of the worst hit areas today to

:00:45. > :00:51.speak to kids about what's been happening.

:00:52. > :01:00.We are in Cumbria, in Carlisle, one of the worst affected areas of the

:01:01. > :01:06.storms this weekend. Take a look behind me. That street is almost

:01:07. > :01:11.like a river. I came here this morning and the water was almost up

:01:12. > :01:16.to my waist. So a lot of flooding and what is strange about the

:01:17. > :01:23.street, no lights. None of the houses have electricity, no traffic

:01:24. > :01:26.lights either. A lot of children are off school today and plenty have

:01:27. > :01:33.been affected and they have been telling me about their homes.

:01:34. > :01:43.What happened to your house? It is flooded. We cannot get downstairs.

:01:44. > :01:53.The water is just so high. Probably right up to my head. So yesterday we

:01:54. > :02:00.just said upstairs. Not much food or anything. We did not have anything

:02:01. > :02:07.to do. And you were rescued, what was that like? When I first got up I

:02:08. > :02:13.thought they were joking, I thought I was still asleep. But it was real.

:02:14. > :02:18.We tried to get out of the front window but we could not so we went

:02:19. > :02:29.to the bathroom and opened that window. We had to climb down and get

:02:30. > :02:34.into the boat. So behind me and rescue operation is still going on

:02:35. > :02:39.and also a big clean-up operation taking place. You may be wondering

:02:40. > :02:41.what the weather has in store for the Carlisle and the rest of the

:02:42. > :02:45.country for them in Carlisle will expect more rain overnight and the

:02:46. > :02:50.ground is wet. There could be more flooding. But for now tonight and

:02:51. > :02:54.tomorrow, the clean-up operation will continue.
