:00:00. > :00:11.Hi, I'm Leah and you're live with Newsround on CBBC. On today's show:

:00:12. > :00:15.Why this former Strictly Come Dancing champ's making a sporting

:00:16. > :00:37.comeback. And the pig weigh-in for the tiny

:00:38. > :00:41.panda. This is Newsround. Next, a US military helicopter has

:00:42. > :00:44.crashed on the Norfolk coast. It happened last night when the

:00:45. > :00:46.aircraft was carrying out a low flying training exercise. Emergency

:00:47. > :00:49.services say four people have been killed and an investigation into

:00:50. > :00:52.what caused the crash has begun. Accord and has been placed around

:00:53. > :01:01.the scene. This is ordinary procedure in cases like this. It is

:01:02. > :01:05.for the public safety. And if anything in the news upsets

:01:06. > :01:13.you, there's lots of help and advice on our website.

:01:14. > :01:16.South Sudan is the world's newest country. Just two years old, it was

:01:17. > :01:20.hoped its independence from Sudan would bring peace to an area that

:01:21. > :01:23.had endured decades of war. But that's not been the case. For the

:01:24. > :01:27.past three weeks violence has broken out between the government and rebel

:01:28. > :01:29.groups, and there are fears the country could descend in to civil

:01:30. > :01:31.war. South Sudan gained independence in

:01:32. > :01:33.2011 after a war which lasted decades and killed 1.5 million

:01:34. > :01:38.people. Today, the men that fought for their country's independents are

:01:39. > :01:44.now fighting each other. In July, the country's president accused his

:01:45. > :01:49.deputy of trying to seize power, dividing the country's army into two

:01:50. > :01:53.sides. Now those sides are fighting to control the oil fields, which are

:01:54. > :01:56.worth a lot of money. The international community fears the

:01:57. > :02:01.world's newest country is on the brink of civil war. This is where

:02:02. > :02:08.the fiercest fighting is taking place. Villages lie empty as people

:02:09. > :02:12.flee their homes in fear. Estimates say there are about 200,000

:02:13. > :02:20.displaced people in the country, who have moved because of the violence.

:02:21. > :02:23.60% of those are children. Even before the fighting started, South

:02:24. > :02:27.Sudan had a lot of problems. Although the country has lots of

:02:28. > :02:31.oil, most people are poor. One in three have no access to drinking

:02:32. > :02:37.water, and one in every seven children will die before their fifth

:02:38. > :02:41.birthday. However, there is hope the crisis can be resolved. After weeks

:02:42. > :02:43.of uncertainty, the two warring sides have begun face-to-face

:02:44. > :02:50.discussions for the first time and there are hopes the talks will

:02:51. > :02:54.provide a peaceful solution soon. In America, there's been no let up

:02:55. > :02:56.in the cold weather. Now all 50 US states are experiencing freezing

:02:57. > :03:00.temperatures, including New York, Georgia, and Tennessee. It was minus

:03:01. > :03:03.17 degrees Celsius in the small town of Hell, in Michigan. Weather

:03:04. > :03:06.experts say they expect things to get better soon with temperatures

:03:07. > :03:09.starting to rise in the coming days, although in Kentucky an escaped

:03:10. > :03:17.prisoner turned himself in to get out of the cold!

:03:18. > :03:22.It is so cold that I can barely feel my fingers. The thermometer is

:03:23. > :03:29.giving us a reading of 10 Fahrenheit, about -12 Celsius. If

:03:30. > :03:33.you want to get an idea of how cold it really is, take a look at this.

:03:34. > :03:39.We poured water on a T-shirt less than five minutes ago, and now it is

:03:40. > :03:41.completely solid. Sport, and Manchester United

:03:42. > :03:46.suffered their third defeat in a row for the first time in 14 years last

:03:47. > :03:50.night. A Ryan Giggs own goal set them on the way to a 2-1 defeat to

:03:51. > :03:53.Sunderland in the first leg of their Capital One Cup semifinal. Nemanya

:03:54. > :03:56.Vidic had pulled it back to 1-1, but a controversial penalty for

:03:57. > :04:01.Sunderland gave them the win and got United boss David Moyes rather

:04:02. > :04:08.upset. How could the linesman give that? The referee was looking

:04:09. > :04:13.directly at it. The linesman had to look through the defender to give

:04:14. > :04:16.the decision. Can't believe it. And he might have won Strictly Come

:04:17. > :04:19.Dancing during his break from the sport, but gymnast Louis Smith's

:04:20. > :04:22.announced he's making a comeback for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

:04:23. > :04:28.this summer. The three-time Olympic medallist has decided to put off his

:04:29. > :04:33.retirement in order to compete. I have never had more than two weeks

:04:34. > :04:38.of in the sport since the age of four. To have a long time off, it

:04:39. > :04:40.was nice but now it is time to get back in shape.

:04:41. > :04:44.And last up, just enough time to show you some pictures of Bao Bao,

:04:45. > :04:48.the baby panda at the Smithsonian National Zoo in America. Here she is

:04:49. > :04:51.getting her weight checked by staff at the zoo. They're spending lots of

:04:52. > :04:55.time with her to make sure she's used to being in contact with humans

:04:56. > :04:59.and doesn't get scared by them. Bao Bao will make her debut in front of

:05:00. > :05:02.public at the zoo later this month. That is all from me. The team is

:05:03. > :05:03.back here later this afternoon.
